Thanks for sharing this. It's brought back a lot of memories from 1993 (my god that's 30 years ago). I was climbing with 2 friends and we stayed overnight on the bottom edge of the Tete Rousse glacier as the refuge wasn't there back then. We also slept on the snow behind the old Gouter refuge as it was full. THAT was a cold night. Breath taking views at the top. After another night on the side of the TR glacier we made it back to the camp site at Les Houches. I haven't done any alpine climbing since, and really regret it. Too old and creaky to start now.
Hi Andy - i also climbed Mt Blanc some 20 years ago, and this was my second time. Have recently picked up on alpine climbing again with a group of friends, and its just fabulous!
What did you do to train for this? Or were you already training for years in a discipline that gave you fitness for this? Also lovely to suddenly hear Danish, I lived in Denmark for 10 years and still speak the language. :)

Hi. Thank you for the feedback. I have not done the trek from Les Houches to Contamines Montjoie, but I can see its a 6h30 trek. It would probably be a bit of a stretch, also given the commute from the airport. BR Johan

Hi Leeroy. Good question - yes, you need to be quite fit to climb Mt Blanc. I would recommend running and some backpack training in hilly terrain
Aim for at least half marathon shape or more

Hi there. We climbed in late june last year. So you will probably have a lot less snow on the lower slopes. Good luck with your climb!!
