The jorts dilemma is so relatable, I have thick thighs so most wider shorts just fit me like regular shorts. The first time I saw the trend I was like yeah that's simply not going to work on me. If my gut reaction was "nope" I wasn't going to get them. I'm impartial to just like a mid-length, mid-rise short, that fits my body much better than the adam sandler look.
The Adam Sandler part has me CACKLING LOL! 💀 And You are definitely better than me because I knew it was not gonna work on me but still joined in on the trend 😭
What you can do with your COSRX products, is the following (at least that's what I do when skincare is doing me more harm than anything else, but I don't want to just throw it out):
-creams or moisturisers: use them on your feet or as a hand cream.
-lotion: if it contains any form of alcohol I use it to clean the spout and handle of the kitchen and bathroom faucet (on an old cloth, just a little splash),it works wonders! (yeah and we put that on our faces..facepalm..)
-facescrub: I use it as a foot-or knee scrub.
For the sandals: rub a bit of vaseline on the upper,inside straps and maybe also the toe-part, it helps lessen the friction.

my low-buy year is targeted towards books😔 i work in a book shop and omg… i have so many that i have not even OPENED!!! i’m not gonna buy any more until i have read at least half of the books i already own
Any of the items you mentioned (even the skincare) could be sold on a resale site like Poshmark. As long as you mention that it’s used or any flaws, someone might still want it. Keep the money you earn in the app, and then that could be your shopping budget for the occasional purchase in 2024.

i recomend opening a depop girl!! i think it'd be a nice way of getting rid of some clothing pieces you regret purchasing whilst also giving it a new home🫶

I realized this summer when I went to Korea that a lot of the kbeauty brands famous in the US e.g. COSRX aren’t rlly that popular or the best functioning kbeauty products (my working theory is the best ones do well enough in korea/Asia that they don’t rlly prioritize expanding overseas…?) I’d rec look on Olive Young Global by your skin care concerns for more niche&better products bc the US famous kbeauty stuff r imo v often overrated and there’s so many better ones out there ❤

this was fun! actually comforted me in my decision not to get the jorts i was only half feeling in the thrift store dressing room lol. i'm also trying a low buy! i'm trying to only buy one item of clothing/accessory etc per month this year i'm excited to see how it'll go. i feel like even if you have moving expenses you could still do a few no buy months later in the year if u wanna challenge yourself once you've gotten into the groove of your new life.

I loved polo bear! I had a polo bear hoodie 5 years a go, sold it and regret it so much, but I also use paula's choice exfoliator, it does wonders!

Hi! I'm not sure if anybody has mentioned it already, but if you have an allergy to dust mites or shellfish then it's probably why you had a reaction to the cosrx products. It has to do with a similar enzyme found in snail mucin and dust mites. I've never tried the cosrx products because of this, got a bad dust allergy.

Honestly, I have bad skin as well, and my best decision a few years back was just to go to a skin specialist. I now use medical grade skincare (the ones you can only by at pharmacies like La Roche-Posay, Dermaceutic etc.) and it's a world of difference. It's just as expensive as the luxury brands, but at least you know it actually works 'cuz a specialist looked at your skin and made a personalized plan. Instead of hoping the K-beauty rituals works.
tysm for speaking about the y2k sandals, i keep eyeing them... now I have two very valid reasons for not getting them:
1. pain
2. the odds I'll still like them by next spring are TOO low 🤕

This is my first video of yours I am watching and I wanted to say how much I enjoyed it! I’m a WOC and have struggled with hyperpigmentation for the majority of my adult life and honestly what CHANGED my skin is the ordinary hyperpigmentation serum and their AHA peel. I’ve tried an insane number of products to try to tackle it but this duo is the only one that has resulted in it ACTUALLY FADING! Either way, you look amazing-just thought I’d share what has been helping me 😊
Wait, which hyperpigmentation serum exactly 👀 because I think the ordinary have multiple types. I tried one of their hyperpigmentation serum like a year and a half ago and it didn't work for me😭 (i'm just glad it didn't break me out lol) But maybe I didn't pair it with the right products.
I wanna try out the duo you did when my Paula's choice exfoliant runs out (its too expensive for me to repurchase lol).
It’s the “alpha arbutin 2% + HA”! Basically my routine now is: wash face, one noxzema acne pad to keep the acne away (I used to have cystic acne in college which oof you mix that with hyperpigmentation and it’s likeeee) then I use the hyperpigmentation serum, let it sit in for 2 mins while I brush my teeth, then I follow up with the bubble “day dream” tone and texture serum (girl my skin is baby soft bc of this) and then the elf moisturizer. I do this day and night and I can’t even explain how much my skin has changed in a MONTH. Highly highly recommend!

