I think Klay would start how Gafford starts. Even if the Mavs pitched the same role he had with GS, he'd take it, because it's personal against the warriors

Yah. GS told him they can't give him a 4 year because they want to be flexible, but turned around and were ready to give PG a 4 year max

This would be viable. They might make this work.

Thank god you got a new mic! Not sure when you upgraded it but it’s so much better. No more clipping auto when you do P sounds. Now I can finally listen to your great breakdowns every time there a new video!

Naji is better than DJJ…. He had so many great qualities but seeing Naji have counters to get to the rim and create his own shot is so refreshing. No more Maxis!!!! I’m sick of watching guys with the deer in headlights look trying to find Luka and Kyrie at the end of the clock. Now go get Bogdan instead of Klay and we are good to go. We did not lose the finals because of defense…

@@BPS270 Why? Younger and he’s a playmaker and just as good from 3. He makes more sense. Defense is also a wash. Someone’s going to overpay Klay. If it’s us I will still be excited don’t get me wrong.

@@healthfadsfade funny part Is bogi Is old af too... and plays worse defense... bogi Is 32 while klay Is 34.... i would have both options but i'll trust Nico Harrison

@@healthfadsfade I guess us Mavs fans will never know 🤷‍♂️ we needed a knock down shooter in the finals we were relying on Pj Washington Josh green and Derrick jones jr too often to make 3s and that’s not their game now Klay will be wide open we don’t need him to be the old Klay just spot up and shoot can’t wait to see him go off

If Klay is comfortable filling the 6th man THJ role for 2 years and under 20 million a year... sign me up. But it sounds like those are the reasons he is leaving golden state

@@MrJulio1738Klay will not come off the bench. Mavs will probably start him but stagger his minutes with Luka and Kyrie. Hard to play huge minutes with 3 of them together.

Great show KG!! I am sold on the Naji Marshall Signing I think he’s a upgrade to what the mavs need to fit their system a good three point shooter more lengthy and can create his own shot and throw lobs let’s go mavs now just need 1more piece💙🤞🏽

Nobody is mentioning the passing skill that Naji has, he’s almost like a point guard passing all kind of ways, and is much more mature than DJJ and Josh Green or Hardy in terms of dribbling de ball to the basket, making floaters, or collaborating in distributing the ball around. The guy seems to me he could even be a point guard in an extreme situation

    • @KevinGraySports
      @KevinGraySports  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

He is a good ball handler and will definitely help in that area for sure!

The relationship between defense and offense for every player in the NBA is the difference between those two numbers. Points scored verses points allowed. If a player scores 40 points but plays no defense and lets his primary defensive responsibility to score 45 then you are a net 5-point negative. Defense in the NBA is all about effort, moving your feet and hands to stay in front of the assigned opponent. Luka, Kyrie, and Klay can play defense but the more effort they expend on defense means they will have less energy at the end of the games. But with a few more good role players the Mavericks should be able contend for NBA championships for the next four years.

So far im liking Grimes and Naji. Its like last season's acquisitions but better honestly. We traded for grimes who we can play in the playoffs instead of thj is sitting majority of it - thats another rotational piece. Naji replaced DJJ, another guy with length, scrappy defensively who shoots better. Less athletic but his physique makes up for it.
Now im excited for one more. And we still have some mle left. We still have vet min. Both can be used if were down roster spots from trading. Excited for the season

Bro Jalen Smith just signed to the bulls on a contract like naji's. I just watched his highlights and he's exactly what the mavs need so they can let go of maxi. 6'9", athletic, agile, can shoot the 3. Young.
Hopefully mavs can get him during the season

can klay be impactful even as a starter in Dallas? yes he can, would i bet on it happening? no.
i feel like luka can make him shoot more open standing catch and shoot 3s than what he did in gsw and i really think coach kidd makes every player better on defense than what they really are (djj and pj WERE NOT defensive spetialists when traded to dallas) ..... BUT klay is still a 34 y/o on the tail end of his career so i wouldn't like the trade but i'd trust in nico Harrison magic

Don't hope for klay he needs to keep his boating lifestyle so has to be on the west coast. Glamour, family, all these are factors. Also the Lakers' made the fewest 3 point attempts last season they are pitching him on that, Lakers needing more volume on 3s
