Love Ian Paice.... not just one of the greatest rock drummers ever, but a really intelligent guy with things to say too. Re: the old analogue recording techniques of yesteryear.. V today's Pro-tools digital... I don't understand why the great artists like Ian Paice and Co, don't just record as they used to?! As crude as the "old multitrack tape approach" may have been compared to today's hi-tech "cut & paste digital approach"... the great classic rock albums of the 70s from bands such as Purple, Zeppelin, the Who, etc, etc... sound MUCH BETTER than anything today's bands are putting out.

Man Ian is just the best. I could listen to him talk about music all day. What an absolute treasure he is.

I love, love, love this old master. Bought Machine Head in1974, after a friend turned me on to Deep Purple. Thought I'd be a rock drummer. Didn't happen. Not even close. Went into the Air Force instead. Love you, Ian. You are, and will always be, THE MAN!

In my opinion, Ian Paice is "THE top dog" of all the old classic rock drummers of the day... (Bonham included). He had it all down! Technique; ability; skill; imagination and feel to boot! He had, and still has.. it all!

Loves how he's paying tribute and explaining dearly about the Steve Morse situation, and how they were like a fast train who unfortunately could not stop, hence finding a new guitarist.

I was born in Enfield London actually, calling in from Pevensey UK these days 60 miles south of London…First heard DP In Rock when I was 13 in 1976…Our mr. Paice was a genius on it. In fact everybody was….And we wish Steve all the best …..I don’t know what mrs Gillian is doing with these new lyrics these days…With ‘jerksville’,,’portable doors’ ‘pictures of people’ with free floating anxiety in their eyes taken as specific ‘guilt’ ,,,public houses beckoning ,,,’around the neck and twice round the deck changed faster than ever before’ ,,,,,’new vibes of people too good to be true , ‘you’re down and dirty watch the birdy ‘ ,Made to measure, the ‘real’ you showing up on your face’,,,your hair is weird too (thrown in for good measure) ‘working the crown’ ‘it’s simply because I like the rough’ ……It’s not exactly W. H Auden is it ? …It’s right up there with ‘one bottle a day of Scotland’s Finest.’ Or alongside the philosophical insight of ‘Hard Lovin Woman’ with its girating appendages,,,or indeed as morally edifying as that literary masterpiece ‘MITZY DUPRIS’ with all its bewildering accessories…Perhaps someone could educate our mrs Gilligan about the object of his current lyrical vitriol to set him straight in his dotage and confusion whoever could take this initiative would be greatly appreciated. Answers on a postcard to Meon , Pevensey ‘conspiracy theory debunking department ‘ …..Thank You everybody…(Paul) walters my Dad who is 90 next week and we share one computer.

Glad you mentioned musiс teaching and the difference between the students then and now. I teach the trombone in musical school, and yes, they have smaller attention, they think clip-like and TikTok-ish, they have ready forms in their phones and haven't a passion to create. It's catastrophe for mankind.
