Thank you for posting these! I just bought some seeds and I live up in the northern hemisphere I wanna do the primroses to go next to our mailbox. Do you have any videos on growing flowers next to your mailbox?
I have these in the yard. Since they're native here there's little care needed regarding water and fertilizer and I don't have to seed them . They come back year after year.
Hi Grischa. I keep the tray of seedlings indoors in a bright warm place but not in direct sunlight. I harden the plants off over a week just before planting out. I plant out when the danger of frost has passed (2nd week in June where I live in the UK.) Keep safe.
Hi Janet. I leave mine to die back in winter and they come back strongly next year. I have also cut them back at end of growing season. Both methods worked. Keep saffe.
@@LearnHow2 Thank you. I've looked at a lot of gardening videos on TH-cam but I have to say yours are the best. Straightforward, no faffing and informative.
I have been trying to grow the Evening Primrose (probably oenothera albicaulis) from seed and have had no luck. Do you know of any special rules for that species?

I’ve just been given a pack of seeds, can I just plant in seed tray and leave inside until it starts growing?
Wilko seeds all the way!!!
Ha Ha. I always use them. They are low price and I rarely have any germination problems. I should get them to sponsor my channel :)

Do you have to use a fluorescent light when grow indoors? Thank you.
If growing indoors I always put my plants on a south facing window cill so never need a lamp.
Great video. Once germinated where do you place the tray of seedlings? Also do you harden them off? When do you plant them out?
thank you

Thanks for this video - how do you care for them when flowering is finished. Are they cut back to ground level?

I have collected seeds from a plant. Do I need to do anything special with the seeds? Cold storage, dry them ?
I have not done this but I believe you should plant them straight away. Keep safe.

Hi Sumaira. Here in the Uk I start the seeds early spring (March). Keep safe.

How many days does it take from seed to bloom?
Seeds planted on 8th March. First flower 2nd August.
Is it a perennial? Thank you
The variety I grew is 'Oenothera Missouriensis'. A google search showed that it is a perennial.
They look to big to be Oenothera biennis the common evening primerose
Thank you for your observation.
