Love this series. Would love to hear more about people you were drafted with, cool stories from the league, and different interactions with players as you pull their cards. Even if the story takes a minute to tell, the content would be top notch and I know I'd stick around.

I love to see you chasing your card. To me it doesn't matter if its a rookie or not. Seeing the differences over the years is what is fun.
I always love the commentary from your playing days. I'd love to hear a bit more about kind of obscure pitching stories against specific players, or guys who maybe weren't stars, but still had you preparing in a specific way etc.

I remember trying to hunt for your rookie auto after your no hitter bid in your second start but I couldn’t afford it because I was a poor college student . Good news , I got it now along with all the autos of your 2009 teammates lol ! Thanks for helping bring home that championship .

I’m honestly so amazed 😂 I had no idea that this channel is THE Phil Hughes that I grew up watching on the yanks. When I started collecting in 2009 I remember one of my first pickups was your rookie card from a flea market because you were a Yankee. This just threw me back to memory lane not only with the card you were chasing, but the man behind the screen😂

Years ago I was on some message boards for card collectors (first it was the Beckett message boards and then we migrated to a new site), I think you stopped by occasionally. Everyone totally fan-boyed over it haha. I think that was back around 08-09. Cool to see you have this channel, just found it.

Looking at the back of your rookie card, i actually lived in Santa Ana at that time and attended school at Jefferson Elementary and McFadden Jr High. I got into collecting cards around the late 80's as a kid and would go to an old liquor store on Segerstrom and Bristol. Now i reside in San Diego.

Back in 2006 I had a 2004 Topps Traded Philip Hughes Chrome Refractor graded BGS 9.5...ebayed it for about 80 bucks when I needed to pay some real life expenses.

It’s crazy how times change. Short prints were the cards you wanted, now like you said they are fire staters. Makes me think what I’m collecting today will end up like that in 15 years.
You were right about the photo variation. That is what they are known as....this last topps holiday edition even has sp, rare, and super rare photo variations!

That’s awesome dude iv played baseball my hole life and went to the World Series once my grade 12 year my coach was a teacher and back in grade 9 I came to class late and on my final year of baseball my scouting year he didn’t pick me for the team and messed it up for me to get a scholarship 😔 but this video was sweet and congrats on marking it to the big league

I just came across your channel. So what is it like to open packs of cards and pull cards of people you actually know? I love watching your videos I wish I. Like open box’s like you do like a boss.
Most of those cards aren't very valuable at all, but they're still fun to see names I haven't heard of in years and years. At least you pulled your card goals and that made it even more fun. I'd actually love to see you go even older, but eventually it gets to a point where the price of boxes just isn't worth it.

I found one so far, but can't get a pic that's not blurry..driving me nuts..lol the blurb on the back says you had an 11.63 strikeout-walk ratio in 2014..the best in mlb history!!! I think it be ok if you talked a bit more about your career...my ma always says, "if you can do it, it ain't bragging!"..200+ innings and 16 walks!!that's krazee good!
