Aye, the thing is that these teams like Kelty and Cove have all ambition to go places, far more than what many clubs in the lower half of the SPFL which just seem to have no plan other than just to have wheeze along and pretty much get what they deserve with no ambition for their supporters. I do predict over the coming decade that the lower half of the SPFL will be very different with, hopefully, new teams that will have big ambitions to win silverware.
Looking at Kelty Got to wonder how long they can keep spending the money they are. Can't see them ever attracting a couple o thousand fans and it will be very difficult for them to develop the ground given where it is. Remember Gretna.
@@bencarmichael2151 Look at clubs like Falkirk and Partick Thistle who have close to the highest budgets in their current leagues however not fulfilled their expectations . Seems to only be an issue for people like you when a football team North of Stirling is progressing well and not all Central Belt based.
@@arejaycee5484 between winning the title, the mini ultras becoming famous and the fact they are new blood in the SPFL, I think Kelty have gained a good few admirers and what with Cowdenbeath dropping out the league might get a very good support in the local area these days

The Pyramid system is a great thing and much better than the old closed shop system where clubs had to wait for a league expansion or a club folding and then being elected to the league. To be honest, I'd like to see not just one and and one down with a 2 round play off, but one up and down to / from the Highland League and one up and down to / from the Lowland League every season. I think that would bring even more excitement and teams like Kelty and Cove Rangers have shown what is possible.

Kelty have a similar color of jerseys as Sparta. I like it. It's good that young guys go to support their local club. I'm just glad they don't use pyro in the stands, due to their age. That would be too dangerous for them.
I remember when I played for Inverness city we played Kelty in the junior Scottish cup about 9 years ago when I was 16 good to see them doing well fair play to them

top video and lovely to see so many youngsters at a footy game. but i have to say... the level of scottish footy is atrocious lol. the fact these decent little village teams are almost on a par with scottish champ teams is staggering. I don't mean to take anything away from anyone. if anything it should give highland/lowland teams a boost. almost any team can fly up the scots leagues!

Difference between this and Gretna is that Gretna demise was caused by Brook's family pulling the plug on the investment into the club after he fell ill
Kelty are a model club, run well by people who care about the club, modern, youth focused in terms of fans & they spend their money in right areas, other clubs should take note rather than dropping down to money clichès.
