Hey Sarah!! Just want to let you know you can buy an induction burner converter type product to use any pan on the induction burner. It’s basically like a stainless steel disk with a handle that you put directly on to the induction burner and then put your pan on top!
I love that you are sick and staying active when you can. It's so important to do that!
I LOVE the “it’s alive” serious! It’s interesting, brad is hilarious, and I watch them over and over. They need to put one out everyday honestly. love you too!
i know you said you're sick, but you are literally glowing in this vid!! so pretty
rubyblue ikr
The bangs are super cute!!
Thank ya!
Hope you feel better soon!! I like the bangs especially when your hair is in the bun. I’m not even vegan but I’m obsessed with your channel I’ve watched almost every vid🧡🧡🧡
thank you! :)
Climbing is so fun! I train religiously for it, and I’ve never felt more fit! I’m glad to hear you’re climbing!
I've been fighting cold bugs as well. What has helped is eating raw garlic on toast with olive oil. Lemon juice. Green salads. Enjoyed your video. Hope you feel better.
I hope that you'll feel better soon! And your foods always look good!
thank you! i already feel a bit better!
I LOVE your bangs. You are so cute! I loved doing the couch to 5k program, now even after a year or so of not running consistently I can still run a 5k comfortably. I love watching you and knowing that you live so close to me and are spreading the vegan message. :)
I have a large integrated induction cooker. I love it! It’s just as responsive as gas but so much safer to use and easier to clean. It is annoying buying new cook wear, but you just pick up bits and pieces as you go along.
probably not likely that I will get a reply, but it's worth a shot! this is the end of my first week being vegan and wondered if you had any advice on how to make sure I'm getting all of the nutrients I need. I'm such a picky eater and I find myself just constantly eating potatoes and beans and rice. By the way, you put out amazing quality content. Hope you feel better, Sarah.
Induction is soooo good! Heats up in no time and is very easy to work with
Hey girl! The butane burners are really quiet. We used them in culinary school. I like them because it's easier to control heat versus an induction burner. It's a little inconvenient to keep buying butane canisters but one canister last pretty long while. Also I rarely soak my beans because I always forget 😅 but they still turn out really good. I just soak them for 5 to 10 minutes and then give them a thorough rinse. I almost feel like the beans have a deeper flavor when they are not soaked.
I've also been watching the It's Alive series! Your food looked delicious -- I hope you feel better!
Hope you’re feeling better now. I’m really grateful you showed us the cooktop. I’ve been going back and forth as well. I guess I rather deal with a little noise, than butane gas tanks in my house. Sounds a little scary to me. Your onesie was super cute!! 3:30 ish on Sunday and I am officially in pj’s. 😺👏🏼
For Christmas I got a Pressure Pro 8 Qt. Electric pressure cooker. I absolutely love it! I make all my beans from scratch, it's so easy to use and clean up! Just wish I would have got one sooner. I have gotten rid of my rice cooker and all 3 of my crock pots as this machine also does slow cooking and is a rice cooker as well, not to mention you can can in it! I just love it and would recommend one!
i don't have a stove and ive been using the nuwave induction cooktop for the last 2 years and it's amazing! heats up super quick and you don't have to keep buying those gas things. i got some of my pots and pans from marshalls too, a trick i used was if i could find a magnet that stuck to the bottom of the pan then it's induction compatible.
The editing on those videos makes them so much fun to watch. It's just little touches that make me chuckle.
aw thanks! glad you enjoy. :)
I really hope you kept the burner and pan I've seen them on TV with the chefs they amazing I will be purchasing as well 👍👍👍😃💛
loving the bangs on you! hair cutting videos on youtube are very addictive so I definitely understand the impulse to cut your own
Pro tip: bring a magnet with you, and touch it to the bottoms of whatever pan you're looking for. All it needs is a strong magnetic pull - doesn't matter if it's labeled as "induction compatible". The stronger the pull, the better it works.
This was so therapeutic and uplifting while on my treadmill this morning. Thank you!
Love the bangs on you. Also, i make a big batch of beans then freeze in smaller amounts, so I can pull them out as I need. That way I don't have to think about what I'm cooking the day before.
That's a great idea. Sometimes I make big batches of beans and they go bad before I can use them all.