If you’re struggling w dark marks and hyperpigmentation, give Bentonite clay a try. You can mix it w an acid like lemon juice of apple cider vinegar (if your skin is heartier) or water (if your skin is more sensitive), and it’ll help to even your skin tone w/o lightening or bleaching. It also helps w acne and other breakouts. Just make sure you moisturize well after bc it’s very drying. There’s a lot of tutorials here on TH-cam and probably TikTok too.

I have a similar skin type. I use a zinc wash for acne and use some lactic acid and retinol to get rid of hyper pigmentation.

See if there’s a buy nothing group in your new town! Not that you shouldn’t buy anything for the new place (of course you’ll need to) but buy nothing/ everything is free groups often have so much stuff available to set you up and will save you lots of money.
Also for the “surprise” clothing items you don’t know you need yet for a different climate, local buy nothing groups can be great. I could not get a solid pair of winter boots for the wetness of the northeast until I got a pair from there instead, because the folks that have lived here for years know what works :)

i was soooo close 2 buying the jorts, but i had the same dilemma w it jst not working 4 my build. im heaviest in my gut nn thighs, so it just doesnt give me the 'oversized' look either, but if i try 2 size up, it's too big. luckily i didn't go thruu w it, but i have enough purchases i regret frm 2023 anyway l0l. im also doing a low buy this yr, good luck 2 us both

I have a similar body shape short arms and legs and long torso it’s such a pain as lots of trousers are 30 inch I’m 24 inch but still 5ft 5 because of my torso.
I now factor in alterations on dresses and trousers.
I’ve seen a fashion stylist on ista and he suggested making a list of things you really need not want and just buy them. So that’s my 2024 challenge.

I’m trying to do a low buy year too 😫 these student loans got hands. But also, overconsumption is just an issue of mine I’ve been thinking of since like 2020 and this just feels like the next step to curb that. Recommend The Year of Less by Cait Flanders if you wanna read about a no buy year!

That's so sad about Cosrx, I love their snail mucin and vitamin c toner. Not so much the essential oil moisturizer.
Not sure if it's similar there, but in Canada you can get a prescription for tret for like $6 for a tube which lasts 3 months, it's been great for my acne! My goal has been to stop fucking around with over the counter products and just keep to 1-2 prescription products, a moisturizer, and a sunscreen, instead of the like 6 steps I was buying before at like $20 each.

I lived in Korea and bought the COSRX products when I first got there because it's so popular in the US and immediately had an allergic reaction haha. COSRX is NOT popular in Korea at all, so I should have known

From the little I see from your cosrx products. They don't seem authentic. It might be the reason (yes even from this famous american store allegedly).
And they are not fungal acne safe as well (the originals)
Really? I tried so hard to avoid purchasing the fake ones since it was a huge problem people were having while ordering their products 😭 I even went on the COSRX website to make sure the store I bought it from was one of their authorized American sellers 😭and watched videos on how to spot fake ones
Yes and there is nothing 100% safe because I read reviews on fakes from every platform but the label on yours is too yellow.
And I think even cosrx changed it recently.
But the only valid thing is the light yellow label and the groove all along the cap that should be narrow and straight.
As well as the recycling symbol on the back (there must be many things written inside the symbol and underneath in korean.
As well "PP" (still underneath) and an empty pot on the left of the recycling symbol with "12M" on it as well)
The expiration date thing is not valid because of the change from COSRX I guess. @@unproductivebestie
