OK. Really did laugh out loud about the metric adjustable wrench. Mostly the delivery, but also fond memories of sending someone back a couple of time to get the metric adjustable.
Man, this is the kit! I thought I was the tool kit guy, but this is awesome! I upgraded to an old 6 drawer military surplus general mechanics tool kit from a Kobalt plastic 3 drawer box that weighed about as much as yours.
I"m sure the SnapOn truck wanted $50 for the divider up top. But you do get a lifetime warranty. I bet the free HF voltmeter was even more expensive as you can't get out of HF without spending a benjamin $. The metric adjustable wrench/hammer is a must. If you flip it over it'll do SAE sizes.
I felt like I was watching The Red green Show. I am so tempted to pick up that style tool box and then I keep asking myself do I really need it but man I sure want it
I have a couple of different things in mine . It’s more of a survivalist box ! I added a 22 cal. AR-7 and ammo , tarp , knife , road flares , bungees and a couple of MRE’s I don’t have rubber hose or pullers or more then 4 screwdrivers and i almost forgot in each vehicle I have blankets and a tarp ( orange ) and some MRE’s and water . Same box and mine weighs 60 lbs ! Must be those Canadian tools weight more or something, when are you EVER going to use all those small size sockets ? NEVER ! Everything else is great 👍. You know if you live in the north woods anything can happen ! Except maybe running over a crocodile ! Lol. But I did hit a bear once ! SKOL BUD !
In the tool box and tote I travel with I keep each of the rolls of tape in a zip lock sandwich bag, they don't dry out and last forever. A straight cut avaition snip has all sorts of uses, trimming fingernails, turning a beer cans into shims, or the box into a gasket, cutting harvest info on your deer tag, A $15 eBay 12 volt fuel pump works well with that spare gas line. Using a small soft aluminum tube I salvaged off some dead refrigeration equipment, , maby 3 feet long, I have been able to bypass the roll over valve in a gas tank and pump out gas out of a donor car.. With that I keep a brand new, never used 2 gal plastic gas tank full of water. Fill up a radiator, or drink it if thirsty enough. Beware though, the women will never go for that, the simply can not be convinced it is fresh water. She will think you are trying to kill her, don't ask. Dump the water out if you need gasoline. I relpace the adjustment bolt on the vice grips with a eye bolt. Instant anchor point and it is easier to tork down on. A harbor freight moving blanket.lines the trunk. It beats working on the dirt, and can even be used as a blanket. Also from HF I have a small flash light with a powerfull magnetic base. Taped to a stick it is a magnetic pickup tool. I find a 15 foot length of 12 gauge house wire very useful . With hose clamps and vice grips it is jumper cables, it can tie down a load, or trunk or hood , can be used to tow a stuck car a short distance, , Strip the plastic and tie up a muffler, or open a car door when the keys are locked in it. It makes a good third hand to hold a flashlight or something, I use a single insulated wire to organize my sockets fish stringer style. I also spray paint each stringer a different color, ie red is 1/2 inch drive SAE, green is 3/8 drive metric ect. I do the same with the wrenches. It is a functional emergency dog leash. All this takes up very little space and weighs almost nothing .
Thanks for measuring the box, this side of pond they come in slightly different sizes. Steel strap is fucking amazing for everything. Same goes for files.
Just got the craftsman box with tools. I'm going to put handles on the sides. Tough because its double walled with 1/2" gap and not a lot of space between the rails inside. I took a set of heavy handles off a Harbor Freight 26" US General to;p box. Nice handles. The Craftsman box is nice for the money, the set of tools with it is probably a $80 set at best. Its got all 3 size drives, but too many 12pt 1/2 sockets and tiny wrenches. Other than that, the box allows tons of room to add tools.
Nice video! I have the same tool box. Does it handle the weight well? I just got mine at lowes and it looks the same but might be different. I would like to put side handles also since it is so heavy.
