I believe they were very much underrated years ago but they are still going when all the fads and fashionistas and crap of the 80s all faded and floated away, the true class like the Waterboys are still here with us. and they are still as classy as ever. @@MrCatstail Hi I hope you are well. Thank you for replying to my comment. Yeah I saw somewhere that Steve retired alright but wasn't sure whether that was true or not. This report said that he retired completely. It didn't say anything about him saying he'd be working with the boys in the studio. I'm sorry to hear he retired from touring with the band but I DO understand. And my love goes out to Steve. I do understand he has family and wants to slow down and be with them. Touring can knock it out of the youngest of people. No insult to these lads but they are no spring chickens anymore. We're all climbing up there. Were all in the same age group. Anyone that has loved the Waterboys from the start. There's none of us spring chickens anymore. But It's good news though that Steve still wants to work with them in the studio but he will be so badly missed on that stage. He brought every song to life with that fiddle. He is so melodic and you can see he loves his music. It's so infectious to watch him play. Beautiful. I never thought I could enjoy listening to a fiddle being played so much. I' ve heard some of them try to play and honestly its hearing cats fighting outside in the yard. Now there are some very good ones too. But Steve is soo so pleasantly and joyfully different. The man has it in his soul. He just emanates joy and inspires me to want to try it. Only I think it's an instrument that is not easy to get the hang of straight away. I think my little dog would pack her suitcase and leave me, and. I can't risk that.🐶 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I love her too much for that. She can take me singing alright with the songs along with the boys on TH-cam and I'm trying to learn to play the acousticguitar. She's not too bad there. She slips out of the room quietly now and then to go.into her office. The sitting room for peace and quiet, but she hasn't left home just yet. Thank God. But the violin, I think yeah I would be pushing her over the edge there alright. I'll just continue to watch videos and listen to recordings of the Waterboys and Steve and let them do what do what they are best at. And they are wonderful. I Thank God for having the pleasure and the privilege of hearing them and its great that they're still going. Mike is still in great voice. Unfortunately Steve has retired from touring with the band but says he will always be available to work with them in the studio.
