This is a little stitch journal I made from an old book to fill with slow stitch pieces. I'll show it again when it's stuffed to bursting with stitched cloth.

I came across your channel as a random suggestion in TH-cam (I'm looking for ways and ideas in crafting without the fancy-schmancy tools) and just these handful of videos, at the time of writing, have already given me many ah-ha! moments for bunches of ideas I couldn't bring together. I really enjoy the casualness and simplicity. You seem like a cool lady I'd love to have as a teacher. 😁
This particular video hit home for me. As an artist lost in the crazy flows of life I've been stuck in my head and realised I should journal and "meditate" somehow. Nothing stays with me or sticks. I hate the forced writing even if its isn't supposed to be. Even sketching nothing really comes.
This idea of a stitch journal and being able to recall memories through touch, smell, just looking at collections of insignificant things makes so much sense to me! Thanks again! Now ill be off scouring the environment for a long lost book ❤

I feel your pain! 6 years in, we're still renovating, but the studio was a priority so that got done second, after bedrooms for the kids 😉😁❤️

Hi k3n. TH-cam made me discover your channel a few days ago. I first saw your interesting video on making the Japanese Rice Bag. And then (of course) I saw some more, on hand made journals, slow stitching, and so on ... I like doing such things too (all kinds of hand crafts and painting, etc.). So I subscribed and will start following you (also your Instagram).
You already inspired me to start tea-dying some fabric, from which I want to make such a Japanese type of (project) bag. I think I'll decorate it with some 'slow stitching' too. And maybe once I'll make a kind of book to put my vintage textile things in (now they fill a plastic box). But of course I'm 'busy' with some knitting, crochet and sewing projects now ...

The twining takes a little practice, but I have every confidence in you 😉 yes hope to do some ecoprinting when the leaves return here, but there will be tea and rust dyeing soon ❤️

Are you using the original pages and sticking over the originals or are you just using the cover and binding in New paper? Would love to see how you do this to understand how to get started.
Hello, I took all the original pages out and used only the spine. There are three journal making tutorials so far on my channel, in the Tutorials playlist, the most recent one called a Commonplace book uses old book covers and the Boro inspired journal and the stitch journal tutorials used a similar binding method to this one, though I made the covers from scratch. Maybe you can glean enough information from those to get you started. 😁 One day, I will do a tutorial showing how made this one as I have plenty more old book covers here. I was completly stucked with ramdom perceptions of what /how I wanted to do crafting stuff but not having a clue how to start developing that stream...You and your calming voice, slow meaningful stiching, creative asociations were (are) such a blessing to follow!