Man, this was just like going through my own road box! In my main truck, I had enough room to carry a cheap 700 watt inverter under the seat and one of those small 3 gallon air compressors from Harbor Freight in the tool box. Takes a while, but helps a lot if you are miles from your main air compressor and need to air up a flat tire on a trailer, for example. Just pop the hood and run it straight off the truck battery.
Gawd lee I came here to get an idea of how to NEATLY organize the little tools that I have but this looks like a game of eye spy, but hey if it works for you go for it
I have the newer version of the box, it literally just has black badges instead of chrome. I go for organization, but I have a separate bag with my impact and driver, and another bag with some spare bulbs, bungee cords, and soon to be 850 zip ties
My home first aid kit is gauze pads and duct tape if you can't fix it with that I've got lots of towels Im willling to loose to stop the bleed while we drive you to the hospital for stitches if it's a bad cut then if it's really bad we can use a belt as a tourniquet
I think you carry a but much lol i carry what i need to it to the next ORiley’s or walmart lol you do have an amazing tool setup i just couldnt have the space for it in my single cab f150. Nice video though lots of good info.
Haha, but you'll still probably need that one thing not in there! Actually, I've ended up using this box a lot when traveling with other people on trips/races, has worked out very well.
If I have to carry 78 lbs of tools on a road trip, I might just rent a car. Unless you absolutely want to go with your own car, I would check to make sure my car is good before going on a trip. The other reason people need all these tools may be some long haul truckers, or someone like that.
I enjoy roadtripping old cars, so repairs can be needed at times. I've actually used this tool kit more often to either fix other people's stuff or non automotive items once at the destination.
That's definitely a good thing to have, I have those in each of my cars already. One new thing I added to the box was a two piece valve stem that can be installed from the outside of the wheel, would really come in handy for a roadside or gas station repair.
Exactly what is the purpose of the all the tools in your tool box? If you are a mobile auto shop, well then, you probably got it covered; however, if you are trying to compile a "basic" car repair tool kit, what you showed, IMO is overkill. For example, some of the tasks mentioned (i.e. tire bead seating, etc.) shoud be left to a tire shop. My son and I took a 1994 Buick with 200,000 miles on the odometer on a 2,000 mile road trip and we got by with a fraction of the tools you showed. Sure, having a needed tool is nice, but yikes. Just my two-cents.
This man said high end snap on divider he earned my sub
I actually laughed at that!
Lost my shit there
I carry roughly 140lbs of tools in my truck plus a lunch box welder and 80lbs of spare parts in case some brakes. This guys is just getting started
Hands down Sir! Best portable tool box video I have ever seen, Thank you, I am copying a lot of your ideas!
I was already well impressed but when you pulled out the assortment bag of o rings, c-clips, e-clips etc... that was just next level Rick Pewe stuff.
Haha, thanks man! Rick Pewe is a freakin' legend!
Maybe a few rods of 7018, add some jumper cables and ya got yourself a poor man's welder
I like that idea!
Along with a coat hanger, I also keep a roll of coated soft wire in my gear too. It's saved me many times.
You’re f***ing funny. I need to see what your rigs look like that you need all of this gear for.
Can I just come over and hang out in the garage?
OK. Really did laugh out loud about the metric adjustable wrench. Mostly the delivery, but also fond memories of sending someone back a couple of time to get the metric adjustable.
My craftsman adjustable has standard increments laser etched lol
Lol yeah
Man, this is the kit! I thought I was the tool kit guy, but this is awesome! I upgraded to an old 6 drawer military surplus general mechanics tool kit from a Kobalt plastic 3 drawer box that weighed about as much as yours.
Haha, just used a good bit of last week while on a sled trip, sure was nice having the tools needed!

