      Yes I've seen videos on TH-cam of peoples dogs being taken by crocs in North Queensland it's so heartbreaking I can't understand why people would take their dogs swimming in the ocean poor babies 😭💔

    I was there in october 2019 for a few days.
    Definitively scary to enter in the water because of salt crocos
    I just put my toes on the water.
    What a pity because the sandy beach is just amazing.

    I've seen crocodile tracks on Palm Cove and Ellis beach people need to understand the beaches look beautiful but they are empty for a reason Do not swim in Far North Queensland it's not worth losing a limb or your life ❤ .

    Thank you so much for a great informative video. I am coming from Victoria and assumed due to having life savers and the net, swimming would be somewhat safe. It seems not?
    I am already scared for my snorkling trip on the reef, this nakes me wonder if this is safe too? Can you shed any light? Very pumped to go and will now sit on the beach rather than swim! But would love to know if the reef is safe on a tour...your video just blew my mind that it says you can swim, yet as you mentioned, not safe... thanks for a great vid!

    • @vintagefoodfarm
      @vintagefoodfarm  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much!!! So glad you enjoyed it!!!🤠I would love to give you solid information but who knows!!😁They say the reef is safer and you will have suits on for stingers but ask the snorkeling company for the most accurate assessment. What ever you decide you will have an awesome time I am sure!!!! 😁

    Hi. Thanks for your vids. May i check if parking is free or expensive in Cairns, eg at the Esplanade, beaches. Kuranda Markets etc? TQ

    • @vintagefoodfarm
      @vintagefoodfarm  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Awesome!!! Glad you liked the videos!!! 😁
      Parking is free everywhere except in the Cairns CBD where it is very cheap. If you get the "easypark app" it makes it very easy lol. I think the absolute max you will pay is $3 in the CBD (if you can call it that). It is free in the CBD on Sundays and any day in the center of the road parking bays. Outside of the CBD it is all free i.e. beaches, Palm Cove, Kuranda, Port Douglas etc etc. It is easy to get a park anywhere. There is also a council parking lot next to the courthouse with paid parking for RV's that is approx. $5 a day from memory 😊

      Thanks for yr reply. That's fantastic news. So, I will be more inclined to rent a car. Will be there in May 2024. Would it be possible to self drive and visit the Kuranda and Daintree on our own? I saw that tour packages to these places are quite costly. Also, is it better to book Great Barrier Reef trips online or in Cairns City upon arrival? Wld it be cheaper on the spot? Thanks for yr advise. @@vintagefoodfarm

    • @vintagefoodfarm
      @vintagefoodfarm  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Definitely rent a car and drive yourself!! Not only will it be a fraction of the cost it will be way nicer and you can go at your own pace and see more😁I think it is cheaper to book online because there is more competition 😁🥳Have fun organising!!! 😁

    You make it sound like the beach is thick with crocodiles which is clearly not the case. Plenty of crocs in FNQ but not so much on the beach in PC. The stingers pose all the risk really when they’re around.

    • @vintagefoodfarm
      @vintagefoodfarm  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Breath......😊Not thick but they are 100% there! We lived there for 5 years and locals would see them most mornings in Deadman's Gully. There are usually traps set up. There are signs up whenever there is a sighting which is very often. The waterhole near the Alamanda often has a croc and dogs get taken a few times a year on early morning walks. Hercules lives there and the 6 croc signs along the beach are there for a reason. Have a chat with Surf Rescue. They had one there during the ironman when there were 100's of people on the beach a couple of years ago
      fb.watch/rk78qqmxL8/
      Every single beach in the Cairns area has crocs. There was one at Ellis the other day. Wangetti has them very often where croc slides can be seen every morning. Kewarra also. Have a look at some local FB groups. Maybe go to Hartley's Croc Adventures for a great day out and ask Drew the croc expert about them. Crocs aren't elitist 😁They are at Palm Cove😊😊😊 I won't go on about stingers😁

      Hi Jenson! 😁Far North Queensland (FNQ) stretches from Cardwell, south of Innisfail, to the Torres Strait Islands. Palm Cove is about 25 mins drive from Cairns 🤠🌴Have a great day!
