    You have so many brilliant ideas! From adorning paperclips to use as embellishment attachers to gorgeously understated tags, to reusing "trash" in all kinds of paper crafting, etc. I love your style. Thank you for showing us that we don't need the latest release. And, of course, I love your soft but confident voice; its quality is very soothing to me. I am an advanced Stage IV breast cancer survivor. A couple months ago I was told that my life expectancy can be counted in months now, perhaps as many as 18, but less than 24. It's been a six-year battle and I knew this time would come. Perhaps it foolish of me, but I took a monetary gift and invested it in stamps, dies, inks and colored pencils that I have always wanted but talked myself out of due to expense. I want the last months of my wonderful life here to include lots of paper crafting, including journaling which I have never tried. I want my life to be filled with joy and joyful experiences, and to bring joy to others. You bring joy to me, Deborah. Thank you.

      Your message is deeply moving and I so admire the wonderful goal you have set for yourself and your desire to share your creativity and joy with others. Making things and sharing them is in my DNA but sometimes in the rush of the day I forget how valuable this is. Your message has reminded me not to take it for granted. I hope you will have all the time you want to try new things and enjoy your new crafting goodies which I'm sure will bring you much pleasure every time you use them. Thank you for sharing your determination to fill your future with joy! :) xx

      @pfengwa44 - I don't know what has transpired since you left this post but wanted to comment. I am a retired Hospice counselor. I recall one lady who had a HUGE set of gel pens and the 3-ring, school type notebooks surrounding her when I've visit. She said she loved to draw and was always so happy and busy when I saw her. What a wonderful investment with your money time and for your peace and what precious keepsakes for friends and family.

    Gosh! I've been travelling around in Scotland once and those colours are truly there! I loved the cocoa powdered montains. 💗😊 Those greys in the sky are deep and made me wonder about the vastness of my soul. I couldn't wait to stop our car to able to take pictures and immerse in the view. 😍😍😍

    Really found this to be helpful! The thing I like about your style is that it makes me think of shabby chic style which I love. One of the journals you create would be fun to just leave on a coffee table. If I was a guest I wouldn’t be able to help but pick it up and enjoy whatever it was you journaled about. Maybe a vacation, a wedding, a 50th anniversary! This type of journal would send my imagination soaring!

    I am brand new to Junk Journaling & I have not even started on my first journal yet. I just found your TH-cam channel and I am so happy 😀 that I did. I have so so many wonderful supplies that I use in my Scrapbooking & Card Making. I am so happy that I can use most of them for making Junk Journals. I am going to grab some popcorn and watch several of your videos! I can’t wait to get started on my first one!

    Thank you so much for your ideas ... I love your channel... I could listen to your voice non stop; it is so soothing. I have just completed my first journal. Gave all my stamps to my granddaughter and didn't want to replace them right now. Suddenly remembered a huge selection of iron on embroidery transfers ... The oldest of which are dated 1913!!!!!!! Don't need stamps for a long, long time... transfers look amazing as stamps. ... and are very unique. Looking forward to your next video...

    I was chuckling when you were speaking of the colors one would see in Scotland. I'm from the U.S. - I went on a May Abroad trip sponsored by my college when I was 20 and lived with a host family. One of the best memories of my life. (I'm now 66) The husband of the family with whom I stayed made a comment one morning. "One can always tell who the Yanks are - they wear such bright colors." I wasn't one who wore bright colors but I was wearing a "robin's egg blue" raincoat. I mostly wore a warm sweater with jeans...and the raincoat - rained every day I think. The comment stuck with me and I began noticing what people in Ireland wore and they were more muted colors or neutrals. Off topic of journaling but another comment I think he made was that Yanks stand out on trains because they're always talking. I tend to be more of a talker than the average American but I thought that was so odd; if one is traveling with someone they know, of course we're going to be talking. Even solo I tend to strike up conversations wherever but, again, next time I was on the train in Dublin I noticed the only ones talking were my group from the U.S. Everyone else was looking straight ahead. Customs are interesting. :)

    I loved that little word you threw in there. It almost sounded Chinese and I’m guessing it meant something like “odds & ends” or as Brits says “bits and bobs.” Couldn’t begin to come up with a spelling...juju(?). It even gave your narrative texture!

    Thanks for info. Just a note, remember about copyright and scanning or copying, ok if it's just personal use but not if you sell them. You would have to use original.pages, and still careful depending how recent it is and its copyright rules, depending which country you live in, it can vary a lot xxx

    Absolutely wonderful video! I'll definitely be following along! I've been a junk journaler for a couple of years and went WAY overboard buying stuff. Now I'm in the process of downsizing for health reasons...also because I have found "My Style". Thank you for sharing your time and talents with us!

    • @AtticLane
      @AtticLane  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'm so glad you enjoyed it Anne! And isn't it just soooooo easy to buy stuff? I hear ya!! I'm sorry to hear health is causing you to downsize but when I've reduced my stash over the past years, it has lead to greater creativity because I find when I'm confronted with too many choices, it actually stifles my creativity. Using less sets my mind free and I hope this scaled down, simple series will liberate anyone else who feels that :) xx

I've kind of gotten a case of cold feet and just can't seem to dive in to making my first journal even though I have tons of beautiful ephemera and so many very old books that I can gut and use or if it's too old and precious to do that to I can use it and the pages for a journal all on it's own! Hi - yes it's on my Channel in a playlist called Journal Making. In this particular series there were 8 videos showing every step of making a journal. Enjoy! :) xx

    To be safe, I don’t scan or copy anything from my books due to copyright issues. I think a book has to be 100 years old to be out of copyright so I end up using original pages in all my journals.
