How can you compare a city with a population under 450,000 and 50 sq miles, to Los Angeles 4 million and 551 Sq miles with cost of living and traffic come on. Wait until the city gets to a million let’s see how well cost of living and how clean the streets are.
The number of people in the city isn't what is the reason for cost of living being high. If it were, the Chicago and Houston should cost as much to live in as Los Angeles. The cost is mostly due to decisions made by the government and influential citizens on how land can be used and how taxes are spent. LA would be much less expensive if they made it easier to build more housing.
