I love when you do these NA foods videos at this time, Christina; it's so important to see and is _not_ frivolous. It reminds us that the genesis of colonial presence in the new world featured strife between native people and new arrivals, and that even when there was cooperation, it was fraught and impermanent. I appreciate that you delve in the intersection of current aboriginal familial issues and aboriginal land and resource control issues. The recipe looks fantastic and shows us that the people living here before all this myth-making began had a wholly American cuisine that deserves respect. Thanks for posting!

In Italy we have a creamy soup of chestnuts and pumpkin which is really nice. Never tried hazelnuts in a soup, I should give it a try. And I will definitely try to make amaranth crackers. Thank you for these recipes, I like to know more about other cultures!

Thank you for both sharing those recipes, they look increadable, and talking about how indigenous people are still getting treated as subhuman and antagonised in so very insidious ways. Whatever it concerns the Sàmi in northers Europe or the many tribes of america, the language and culture extinction in the British Islands it is a tragedy that people regard as a problem of the past, though it really is not.
