I was in the dark for a couple of weeks just only touching and feeling the awesomeness of metahuman character. But now you've turned on the lights and I was able to see the real beauty on it, I can now be able to use this on any of my projects. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR SHARING!
You should do more detailed explanations on WHY you are doing what you are doing, not just showing it, it will really help your viewers have a better understanding, which in turn makes for a better learning experience. Great job.
Good idea! Maybe I will do not beginner video for more details explanation. There is a balance on how deep to get it and try not to potentially bored the beginner, but I think it is a good idea to have some sort of intermediate video and do the same/similar thing but maybe with multiple ways Thanks for the constructive comments! :)

This is awesome! I do have a problem tho. My torso doesn't want to follow the animation blueprint of the 3rd person. The rests of the mesh do. I have been redoing the process twice and still have an issue. What did I do wrong and how do I fix it?

Just wondering, I followed a diff tut got lost here , but no matter, TY so much for doing this, easy to follow and good pace! I was wondering tho, using metahuman and BP_character_myname as the anim, my character is unable to look up or down as yours clearly is, is there a fix ? One question.. Did you have problems with the fingers? Mine are all twisted. Is there a remap change like you did with the spine? Everything else is pretty good.
I did not encounter that problem. However, for the fingers you can double check the differences between your character and target character pose, to make sure it is consistent before you retarget it. You might/can adjust the pose of your Metahuman to match the character you want to map (e.g directions of the axis and the positions), maybe I will consider to do an intermediate tutorial on this topic in the future. :)

hi man , thanks for everything , do you know how create animations for the characters? You can download them from Maximo, but it limeted, especially the face animation, which I did not find a solution for. I put characters from metahuman inside the project and I can use mannequin animation on it, but the mannequin one does not have facial movements in any position other than moving the head and I want to move the eyes and mouth , any help will be great

H there! I am not sure what exactly is the problem. When it comes to hair the common problems I would encounters are LODs might not exists in hair or beard, in those cases remove the LODs after LOD1 would work. In the other case, I could think of is it could be the parent and child relationship might not be correct. (Maybe See 8:17 to double check ) , last I could think of is you need to scale or offset the hair, but you shouldn't need to do that for a pure metahuman. Anyway hope this might give you a little help. Good luck! :)

I just have a problem when i try to retarget the animation bleuprint to my skeleton, i can't find the skeleton in the list, there no skeleton, so i tryied to fix it and found that it appeared when i uncheck "Show Only Compatibles Skeletons"; so i select my skeleton and press retarget but unreal crashes. So, i would know if you know how to make my skeleton compatible?

This method also does work for 4.27, at least for me. Functionally I can get all to work except my Torso. Any ideas on a fix? Followed your process several times. I noted your Head and Torso mapped together before you retargeted animations. Whereas my head was the only asset following the mannequin animations before retargeting.
This was very informative thanks. However, for some reason the legs seem to have the animation not synced with the rest of the body, it's as if the rest of the body's animation is 1 sec ahead. Any solution on how to fix that? Also, I feel like there's got to be an easier workflow to get the mixamo animations on the metahuman models.

Mine seemed to work fine, but I don't have the collision cage around my metahuman char., is that a problem, or just a setting off ? The robot 3rd person char still shows up, with my metahuman over it. There is no 3d person in game to delete, so how do I get rid of it~! ;) FIXED< but now my hands are missing, but progress!! ;)), do I need to do pt2 ?
Hi Ringo and ishit, There are two ways to solve this, you need to either set the correct retarget animeBP or if that do not work you can also assign the master pose on the “mesh” and torso, hands and head as the target. Yes! You could export directly from bridge to your 3rd person project ! Just make sure the project is created before you export from bridge, so that you can set the export location to the 3rd person project. didnt work for me, i made a normal underweight female metahuman but in the end torso and face are inline together and feet and legs inline togther, but not inline tottaly :( update: i tried on a normal weight metahuman and it worked BUT i made an animation montage for dashing/dodging , when i do that body splits into two pieces

I am facing a problem with this, I followed along with every bit of the tut but in the end the torso of my metahuman doesnt follow along like the rest!
My feet are not working. what does it mean: mapped? (If this method do not works on your UE5, like your body or torso or feet was not mapped probably.)
I followed all instructions and it worked pretty well, but my character's shoes are moving away when he runs.... anyone has any idea what might cause that?

the character keeps glitching when i enter full screen mode when i jump or randomly sometimes i dont know why i tried the master pose same thing please help i use 4.62
i fixed it when i set the forced lodo to -1 but now i have the hair problem im fine with not using the full screen mode but will it affect my game if i released it somehow i dont know if this problem is from my pc or the engine really

@@RelaxKiral no the problem when i press the F11 to enter full screen the character glitches ( as if the legs separte from the body or shoulders height increase) this was happening when i set the Lodo to 0 but when i set it to -1 and enter the full screen (F11) its back to normal and no glitching i tried searching online but i cant see anyone that may have had this issue

Did you turn on the groom addons? If you havent then delete the metahuman folder, turn on the addon, restart the engine and then reimport the metahuman file.

There is another skeleton for the torso, you just need to retarget it the same way and then put animation on you're sweater.

Ok got this so far, fixed it and now to pt 2 in this video.
hmm both in UE5 and 4.26 my torso, hands and head just stay fixed even though the animBP is assigned to it, you know why?

I am facing a problem with this, I followed along with every bit of the tut but in the end the torso of my metahuman doesnt follow along like the rest!

Never used MetaHuman but am I able to only use the head of a MetaHuman and put it on a different body that already has animations and cloth?
Yes you would able to do that! Since the metahuman head and body are separated :)

My feet are not working. what does it mean: mapped? (If this method do not works on your UE5, like your body or torso or feet was not mapped probably.)

I followed all instructions and it worked pretty well, but my character's shoes are moving away when he runs.... anyone has any idea what might cause that?
You can double check on the Animation-> anim Class -> select the correct animBP setting on your shoes(Feet) or try to use the Master pose component

the character keeps glitching when i enter full screen mode when i jump or randomly sometimes i dont know why i tried the master pose same thing please help i use 4.62
i fixed it when i set the forced lodo to -1 but now i have the hair problem im fine with not using the full screen mode but will it affect my game if i released it somehow i dont know if this problem is from my pc or the engine really

@@RelaxKiral no the problem when i press the F11 to enter full screen the character glitches ( as if the legs separte from the body or shoulders height increase) this was happening when i set the Lodo to 0 but when i set it to -1 and enter the full screen (F11) its back to normal and no glitching
i tried searching online but i cant see anyone that may have had this issue
FYI, this seems like a waste of time in UE5. This only gets the legs and hands moving in it.

@@RelaxKiral I eventually got everything working. Thanks for your effort. Making the head a socket to the body helped. Otherwise it was floating a foot above his body.

@@RelaxKiral hey I actually figured it out. Unreal itself is broken haha i have to stretch the window across the entire screen and only then can I start to see the options barely. Thanks for the response though!

when i import my meta human in she doesnt have hair at all im so confused do you know how to fix this?
Not sure what is the problem for situation you mentioned but sounds like related to the problem I mentioned around 2:07 :)
Did you turn on the groom addons? If you havent then delete the metahuman folder, turn on the addon, restart the engine and then reimport the metahuman file.
I have only shoose animation after this
