    I dont think he was about to burst in laughter as some people here suggest. I read it as "thank you,it was a pleassure, goodbye" said without any words. I find it actually very nice and polite

    he is visiting famous performance artist Marina Abramovic's piece at the MoMa. She sits for 7 hours a day and stares at whoever sits across from her, not speaking or moving. I am not exactly sure what message she intends to convey with this piece, but more often than not, the person walks away crying.

  • @gabriellahiggins6994
    @gabriellahiggins6994 11 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I would just like to say that this video is not about James Franco and how lucky Marina Abramovic is to have had a moment with her. It's about two friends staring into each other seeing each other in nothing but who they are, raw. It's not about the people around it's about the people involved and the minute of peace one can have whilst staring into another's depths. This is about the art of humanity not about James Franco or about visual art.

    Narola: I find your comment so interesting, and the fact that you have so many positive responses to it as well. You see, I am an actor and an artist, and one of the most difficult things artists, actors in particular, have to do is learn not to judge the moments we inhabit. The urge to laugh arises out of basic human insecurity, and the need to judge what makes us feel unsafe. Actor's fight this in order to transform themselves for the stage. We should all fight this, in order to find true joy.

  • @Wolfkil1
    @Wolfkil1 13 ปีที่แล้ว +15

    Someone mentioned "staring contest" which is true. I think it is about staying "in character". This is probably the most difficult time to stay in character when you have no script to help you stay in character. James is a teacher as well as an actor and I think he knows this all too well.

    Its interesting that in our hectic lives we rarely take a moment to stop dead still and just breathe, reflect, observe. When we stop dead there is a moment of peace is there not? A definitive period of time in which we occupy a space and simply just are. I havent read about Marina and what she was aiming at but for me it made me reflect on my own inner turmoil and examine the movement inside my head. Although they are both stationary clearly there is still some movement inside.

    I know I am just an ignorant hic from Mississippi, but I don't get it.
    We use to play a game called "stare-out" when I was kid, never thought of it as "Art" and we only played it when we had to stay inside the house but had to be quiet.

    • @ryanhebert6657
      @ryanhebert6657 10 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      It's fine that you don't get it. I used to play the game "stare-out" too, but this is something completely different. Marina is staring at whoever sits in front of her and is projecting unconditional love on to everybody who sits in front of her. She treats them all with the same equal amount of respect. And it has been recently discovered by scientists that it is possible to project feelings on to other human beings without direct communication using forms of telepathy. that's what this performance is all about.

    • @noahcorpus6609
      @noahcorpus6609 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Scientist have proved telepathy exist?

    • @ryanhebert6657
      @ryanhebert6657 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      When I say "forms of telepathy" I don't mean the sci-fi form that many people think of. It's more of a synchronicity between two people (marina, and the viewer).

      She is the thief taking credit for something that's been done for 2500 years in Buddhism.. the teacher.. the great teacher and or lama before he does an important teaching will come out ,sit down and very calmly lock eyes with one person and they will have a silent conversation ..he will look at them lovingly or knowingly.
      .... then he will look at another person and do the same thing and then another person ,another person, and another person.. this is nothing new ..
      ...does she give credit where credit is due. She mention this ?
      .....of course not... that's what art thieves ..do they NEVER GIVE CREDIT to where they actually got their IDEAS...
      ....stupid people think she's a genius... please look at the videos of her with the SPIRIT COOKING writing on the walls in PIG'S BLOOD... Blood and Guts ...it is so SICKENING
      ...and then look at the vids of her with the CANNIBAL CAKE party where they take a giant knife and CUT OUT the FAKE HEART out of what looks like a real live Human woman and then they EAT THAT FAKE HEART and the rest of the body...
      .... she knows what she's doing and that it is a mock but symbolic satanic Human Sacrifice ritual she gets the public to participate in.
      ... stupid people stay and smile for the cameras... the smart ones say eff this sick shit ...I'm out of here.
      Look for the video of Thomas Sheridan who was the male witch who says the same thing about her that she knows exactly what she's doing

      I hope not. I haven’t seen enough videos to agree that he is but he is cause he’s my favorite actor but he might have taken the path of evil like most of them. But idk he just doesn’t give off that vibe. It almost seems like he was offered a spot in her art since she’s well known and he took it. He is the producer for most of the movies he’s in. That’s why he’s in so many

    My uncle's an electrician. He's a very clever man and earns a lot of money from the job. More than most people with an office job (unless they're high up in the company). His mother is an architect and his father is a psychologist. They're both bookish, quiet and pretty wealthy, just like their electrician son.
    I know you want to appear clever but your assumptions have let you down on this occasion.

    From appeal to praise. To applause to life. Sounds and connections. To obession to evil lust. I wonder what will change for this in mind...belief in love and truth seem to be far from the heart I guess...what else could I believe in? Pizza or...light...health and betta fighting fish. But love is beautiful. So is the meaning in joy that we find in others. Takes time to have or make friends. Even family or country tries to teach us that. But wisdom is justified by all her children. Yeah go and read most of the products we buy and their sayings that help us be inspired. And wisdom is a being in life that did not give up on us as well.
