Great job. I think I would do it the right way up but your explanation with the piece of roof batten was first class. Definitely got the principles and the reason across.

awesome vid mate. My mower is cutting on an angle and thought I may have to shim the bed knife😂. I’ll give the milk crate thing a go. Thanks again 👍

Doing great things for the community of Scotty Enthusiasts…keep up the great vids. Maybe add a lock nut or nuts to your levelling bolt so it doesn’t move on you, but hey that isn’t critical just my OCD coming out from years of machine levelling…keep up the great work👍🏼

Thanks for the video. 2 questions: 1. Is the front roller guaranteed to be perfectly parallel/aligned with the bedknife? This technique is assuming that it is because the height of cut bar is using it as a reference. 2. Can you PLEASE do a video showing how to do this when the engine is one? I am getting a very uneven cut and think that this is what I need to do, but would love some guidance. Thanks

The sole plate is a fixed item (doesn’t move)and so is the front roller (it moves up and down but not forwards or backwards)
Basically when the frame of the mower is built the bolt holes are in the exact same location on both sides of the frame, this automatically guarantees the front roller to be aligned with the sole plate..
If you have any play in your front roller (e.g worn front roller shaft or end caps) you will never be able to align it accurately and will need to fix the play/movement first.
I hope that makes sense :-)

Very informative. is the rear roller adjustment process the same for a rover thoroughbred.

I’m not sure Peter. I personally have never owned a rover thoroughbred.

Hi, Nice video! When you move the height bar to the adjustable side and there is a gap, how do you know that it is not the front roller that is out! As that has been a problem on some machines. Thanks.

This is an upgraded front roller which has a bearing installed in each end, accompanied by a new front roller shaft and bracket. This ensures the front roller is true.
