  • CHOPIN - Nocturne No 2 in E Flat Major Op 9 No 2 (60 minutes)
    Performer : Frank Levy
The Nocturnes, Op. 9 are a set of three nocturnes written by Frédéric Chopin between 1830 and 1832, published that year, and dedicated to Madame Emily Chopin. The second nocturne of the work is widely regarded as Chopin's most famous piece, and is regularly featured in films, television programs and video games. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nocturn...
The Chopin nocturnes constitute 21 pieces for solo piano written by Frédéric Chopin between 1827 and 1846. They are generally considered among the finest short solo works for the instrument and hold an important place in contemporary concert repertoire. Although Chopin did not invent the nocturne, he popularized and expanded on it, building on the form developed by Irish composer John Field.
The nocturnes numbered 1 to 18 were published during his life, in twos or threes, in the order of composition. Numbers 19 and 20 were actually written first, prior to Chopin's departure from Poland, but published posthumously. Number 20 was not originally entitled "nocturne" at all, but since publication in 1870 as such, is generally included with publications and recordings of the set. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nocturn...

When life gets hard, remember that Chopin lived a simple life. He loved and was heartbroken. He was a virtuoso and died young aged. His work has transcended time. You don't have to be rich to be happy and become a good influence.

Assim e' a natureza.

When i moved in my grandma's house to take care of her i notice that every morning my grandma plays this in her little cassette. I asked her one time why. And she told me this and i just started crying.😭💔
He's dead for almost 7 years but i still see him in my dreams. I never consider him as a ghost for your grandpa never left me. You see, Whenever i look outside my window i still see him. As i lay down in my couch i can hear him playing the piano. I can hear him singing like an angel. When the drapes are tied from the window and the cassette begins to play i know he's already there. And this masterpiece was your grandfather's favorite if only i could dance with him for the last time. I was hoping if i play this every morning he might hear me and maybe one day he'll come visit me and dance with me one last time before i die.

That's an interesting reaction. When I look at the same piece, I find sweetness combined with stinging dissonance. This is evident if one analyzes the harmony, which I have had to demonstrate for music theory students. I think that the elegance of Chopin hides a lot of pain. We live in a world of beauty, yet marred by all kinds of evil and suffering on account of SIN. Great art reflects that fact of our existence, our need for redemption. Holy Scripture and holy art speak of redemption itself.

After eating in the warm rays of the sun, you lie down on your picnic blanket. There’s shade from a nearby tree, with some sunlight coming through the branches and leaves. You sigh a breath of relief and relaxation. It’s simply perfect.

    Buenas noches.
Junto a mi hermana.
Otras fuerzas naturales y sobrenaturales. Nos comunican que. Lo que llena cualquier vacío. Eso, éso es. Amor. Gracias🎹🎶🎹🎼🎹🌍🙏

I don't have a favorite composer, although I can't think of any whom I like better than Mozart (whose music Chopin admired, along with Bach's). But I can tell you, having taught from Chopin scores in music theory class (including this nocturne), that Chopin's craftsmanship was tremendous. He didn't write just out of pure 'inspiration'; he had expert knowledge and understood his own limitations better than most. Maybe he was too self-critical; if he had his way, some of his most popular compositions would have been destroyed.
(Proverbs 22:29) 'Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men.'

      Love ... How unpredictable.
As for me, I'm an EDM fan.
EDM is more about raving out all that energy, I feel.
But classics ... This one here brings out the nothingness I often try to avoid. And I enjoy it....

I can only imagine walking into a formal restaurant or club drinking pure leaf brewed sweet tea then taking a seat with a suit on after a wake up evening with a side of eggs and sausage with bacon enjoying it with some toast and the music playing in the background while waiting for my friends to come absolutely dazzling dish and suit lol ❤

When I was a little girl, I hated Chopin's nocturnes and ballads. I thought he was depressed and sad in everything he composed, which thwarted my joie de vivre as a kid. Now that life has made me mature a bit more, I appreciate his work deeply and feel emotions I have never felt before. I believe he reveals a deeper side of our existence, by allowing us to transcend our pain.

Chopin... killing me softly with no words. This melody feels like it's telling the story of my life, even things I have yet to experience, it's amazing to me the way classical music says so much without saying a word. 😢😍