Omgoodness what a GOOD IDEA to prep all the veggies so they are ready to go. I work full time as a caregiver (cooking, cleaning and caring for a sweet 92 old man...so Im all cooked out by the time I get home)...This tip would totally help me not have random dinners because Im so tired and dont feel like chopping. Good idea! Im a cheap scape and refuse to buy prechopped/prepped fruit and veggies. Lol
That beet sandwich looks really good and very different. I use a Cosori 2 quart electric pressure cooker instead of an instant pot. It's perfect for one person and makes yogurt as well as everything else. That salad looks really good too. Push fluids, Sara, and I hope you are all well soon.
I love my Copper Chef pans! They do not stick..no need for oil or liquid, unless the recipe calls for it. I also LOVE the bangs!
Not sure if someone else mentioned this about copper cookware, but you need to be careful about cooking anything acidic (like tomatoes) in them, as it can cause the copper to be leached into your food. If you buy copper pots, make sure they're lined in stainless steel or another non-leachable material (most are, but some bargain brands aren't). But copper does conduct heat evenly and quickly, so they are a great option!
I never remembered to soak beans either but a few months ago I started soaking and cooking dried beans in bulk and then freezing them. LIFE-CHANGING. 10/10 would recommend ;)
i need to do this for sure.
I like the bangs!
thanks! :)
I'm sure you've discovered by now, but I absolutely LOVE my copper cookware. They are incredible and cook things so well, while being non-stick. LOVE.
Girl, I feel ya. I'm fighting the exact same thing. This cough is the worst! I've been sick since Thursday and I swear today has been the worst.
feel better soon!
FYI Its easy to burn food cooking on one of those induction burners. You have to keep the food moving or it burns easily. I use one at work everyday. Sidenote: we have a copper griddle that works really well for tofu.
Dood. I haven't watched you in like...weeks (been busy, k?) but I remember not THAT long ago you were right around 10K subscribers and now you are at 171K WHATT?! That is so freaking cool. Glad to be back and actually have time to watch again :)
Your body was definitely craving the immense veggie overload from the salad and even the beets. Loved all the impromptu recipes! Super creative.
Love your laid back style, and I'm loving the chattier vlog-style what i eat in a day vids!
glad you enjoyed! :)
Onesies are life! Can we just have a onesie party? Love what you said about challenging yourself to get better at running. I (Dev) have been on a mission to do that since last summer and the progress has felt so good!
Haha YES onesie party sounds amazing. And I love the progress too! It's amazing and super empowering.
I really like the Masterclass cookware! I have a few pieces and they make cooking tofu in sauces soooooo easy, plus it takes basically one minute to clean them.
I love the copper pans. It is true. They need no oils, but any oil or vegan butter becomes more of a flavor option. Nothing sticks to it. But be sure to get the one that is scratch resistant. Oh, there are some TH-cam test videos on them.
I hope you feel better.
Induction is the way to go. More consistent, even heat for a small burner. And butane is just such a waste. I've seen those Masterclass pans at TJMaxx and have always been intrigued!
Love the bangs! Also, I've used copper cookware but after a few months, food started to stick on one side. Hope that helps :) love your videos!
The bangs look great, I think that induction is great and I would invest in some cook wear that is compatible.
Everything looked delicious! And I LOVE the bangs on you! Super cute!
Really love this style of video! & your bangs look really good!
I have an Induction stove top (with convection oven) and it's the BEST, seriously! Yeah, the single "burners" are a a little loud. If you keep it, just piece together pots and pans and keep the videos coming!
Damn I feel you. I just got over a bug. Feel better soon Sarah.
I love the bangs!!!
thank you!
I feel like you need an animal friend in your videos! ❤️ like a cute cat or dog. Also LOVING the bangs and new apartment layout
All Clad is our favorite to use! Keep checking back at Marshalls/ TJmax you can find them there. I stand by All clad NONSTICKS. They are amazing.
I hope you're feeling better! I just got done with not feeling well, I had a canker sore on my tonsil. I'm sending good vibes!
thank you! i'm feeling better now. i'm glad you're doing well now :)
Thank you! Me too! :)
I would love to use my inductiom burner for videos but i stick to the gas because ya the fan on the induction is SO LOUD. i just use the cheapo one you can find at Asian grocery stores ans get butane cans. Its a good time :)
I ended up returning the induction cooktop and getting a gas burner too! I'm super excited to have it because my normal stove isn't gas, so I can do wok cooking and stuff now!
