    Thank you, now I know what to look & listen for when I see & talk to the doctor when it comes to X-rays.

    I hear doctors say that x-rays do not always correlate with symptoms. A patient with mild narrowing may be experiencing symptoms while a patient with severe narrowing may not be experiencing little to no symptoms. But I fail to see how anyone with severe joint space narrowing (bone on bone) will not experience pain and swelling when slowly jogging or doing any similar type of exercise.

    What is the difference between "small osteophyte" and "marginal osteophyte"? My report includes both terms.

      Radiologist may use simple terms or medical ones. Small, moderate or large is just their personal assessment of the size of the bone spur. Many times they occur around the edges of the bone and these are termed marginal. Hope that helps.

    What does advanced chondromalacia mean?

    • @dradamrosen
      @dradamrosen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Good question. Chondro is for cartilage and malacia is a general softening. As cartilage ages and degenerates it becomes soft, fissures, and breaks down to expose the bone. So just a fancy term for arthritis.

      @@dradamrosen Thank you for the information. That's kind of what I thought. Basically I was told have arthritis and it's bone on bone. I also have a torn meniscus, but on the first visit the doctor said he'd take care of that when we replace the knee. That was after he'd seen the MRI. I'm scheduled for TKR Oct. 26th. Thanks again for the reply and your videos.
