Excellent drummer. Very unique. Best hands I’ve ever seen. Technically - absolutely virtuoso. Very musical drummer. Intellectual. Criminally underrated. One of the greatest drummers ever lived.
Very good comparing. Saw Buddy Rich Big Band Machine and still into this day I never been in a crowd tha became tha totaly nuts )))@@joaoluisbufaical994
Such a down-to-earth guy, no pretence in what he does or says and, yet, an absolute genius behind the drum kit, truly one of a kind. And very nice interview, by the way
This man is part of a handful of older drummers still alive that these younger people point to and say "I started playing drums because of him!" God bless ya Ian.
As soon as I heard his first amazing fill on Black night, aged 12 .. he was my favourite drummer and still is and I’ve seen some amazing competition. … but he’s Ian 🥁Paice. 😀 There isn’t another one.
Great interview. Thank you, Ian... for a lifetime of music that first changed my life in 1970. I had the privilege of organising the soccer game at Centennial Park the day after the George Harrison show.
Hello, from Moscow! I really happy to see Ian. Your music is perfect. I try to play some songs on sintezator. Burn, Sail away tomorrow, it's my favorite hits forever.
To get an indication of just what a phenomenally creative drummer Ian Paice is... listen "really closely" to what he does behind Jon Lord's keyboard solo in Space Truckin on "Made in Japan". His feel and intensity... the "drama" in his playing is simply astonishing!
I still listen to "hush" and "Book of Talison" records to this day. Ians drumming has always been over the top. Recently he tires but admire his longevity. "In Rock" my favorite.
Two hard rock drumming monsters of early days of 70-ties were John Bonham and Ian Paice. For few years nobody was even close to them!! Ian must be a great guy to have a pint with.
The Deep Purple with Steve Morse was refreshing and very musical. After the first few years they played too much of the old catalogue. It would have been great just to do a tour of Steve Morse era songs - c’est la vie
Always nice to hear Ian P. Everybody knows DP are stage animals. To hear Ian explain how they all enjoyed touring and performing over studio and media stuff confirms that 👍
Keep on Rocking Guy's. While you Still can!!. I've Seen you Guy's Play live many, many TIMES!! And You Guy's Still Can!!. Simon McBride is The latest Deep Purple (October 2022).Guitarist and He's Brilliant.!! So keep on Rocking Guy's. Steve Morse left to look after his Wife Janine who is Battling Cancer.😪😔. Alas. But I've Still Seen The Band (DEEP PURPLE) Play!LIVE😂and They Still Kickass. Kindest Regards Mick Hill Wolverhampton (UK)!!!🙏🇬🇧 👏
Hello Paul, I've just stumbled upon your channel enjoyed it immensely. Your name sounds familiar to me. Perhaps you were a journalist for some of the Oz rock magazines of yesteryear. I look forward to your next interview. I would actually love to have you have interview some of our surviving pioneers, Matt Taylor, Russel Morris, Doug Ford, G. Wayne Thomas etc.
