Watching NL is such a confusing rollercoaster because you know he's smarter and better at this than you, but there's always one part he just completely misses that has you absolutely fuming
Figured out kowtowed and waited patiently for NL to figure it out too. That's my one time I had it earlier that him. XD
When he was reading the across clue, obviously Mona Lisa but was trying to fill in the down.

This is why Baba is You sits in my steam library with a few hours of gameplay. He didn't solve a puzzle in time and it made me so angry I bought the game to do it myself... but I couldn't get to that level because it's too difficult.
Yeah, it was PEEVE, RAVE, and DAB AT for me when he first encountered them. He got them eventually tho!
For me it was reel and yea I was arguing to my screen when he didn’t see it lol

It's the journey of the struggle to figure and suss every word out, and the satisfaction of a board completely filled out.
It'd be less satisfying if he wasn't so good at them. And he also keeps you captivated by missing a few along the way.
"Negative Responses" is clearly supposed to be "-2s"

I'm an non native english speaker and when I encounter crosswords I'm fkin doomed I don't know anything. There is always new words and references I never get.

I have never heard the phrase "Go West, young man" as a form of advice. Very impressed that NL figured that one out, I would never in a million years get it.
It's a movie reference, I think. I knew it from a Pokemon episode title from the first season "Go West, Young Ash"
It’s referring to the Manifest destiny, where Americans believed it was their god given duty to expand to the west
and a village people song. . .always follow their advice

@@Northernlion Excuse me that's "étudiant". Both mean student, but élève is the general term, while étudiant is usually used for universities.... and of course the Sorbonne is a university so.. yeah

I decided to try myself at some of these, this was the first one i did and it took me more than an hour. Huge respect for the speed.
It also takes me about an hour on average but this one I gave up on. It was a hard puzzle! Kudos for completing it.

These crossword vids are peak interactivity! I can go to the website and do the puzzle for myself, then when I get frustrated come back here and watch NL work through it. Love it, 10/10
I'm pretty sure I've only heard the word "aver" exactly once in my life -

Him saying Danglish is helping him out, and me thinking of Denglish (Englishfication of German words, or when germans try to speak english, denglish) makes me hella confused as to why a canadian would speak the german and english mix language

Never heard of either "aver" or "Virginia reel" so that last part took me like 20 minutes and made me want to scream at the writers but not really since they're doing their best but still.
Aver is fairly common

I figured it out easily. There's so many that are obvious that make me wanna punch something
A reel is a classic folk song, Especially traditional Irish step-dance and in the Bluegrass tradition a reel is a fast song that you would dance to.
Boy I sure do hope NL doesn't get cross with this puzzle

I like this content, it's easy to have as background noise, it's easy to play along with, it's like Cracking the Cryptic except less brain cells and focus are required. Hopefully the easy puzzle game trend continues.

Unfornately, I only attempted and got "Mona" and "Myth" right. Tho, I'm very sure that I wouldn't have known the answer for that level of crosswords even in my mother language.
