I don't know the actual formula or gear ratio vs force reduction to this. In simple terms; that fast-moving wheel unfortunately has no torque of any significance ( it can easily be stopped). He has traded torque for rpm's. This is the exact same design in tower clocks. In tower clocks though they use an 'escapement wheel/ pendullum' to regulate the speed of the falling weight. Thumbs up for the enthusiasm, but under a real load this would just grind to a halt.
Guess it's a good thing, that if you were to attach permanent magnets to the fast spinning gear, and add a few copper coils around it, that it would cause no kind of 'load' to the gear, But would still produce electricity, Which could be used to power an electric motor, That could handle a load 😎, like pulling the barrel back up in the air to reset everything 😎
It still have some torque though, it isn't zero. When you connect a generator to that wheel, it will slow down a bit but not stop, and you would get power. The torque on the fastest spinning wheel will increase though if the weight is bigger.
Make this thing like an “AmusementPark” ride, where you have the seats go around in a vertical cicle, the weight of the passengers would force it down in place of the drum weight. All they’ll have to do is climb a later to the top seats to keep it going. You could get young kids to do it as a form of play while generating usable electric ⚡️ power . 🤔

Could replace that drum with a platform and have people climb up/walk up a ramp and ride the platform down. None of this is free energy, but it’s an interesting method of active generation.

I made one 20 years ago, I am spinning 3 generator motors. To get the full rated output of 18,000 W peak from the generator heads I created an electric circuit to speed up or slow down the movement by switching gears to reach the desired speed. It has fully powered my 5th wheel travel trailer without many issues.

I think the real trick is to have many buckets and fill with smaller amounts of water. I am working on a water pump that uses a turning wheel to pump.