I’ve been around in media (mostly Noise11 and radio) for a very long time but not in any of the old (or new) print or online media. Thanks for stumbling in (as Suzi Q would say)
I can't stand the double bass drum thing. All the drum tracks on albums these days sound the same. I much prefer old school drummers. Paicey, cozy powell, lee kearslake, bonzo, etc
Have had this discussion with heaps of peoples some have like me, have travelled around the country following our dreams and passion with this band and felt that we were seeing the band for the last time in 2013,, but this so called festival in a little know location is well...we not attending,, the freaking cost 180 bucks? and vip over 810bucks? thats not for us at this time ,cost of living and so on , the transport is not there, no car parking and i feel well,, we all talk about it going to be another greatest hit package and we all know the band ,,,would love to see later album material, god knows there is a ship load but Ian wont do it and no Steve Morse only McBride ,, ,,sorry been there, seen and done that 43 times listen to this interview its all fucking old stuff,, what about the later music? ,,yeah/nah it wont happen ...i will be staying at home ..not worth the over inflated cost sorry heres a thought !!!. a Newcastle trip. Fly to William town ,stay over night at the bnb/hotel like other times before and fly out the next day ,,priced under the 810 vip package and only deep purple
Agree. The Steve Morse era was musical and very interesting- should have emphasized that music. They don’t need to play their old catalog- fine keep Highway Star and SOTW then it should have been mixing Morse era songs There are no more surprises in their shows or jamming
Ian paice the reason i been a drummer from age 15 still playing today at 58 yrs just auditioned for band munkey town hear in brisbane Mr paice handed me one of his drum sticks from the stage at festival hall after his drum solo he singled me out to give it to me didnt throw sticks into the crowd mr Gillian stopped that concert when i stood up and refused to sit in the seats security tryed to get me as i had caused every one to leave there seats it was so stupid to have seats in the front of stage where we would all normally stand for such a show i was part of heavy metal club called metal over bris once i stood up and moved to the front railing more joined me until know one was sitting in those stupid seats it was so cool when sercurity tryed to grab me as the ring leader but mr Gillian was right onto it and had that sercurity guy removed we all stayed up front right to end of the show and getting that stick handed to me by my drumming hero was just gold mr paice the paradiddle king I do my first with show with new band at Rics cafe In the valley in brisbane on the 24th of may 2024
I have had had a lifelong love for Ian as a drummer! Certainly one of the greatest rock drummers of all time! Great interview. Thank you 🍺
Excellent drummer. Very unique. Best hands I’ve ever seen. Technically - absolutely virtuoso. Very musical drummer. Intellectual. Criminally underrated. One of the greatest drummers ever lived.
Again - NO. If threre's a drummer who are admired, it's him ---
Super batteur ! Ce sont des artistes !..
IAN PAICE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "The Buddy Rich of ROCK"! Simply the very best drummer ever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very good comparing.
Saw Buddy Rich Big Band Machine and still into this day I never been in a crowd tha became tha totaly nuts )))@@joaoluisbufaical994
He was part of the best Whitesnake line up. One of my favourite live albums back in the day was Whitesnakes "Live In The Heart of The City".
One listen to Burn explains the respect this man receives
I was saying that too.
Top 3 in the world 🌎
Burn is by far THE BEST Deep Purple's álbum!
Great interview. Great drummer and a lovely person. Everybody must see DP live , they are absolutley fab.
Thanks for watching the interview and check out the one we did with Roger when Whoosh was released
The Mark II lineup is by far the most talented musicians to ever grace the same stage. Ian is the most under-appreciated drummer in music.
That was an excellent interview. Ian Paice used to be seen as The Quiet One in Purple, but he's really outgoing and humorous.
Now he is but he is younger than the others, i can imagine the others were bossing around more.
ian paice, underrated since 1969, although more and more, lot's of drummers in there, appreciate what paice has done to this day!
LEGEND !!!
Such a down-to-earth guy, no pretence in what he does or says and, yet, an absolute genius behind the drum kit, truly one of a kind. And very nice interview, by the way
Thank you Ian for all you've done....❤❤❤
Thanks for listening
Superb drummer and all round great guy. Part of all our musical lives. Everyone remembers the first time they heard Machine Head. ❤
Especially, Highway Star!
Best drummer EVER!
Un copain musicien me disait "Ils sont authentiques" oui c'est vrai.. c'est pour ça qu'ils sont toujours là !..
This man is part of a handful of older drummers still alive that these younger people point to and say "I started playing drums because of him!"
God bless ya Ian.
Class act and great drummer. So many good tunes and the roots of the band. Love his drumming especially on Fireball.
...and the gym like adventure on the Burn album.
Ian, sell everything, enjoy your life and enjoy the now. It is all we have . x
As soon as I heard his first amazing fill on Black night, aged 12 .. he was my favourite drummer and still is and I’ve seen some amazing competition. … but he’s Ian 🥁Paice. 😀 There isn’t another one.
