Nice demo. I had an M1 & M1Rex back in the day. At the time, they were simply amazing,...unlike anything I'd ever heard. My M1s are long gone now, (for well over 15 years) but the M1 still holds a special place in my heart. I had many great experiences w/it & we created a lot of music together. BTW, I think it's fun to try & pick out M1 sounds, from various movies, songs & commercials. The M1 has a really distinct sound & to this day, I can spot many of them almost immediately. There was also a time when I knew nearly every patch by heart.
That first sound 'One World' can be heard at the beginning of the live version of Magnetic Fields by Jean-Michel Jarre at his Paris La Defense concert in 1990. :)
thankyou very much for quick reply realy appreciated , i will look on ebay for a memory card , i have seen them from around 40 to 50 quid , will be worth it in the long run , thankyou again.
The Bassoon patch you may be missing is either on the MPC-00P memory card (the original factory sounds for the M1, this particular video shows the factory sounds of the EX version!) or on the card sets MPC-01 ("Variety") or MPC-04 "Orchestra 1". Listen to my demos of the original M1 factory sounds. I think the patch you love is 32 "DoubleReed".
Officially (!) you can only download the factory data of the KORG M1 and the M1 EX at the KORG supply websites. KORG Germany has both, but the Global Data entries of the SysEX file ofthe EX-version are incorrect, causing wrong drums sounds. If you search the web thoroughly you may find a few files for download. But however: if you want the MPC-cards to work properly, you will need the PCM sound cards as well, otherwise your M1 refers to the internal sounds only which doesn't sound like intended.
Hi! I have this problem. It seems like in my M1r EX plays only(?) the M1 drums and not in correct mapping(?) also. How can I get the M1 EX sysex to load up the drum sounds? Can you help me please? BTW all other sounds are working correctly.
You cannot get more space for the sequencer through deleting programs and combinations. In the Global Menu you can increase the sequencer memory: Memory Allocation 100PROG/100COMBI/4400SEQ This can be changed to: 50PROG/50COMBI/7700SEQ If you change it this way, you keep all the programs and combinations from 00 - 49. 50 - 99 will be deleted! You will have to save all the needed programs to 00 - 49. You can also use a memory card for the sequencer. It can be formatted for 7700SEQ as well.
Alguém aí sabe me dizer se é possível carregar os presets do VST Korg Legacy Collection, é que estou com um Korg M1 e quero carregar um timbre que se chama (Super E.P) no meu M1.
PEPE! Hope u R still live and well 'n' kicking. I am in serious trouble. Can not start my M1ex without MCP-0EX and can't find one I actually don't need the card. I need the .syx preload file;( DUDE, help if you can. -> can not record back sounds, can not record my music. Distraught in South London, UK.
Hello, I just uploaded it on my website. You can find the KORG M1 EX factory data through this link: pepemusic.de/downloads/korg_mpc-0ex.zip Also the "global data" file is 100% the same as on the MPC-0EX card. This wasn't the case when the EX factory presets were available on the official KORG websites years ago. I hope that helps!
@@cyclesurgerywandsworth1482 You have to transfer all three files to have the whole card data in the instrument's internal memory. Send them one by one, preferably with the global data as the last one. Once you have successfully transferred all the three files, your M1 EX will have the original factory data and sounds. Should you run into problems, hit me up anytime. Good luck!
@@PepeMusic Dear Pepe. After the struggle with proprietary/locked firmware for MIDISPORT 2x2 I finally made my Debian GNU/Linux accept the hardware and was able to transfer all three files via amidi utility. I now have 2 new Panasonic batteries in parallel. Panasonic being reported as the longest performing in demanding bicycle lights. Second battery holder soldered onto the tabs of the original battery holder inside. I first checked the rate of battery decay which was -11.3% in over 2 years, but I have not played at all. With Thanks again for the files.
Hola pepe, tengo un korg m1 normal, quiero saber si la targeta de programación KORG M1 MPC-OEX, ES COMPATIBLE CON EL KORG M1 REGULAR..AGRADECERIA TU RESPUESTA. SALUDOS
@ValtenKeist I don't know if the software version of the M1 includes the waveforms of the EX model. But if you need the program data, you can download them for free - at least from the original KORG website in Germany: korg.de/uploads/tx_softwarecenter/M1R-EX_Werksdaten.zip - I don't know if this file is compatible with the software. It works with the original KORG M1 EX.
is it possible to erase sounds i dont use , so i can gain more memory for the seqencer ? i only have 20% even after deleting the useless demos ? also i never use any of the combis !! could i get rid of the 100 combis to gain more seq memory ,, your help would be most appreciated as i use the sequencer so much ,, then record my songs to my recorder for future use , then i can erase from M1 to have enough memory for next project ,, idealy id like to keep some songs in the M1 , but lack memory
The sounds of this card can only be played correctly with a KORG M1 EX, KORG M1R EX or the T series (T3, T2, T1). It won't work with a standard M1, because it doesn't have all the necessary waveforms that I have put in white letters in my demo videos.
Yes, it is only compatible with the EX version and the KORG T series (T1, T2, T3). You can use the card in a standard M1, but all then all the new EX waveforms are replaced with the standard M1 waveforms and that leads to bad sounding results.
+Irvin Palacios I honestly don't know it, but I doubt that it would work properly. The Wavestation has different waveforms inside and if the data of the memory card should overall be compatible, it would still not sound the same, I'm sure. The only thing I know for sure is that you can use the M1's PCM waveform cards in a Wavestation, but then you have to program your own patches to make it sound good.
HELP ! Searching for a long, long time how to restore the factory presets of my M1-EX, I'm desesperate!!! ... I've found any availalble sysex (all for classical M1, of course...), read any articles and surfed about 6 month 2 or 3 hours a day to find the solution... Do you wanna be my God? My Life? My Everything? Couldn't you let me know where you've found yours?
I'm not sure. It may be that the M1 EX came with the regular M1 patches and demo songs (MPC-00P & MPC-00S) factory-wise and the MPC-0EX was added as an extra.
I had the M1 & M1Rex. The sound engine, user interface, sequencer, FX processors, etc, are identical. The main differences are just that the EX has 2 banks. Bank 1 is identical to the M1. (same patches/programs) Bank 2 has other patches, comprised of sounds that use other waveforms/samples. The M1Rex is really a T1-T3 "in a box". It comes with all the M1's ROMs/waveforms + the entire Korg PCM sound cards library installed to ROM.
@piloto007iesus Hello. I can't speak Spanish, so I have to answer in English. I hope it helps. You can buy such a card with the M1 EX-sounds at eBay from time to time. This data has to be sent through a program like Midi-OX to the MIDI ports of the M1 EX.

Will the MPC-0EX work on the M1R?
No, it will only work correctly with the M1R EX, not with the standard version of an M1 or M1R.
I think i'd have to find the expansion board and Eproms and if i can't will have to get the M1R EX.