ALTHOUGH if I ever do hands & pans voiceover videos (which is rare) i'd use induction because then sound doesnt matter and it is more ecofriendly its just annoyingly loud lol
I love bangs - I cut them and then grow them out! Story of my life. Get the less expensive cookware, save your money for other stuff. I have some All-Clad but tend to use my copper pans (cheap) more.
Do you have a link for the reuseable cup you have? Awesome video! It would be so cool if you have some instant pot videos. I plan to get one soon and I haven't been the best at working with dried beans.
Love how u unloaded that avocado. Saves a spoon! Great idea! 👍👍
Omg I’m so glad you pronounce Kombucha the way we do! I heard the actual way is “com-boo-ka” not “cha” but I like Kombucha pronounced with the cha better.
I really like the pan you got. We have some of those and they work great eat.
Plus I love your bangs.
Also, where the heck did you get those big containers? That’s what I’m lacking. I have lunch containers but I really really need larger ones.
I honestly think it is worth getting a dutch oven! I got one from Homegoods for 25 dollars and it has completely changed the way I cook! not only can you use it on the induction top, theyre oven safe and I personally love it when I am making seitan.
That reuben beet sandwich looks bomb!!! And btw, your bangs are so cute 😭❤
thank you! the sandwich is so good! beets are my fave :)
I ran to Trader Joe's and got the cashew butter and rice cakes and omgomgomg it is so good! Thank you so much for the idea!
You can also buy an induction disk so you can still use your other pots and pans
On the green bean you should only cut off the end that was attached to the vine. The thin dark end has more iron in it than the whole rest of the bean.
Oooh! Didn't know that, thanks for the info :)
I feel you look prettiest with bangs especially in the bun hairstyle 😍😍😍
Love them bangs! Also, never thought about putting roasted veggies on salad, will try. It's a good idea esp for winter! :)
Also, crock pots work great for beans!!! I use it all the time
I think you should go with those little burner with butane .”Peaceful cuisine ” is one of my favorite TH-cam channel and the the guy uses one of these burner.
Your meals always look SO GOOD that salad looks amazing! Do you have any videos that are geared toward bringing food into work? I bring my own lunch to work everyday and have no means to heat it up so I’ve gotten kind of stuck with what to make because I want it to be whole foods based but so much of what I make is meant to be eaten right out of the oven or stove
I will try to do some videos about food that can easily be heated and packed for work/school!
Look into mini crock pots too. You just plug it into a wall and it heats your food.
Sarah's Vegan Kitchen that’d be amazing thank you!
i like your videos with the zoomed in food!
Love the hair! You will not regret an instant pot, I use mine daily. Excited to see your views on the HFF book. I've made a few things from it already and they have all been awesome. Also I did the C25K, it's brilliant. I have never been a runner but it made me really enjoy it!
So glad to hear c25k worked for you. I'm finally starting to enjoy it too! and absolutely buying an instant pot very soon.
I know this video is kinda old now but I LOVE the red copper cookware. It's my fave. It's extremely non-stick!
I love how you look in that thumbnail! Your new hairstyle is pretty cute too.
The „ live-cook-with-me“ idea sounds really good to me. A style similar to the Brothers Green would be really cool 👍
I wish you the best of health! Today my throat feels kinda scratchy... hopefully I don‘t get sick as well... I wanna start taking singing lessons this week... I need my voice 😅
aw no! i hope you feel better very soon!
Copper pans don’t work, maybe for the first couple uses.. but after awhile it starts to wear and erodes against the wooden or silicone spatchulas. Also, with an instant pot you don’t have to soak your beans :)
you are not alone i am all the way in jamaica and i am having the same symptoms. but been feeling better today. Get well babe.
Feel better too! :)
Your bangs are so cute! They fit you well. I can't wait to see your review of the hot for food cookbook. I never buy cookbooks (between TH-cam and online recipes, not really a need) but I had to get it! And I got to meet Lauren on her book tour so that was awesome. C25K is amazing! I did it last year despite not being a runner at all. Fantastic program for all types of people.
aw that's amazing! jealous that you got to meet lauren! and i'm so excited to hear c25k worked out for you. definitely going to make sure i see it through this time around.
I work in a small restaurant and we don't have a stove top, just seven butane portable burners, it works with anything, safe in doors. But you would have to replace the butane somewhat often.
I ended up getting the butane burner! I'me excited to use it!
Stainless is the only way to cook. Sadly, I had to quit coffee. I can handle black and green tea, but water is my safest drink. Thanks for the videos.