Ian, neben John Bonham, ein Drummer, der mich seit über 40 Jahren fasziniert! Eine lebende Legende!
Don't forget Cozy Powell and Bill Ward
@@Fuxerz 👍🤘
Great interview. Thank you, Ian... for a lifetime of music that first changed my life in 1970. I had the privilege of organising the soccer game at Centennial Park the day after the George Harrison show.
Paice
Mestre
Prob the drummer I've listened most to since 1971 or so
When I grow up I want to to play like Ian Paice. The man has an incredible feel.
Ian is the best.
Ian, you're not perfect, but you're perfect! :-) I really really really hope there's a new studio album coming soon. Bless you.
Cheers.
SO glad i watched this. Good to hear Ian talk about all this S73t!.. Paice is in my top 5 drummers! VV
thank you for watching and checking out the channel
Great interview...It's nice to see Ian interviewed by someone who obviously loves Purple!
thats for watching. Ian is certainly a fascinating person to have the opportunity to speak with
Deep purple my fave band
My favorite drummer, a humble man and a legend
Hello, from Moscow! I really happy to see Ian. Your music is perfect. I try to play some songs on sintezator. Burn, Sail away tomorrow, it's my favorite hits forever.
Ian Paice Ian Paice Alright
Legend
Awesome, what a legend.going to see them in November for the first time.
Toda la vida será un Grande Ian Paice!!
💜💜💜💜💜
Great interview!
Ian Paice assolutamente il N 1 al mondo. Nessuno è riuscito ad eguagliarlo. Figuriamoci a superarlo!!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I an paice is a monster. A genius on drums
Mr Pi ace énorme batteur 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎶🎶🎤👏👏👏👏
One of the great drummer in my generation
Such great drummer and a true gentleman.
Nice one.
Thank you! Cheers!
Best drummer ever!! Saw this wonderful band in Stockholm last year, better with age, like a fine wine

What a drummer he is!Ian Paice and Cozy Powell are my choice for best drummers.
Um dos maiores bateristas de todos os tempos, Ian Paice é um gênio.
I loved that Deep Purple beat - Ian Paice was the second best left-handed drummer in the biz
Thanks for posting this. Ian Paice at Caribbean Gardens, what a combination
Deep Purple are no longer on the tour. It’s Alice Cooper and Blondie now
@@Noise11channel Thanks, great channel. Hope CG still has the chairlift
What an hero you are Ian ... Phonemenal and seminal drummer, amazing and lovely person ... an absolute myth !
🚬😎 how cool

Bill Ward
@@Volume10StudiosBill was great. But he was not as technically developed as Ian and John.
❤❤❤👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Seen Ian a few times in The Gary Moore band. Gary’s best line up.
Love Ian?

That was such a great interview. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it! And thank you for watching
What's about new album?
I can't stand the double bass drum thing. All the drum tracks on albums these days sound the same. I much prefer old school drummers. Paicey, cozy powell, lee kearslake, bonzo, etc
You named my favourites too 👍
Cozy played double bass but yeah - within an overall amazing feel
🥁🎶
Ian Paice is the only reel rock and roll drummer in the metal world, not a Steve gadd, but just as good in his world of rock and roll
What's about the new album?
Sure, let's have another interview in 40 years' time. Personally, I will be 97, ahem...💀🪦
The very reason i do not like live albums by rock bands is due to the damn 'tinkering' therefore there is a lack of authenticity.
To me IAN PAISE th best drummer, u cant forget MADE IN JAPAN, N song space truckin
А я напишу больше КАК ЯН ПЕЙС И JEC DE JANET AND DEV WiEICKL THE BEAST DRUMS WOURLD.....

He is one of the best drummers all time. But the best was John Bonham from Led Zeppelin!😊
Im interested why you cant do what the fu+k you want
Real honest GREAT musician Respect
