Little sad you didn't react to the official music video. You get to see a young, long-haired Rick Astley, and a full choir of women providing the background vocals.
This is my Favorite song of Ricks. I really wish you would have done the official video for this song though. It's Awesome and always hits me in my feels. Plus, you'd get to see his long gorgeous hair!! I Love Rick!!
I still can't get over tea-boy-turned-1980s pop star Rick Astley is so lauded today. Obviously he always had a voice. It's almost surreal because I forgot about him a long time ago... and now he's back. Good on him, I say.
Rich Astley's Never Gonna Give You UP is at 1.6 Billion views! Rick's vocal range is Baritone (A2-A4) and Tenor (C3-C5). Also of note is that Tom Jones sings Baritone and Tenor. Check out the song Delilah by Tom Jones!!! Both of these artists are from the UK. Yet they sing with Mississippi Soul.
If you listen to the lyrics he’s asking for emotional honesty instead of game playing. He needs her help and wants to give his, a truly equal, honest relationship. He’s giving and she isn’t.
Fun live version! On your own, check out the official music video from 1991 that features a long-haired Rick Astley (he looks like he should be in a shampoo commercial with his lovely, shiny, bouncing and behaving locks! LOL) ... and at the end, there's a huge choir of females who join him on backing vocals.
Rich is such an extraordinary singer. Such a beautiful voice. His back up singers are Stellar and you can tell there is a mutual respect. One of my favorites of his newer songs is - Try , especially the live version with the symphony.
That high note is hit by Rick perfectly in the official video and there’s a large female choir must more intense & amazing than this performance (they are both great singers but there are 20+ great female voices on the original).
He did this song with a whole choir that was fantastic. You really need to review Glen Campbell, world class guitarist, most played radio artist of the 20th century. Gentle on My Mind is a seminal song, John Mayer and James Taylor have described it as their favorite songs
Rick is one of my absolute favourites! He’s got an amazing voice and it’s only gotten better. I’ve seen Rick live 10 or 11 times and he’s always great. He has a lot of humour and loves interacting with his audience. I’ve been fortunate enough to meet him on several occasions and he’s sweet and funny and down to earth. So easy to talk to. And his band is bloody brilliant !! About 10-12 years ago I was at a concert where him and his band performed the funkiest cover I’ve ever heard of Uptown Funk. The two fabulous ladies on bv’s are Dawn Joseph and Lauren Johnson. Dawn also fronts the soul funk acid jazz band MFRobots and she’s freaking awesome !! If you would like to hear something a little newer may I suggest Keep Singing from his 2016 album “50”
I live in the US. I would have loved to have seen Rick in Concert, but sadly to my knowledge in the almost 35 years since his debut, He never came or did a tour in the USA. I could be wrong, but I never saw an US tour dates. He has an amazing voice, similar with my other favorite singer Steve Perry.
@@williesteele4503 he toured a lot in the US back in the day, and have in recent years too, although not to the same extent. He was on the Mix Tape Tour with NKOTB En Vogue and Salt-N-Pepa in 2022.
Alright. That is a strange tour group to be on, in my opinion. R&B Rap and a boy band? Rick is a powerhouse singer, should have been with groups more his genre.
I have a request for songs need to be heard. Billy Dean let them be Little, only the wind; If there hadn't been you, when it come to love you don't count the cost. These songs can be found on youtube. You are Gorgeous ! Blessing to you and your husband grow old together with love.Lawrence
Although he’s most famously known for “Never Gonna Give You Up”, he had another big hit from the same album that was released shortly after NGGYU, “Together Forever”. So, at minimum, he was a “three-hit wonder”.
@@williambryan3346dude, Rick held (maybe still holds) a world record. Only male solo artist who’s first eight(count them 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8) singles went top ten on the UK charts. His 2016 album “50” went straight to number one on the UK album chart. Definitely NOT a one hit wonder!
Makes a change to see review of rick thats nearer current age…..i have seen him twice since this performance he is still amazing. He has plenty of material that could be reviewed since the 50 album.

in the original video, there was a choir in the video
Awesome song by an underrated artist.
There is an earlier version of this song with many female singing just like you thought Britt !
If you listen to the lyrics he’s asking for emotional honesty instead of game playing. He needs her help and wants to give his, a truly equal, honest relationship. He’s giving and she isn’t.
original video is better but this was still good!
You must try The One You Love by Rick. Great vocals, message and emotion.
I love this sing. Thanks for sharing this version. I have to go watch now.

@@williesteele4503 they were popular around the same time. Oh and Rick does all genres. Have you heard him play drums and sing Highway to Hell?
NO Official Video?!!! HUGE MISTAKE!

Britt, you are a great singer! I’d like to see some videos of you singing.
I love your reactions
If you want to listen to some fabulous Alto singing "going to church music" listen to Lynda Randall sing "God on the Mountain" you will be blessed.
If you like seasoned Rick, Britt, why not try his recent live performances with the band Blossoms covering hits by The Smiths 🎉
Good song, i like original better. Suggestion: try another of his songs: Never gonna give you up
Yes, Rick Astley was more than a one hit wonder.

Why do a LIVE version? The original video is so phenomenal. C’mon. This does not represent the absolute beauty of Rick’s vocal plus the choir.

You can't talk about a choir and not to TRY THE ORIGINAL!! (Sorry 😊)