I’ve got that masterclass pan but in a different color. It’s a GAME CHANGER. in fact, my roommate wants to hit up a Marshall’s/HomeGoods just so see how much of his current set he can replace with those.
I do like it! I've never used any cookware that's this material but it's really nice, especially for the price.
I also purchased a more familiar looking nonstick pan from the same brand...it's enormous. While it's great, I prefer the one you show here to the other one. Nothing.sticks.period. I cook all kinds of glazed sticky tofu in it with no problems! The larger one is nearly as good, but its size is a bit of a draw back. And you're so right, the price is AMAZING for the quality...
Unrelated...I've also binged through BA's It's Alive. I really wanna try that fermented pineapple drink soon!
Just fyi, Walmart (and probably even Target) has electric burners (hotplates) that don't require special cookware, if you don't want to have to buy all new cookware. Usually near coffee pots and electric tea kettles. They even have 2 burner models.
I quick soak my beans! Because I also never remember, and I can’t with the cans anymore because they’re so mushy. Take ya dried beans, bring them to a boil with ample water then immediately turn off. Let soak for an hour or two. Drain rinse then cook!
I also impulsively cut bangs this month... because why tf not really...
Love your videos! Would love to know where you got that pink tank you’re wearing in the beginning. :D
Ah I really like these vlog type videos, just showing us what's happening in your life or getting to know you!
As for the induction burner, it is quite loud so using it for cooking live may be a bit distracting. I'd say just use your stove top!
thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the vlog :)
I really hope you see this! I cook a pot of beans every week, never plan when, and soaking is not necessary. Bring to a boil with all of your seasonings including salt (no salting is a myth). Once boiling, pop into a 250 degree oven for 70 min (for pinto, black, red and white beans), garbanzos may take a little longer.
You can also just put beans and seasoning in a slow cooker on low for 6-8 hours.
I will give it a try! I've never tried not soaking them.
I learned it from Cooks Illustrated Test Kitchen a few years ago and never looked back.
Yes!!! I decided ~2 yrs ago that attempting to run + feeling like sh*t was better than doing nothing + feeling like sh*t so I did the C25K app as well! Fast forward to now where I have a 9:30min/mile 5K pace and actually enjoy running! Anything is possible, lol
Dang that's awesome! I'm so excited to get to a point where I can run for 20 minutes comfortably. Definitely not there yet, but slow and steady. ;)
Feel better soon, Sarah! ❤️
I’d scrap the burner and just set your camera up to film on the stove! Love the bangs!
I live in India and cook exclusively on a butane stove - its awesome. It's got great temp control and its not a problem to use inside.
Awesome! Thanks for the feedback!
yes!!! i LOVE It's Alive! Brad is the best!!!
Like the new format! Nicely done!
the bangs are so cute!!!
thank you!
I love your bangs!!! ❤️
Literally just clicked away and watched all of the episodes of It's Alive... 3 hours later and I'm back!
Bangs are so dang awesome on you. I have the stone earth frying pan by Ozeri got it on amazon and it’s the best pan I’ve ever had. No oil needed. Nothing sticks! I’ve also got the expensive Copper pans and I honestly can’t say the same thing about them. Also I have owned two of the induction stoves and if you use a bigger size pan than the stovetop it will melt the sides. I have pictures. Wish I could send you.
the gas stove with the butane cans work great indoors & it's super fast
Bangs! The bane of my existence! I love them for a day or so and then I get really frustrated with them. 😅 You do look so cute with them though!
So many different hair 'styles'. You rockin gurl
Girl yaaaaaaaas hiking! :D trying to get back to it as well :)
I drove an hour away just to buy tahini to make the dressing! Lol can’t wait to try it! Will it work with coconut aminos instead of liquid aminos? I should have bought the liquid aminos when I went but I didn’t know you used that also. I hope it comes out as good as yours!
I'm making the cauliflower sandwich on the cover tonight! Do you like the Jocco cup I'm looking for a new one and can't decide between that one or a clean kanteen cup:)
I highly recommend an Instant Pot; pinto beans cook up so soft and creamy, in under an hour. I use mine at least 3x a week.
Have you tried the amazing grass alkalize and detox green powder?
I use a small electric hotplate burner. It's silent, but idk if you can find a good one for large pans with good temp control. I have the single burner by IMUSA but I think they also have double burners with diff sizes. Just an idea.
