Btw, didn't this one play in that epic prequel scene, when Aizen & Ichimaru oh so cleverly arranged the Shinigami grauations so that most of the cadets would get slaughtered by a "mysteriously" sudden invasion of BIG Hollows, and then, in last second, the TWO arrived, naturally slaughtering the H-s, and generally hoping to have an easy time recruiting the survivors under their fold? (Renji, Rukia, Kira, Momo... I believe?)
I glad Ganjo switched place with Hanataro. Poor kid I would not imagine how awful it would been if Hanataro had to face Byakuya's bankai. But yeah, any victim should feel sad for be Byakuya's enemy.

Hanataro would’ve died there and then. Ganju is physically tougher and more durable than him so it was better for him to go.