I prefer a small pack for a survival kit. I keep a good sized tool box for tools aswell
Ahh yes. Another pilgrimage to this masterpiece. 👌
This man will be set for a apocalypse

Really dig the eye bolt in the vise grips trick!
I'm got the same toolbox, and do mobile mechanic jobs everyday, I'm going to have to do a video like this.
Yes, please do a video of your mobile mechanic tools that you carry.
Thanks for measuring the box, this side of pond they come in slightly different sizes. Steel strap is fucking amazing for everything.
Same goes for files.
Like you said, you can’t be too organized, but you probably have something to get you out of a bind.
Wow, exactly what I've wanted for years. Subbed.
Thanks!
Outstanding

Cool, sounds like a nice setup, side handles are definitely good to have.

Yup, having an air compressor can be a huge help.
All I can say is Brilliant!! I love the half tube of grease. You are making me want to take a ride to HF
Haha, thanks man. Yeah, always end up spending at least 50 bucks every time you go to HF...
Can never have too many zip ties!
Trying to build my own kit for all my vehicles . And a kit for my quad and dirt bike trips
I also try to do that, any special tools, chain parts, jets, etc. That way it's not sitting at home when you end up needing it, haha.
Had it for over a year
Damn! I like your setup!
Thanks! It's been handy to have
It is pretty hard sleeping next to a 3-way....I could never do it
I like to keep a needle and thread. in my box. Pick out metal ect.
Nice, will have to put one in there, and maybe a set of tweezers as well. Thanks for the tip!
My home first aid kit is gauze pads and duct tape if you can't fix it with that I've got lots of towels Im willling to loose to stop the bleed while we drive you to the hospital for stitches if it's a bad cut then if it's really bad we can use a belt as a tourniquet
Haha, true!
I spy some Trader Horn tags, sadly the one near me in Clarion has closed.
Ya, really miss that store, they all closed. :(
Snyder county, Pa here
You need three sets of vice grips in case you blow some brake lines😂
That's definitely a possibility, haha
May I recommend a mod? Get some heavy-duty toolbox handles and put them on the sides to make it easier to carry.
Definitely, this is a two hander for sure!
Your name is Junior or Bubba or similar, right?
Magnetic bowl push button remote starter soldering torch heat shrink
Your lower back will tell you when you're weight limit exceeding the limit
Ain't that the truth, haha
I call it junkyard box for going to salvage yard
I think you carry a but much lol i carry what i need to it to the next ORiley’s or walmart lol you do have an amazing tool setup i just couldnt have the space for it in my single cab f150. Nice video though lots of good info.
Haha, I hear ya! I mostly use this box as a "base camp" setup when on a roadtrip or vacation.
You got those multimeters for free, I had to pay
Put D-handles on the ends of your tool box. Much easier to move around.
Yup, definitely on the to do list!
Nice tool box! Thanks for review!
Thanks for watching!
@@toocheaptosmoke you are giving some good ideas to use!
Great video dude .
Thanks!
You forgot JB welding???🤪
Naw, it's in there, haha. I have JB kwik weld though, for faster repairs, keep the regular strength stuff at home.
Lose the pb blaster and add the seafoam deep creep instead
I like that idea
Torch?
Yup, never know when you might need to solder or melt something, haha
That'll provide illumination too I suppose ;)
Nevermind..missed your flashlight the first time..
Talk about overkill!
Haha, but you'll still probably need that one thing not in there! Actually, I've ended up using this box a lot when traveling with other people on trips/races, has worked out very well.
Dude sell all that junk and buy a Honda Civic for 2k. You won’t need the tools then
If I have to carry 78 lbs of tools on a road trip, I might just rent a car. Unless you absolutely want to go with your own car, I would check to make sure my car is good before going on a trip.

Great video thank you!
You're missing tire plugs and a tire plugger.
That's definitely a good thing to have, I have those in each of my cars already. One new thing I added to the box was a two piece valve stem that can be installed from the outside of the wheel, would really come in handy for a roadside or gas station repair.
Wks
No bondo?😂
😂
I’m sorry, you must be a Dodge/ Chrysler owner!!
Lol!
Why drive a car that would brake down that you would need all that call AAA DAM man
Road trips are no fun if there's not the risk of breakdown, haha
AAA doesn't come where we go. My daughter and wife have AAA. My son and I have older vehicles that we take off-road, along with our tools.
Wes Hopkins better to have and not need than to need and not have.
Lol..👀

I don't think I saw a ball peen hammer
Yeah, just a claw hammer at the moment.
Flask
Awesome video man
Thanks!
