Namjoon actually doesn’t take credit for being a great leader. I think this interview is a bit lax and fun for them so he’s playing into that but he’s said himself that he doesn’t think he’s a good leader and that it’s the other members that make him seem good in response to someone complimenting his leadership.

Actually RM always puts bts before himself in everything and when they ask him what makes a good leader he says that the members are the ones who makes him a good leader and when they compliments him he gets shy and all I think in this interview no one of them was serious they were playing around for everything that was said and ofc for me jhope is the most humble person to ever exist on this planet he is just an angel

I do think Suga is a very special and unique person too, RM is obviously very intelligent but I think they stand out in different ways, and often even RM says how unique he thinks Suga is, and you can clearly tell how astonished he is of his abilities, they respect each other so much and have a very strong bond, its really nice to see their relationship even tho it may not be very clear to people that are just getting to know them, they been together the longest and it shows
I think you would really enjoy watching their FESTA! I would recommend, maybe starting from 2018 FESTA Dinner! It is where they sit down and chat as a whole group around their debut anniversary each year. I love hearing from them.
I agree too, there are many interesting conversations between them and even performances, I think you' ll love it. The downside is there are longer videos so you may have to break them in parts as I know you have trouble with the internet speed right now.

lol you don't know RM well enough, he's actually dying inside while they're giving him compliments. That is the face of him awkwardly restraining himself in order to let them do whatever they want. Sometimes it's not that you want to take the compliment, it's that you want to let others freely express themselves, even if it makes you feel uncomfortable. Usually whenever they compliment him, he is always thanking them instead and deflecting the praise. And when they joke around about taking the leader position away from him, he's like PLEASE DO IT. Since this interview is more of a laid back fun one, he's letting them go on and on for the humor of it. It's like letting a comedy bit run it's course. But he's not actually very comfortable with it, you can tell on his face if you know him better. That's his awkward face.

I don't agree that his method is that good and I explained why. Don't know if he'll actually read it though. At the end of the day, if his method induces negative reactions from most people, perhaps it's something he should reconsider.
While going through the comments you showed interest in the song Converse High bc it shows how their differing personalities can be portrayed through their lyrics, another good example of this is Suga and RMs song Strange (on suga’s second mixtape D2). Here they discuss their views of the world but even when they agree, they agree for different reasons. To me, Suga is more practical while RM can be very idealistic. Jhope really does balance these two. It seems like Jhope is loud and talkative but he actually is a great listener and keeps everyone centered. RM has talked about how he is constantly thinking about the future and Suga has expressed concerns that he is too fixated on the past while Jhope (Jin as well) is focused on the present. The dynamic between all seven is very interesting, they are all very different and yet similar too. I do believe that if any member was missing the balance would have been thrown off.
What i love about RM he always compliment his members and give them the opportunity to talk and express themselves laugh enjoy the moment that's why their bond as brothers show the love to each other. His a good leader which makes them famous now globally 💜💜💜
It’s funny but Rm is actually more likely to deflect compliments than take them as his due, even in the video he was more resigned (like here we go again lol) than matter- of-factly accepting the compliments. Suga on the other hand does tend to accept certain compliments about his ability and even calls himself a genius (bc it’s true lol).

The fact that Suga's studio is called the Genius Lab and that he knows he's a genius and called himself that way several time🤯 He has set up his studio on his own, he's a big tech and electronics fan/ technician and a workaholic. He definitely is a genius, he doesn't speak much in public settings but when he does he means every word! I latch onto every of his words, because it feels like everything has an intention, everything matters and that's also why I think having a conversation with him could be so enriching. He actually enjoys a lot taking on this advisory role (giving life advice to ARMYs in his lives, teaching the members new stuff, giving advice to younger producers...). He has knowledge over such a wide variety of subjects and often busts out random historical or any facts which makes me wonder if he learned the encyclopedia sometimes😂 If there is any opinion presented as a fact he is gonna call it out, call out the bs and ask for the scientifical reason behind everything! If he doesn't want to be excited he's gonna stay calm regardless of the setting, if he wants to get loud, and goofy he gets loud but one thing for sure he's gonna keep it real😂 It took me a bit of time to understand his personality but he's so funny, unique and raw!! And the dichotomy between the way he's quiet offstage and the energy he has on stage shocked me so much for a long time at first!
Forgot to mention, RM doesn’t have a drivers’s licence because he is famous for being very clumsy and in his words “Suga said I shouldn’t drive for the peace of the world” He did say he may get his licence later on when he’s in his 30’s
When suga really said in his music video "Daechiwita": "Thank god I'm a genius ". He wasn't joking 😄. When it comes to music, he's really good at it and some other aspects too. He is actually one of my bias in BTS when it comes to rap.
Sometimes their playfulness or sarcasm and things like that might confuse you. I think you misunderstood RM's reaction. Lol. He love his brothers so much. He was just letting them mess with him. Others know he can't handle compliments and also they love him and genuinely wants to praise him.
Well another example of RM, suga and JHOPE ways of thinking and how they reflect it in a song is the song UGH (spoiler alert) So SUGA starts with complaining about people who are just angry without a reason and mocks their way of looking for a fight even though it's meaningless to be angry.(upset about what he sees as illogical) RM comes and say anger is human thing and it can change the world if used the right way (upset about what he sees as waste of energy when it should be done the right way). Jhope comes and say that anger hurts people (feelings).

@@sjm5750 Some people can feel it differently of course. But for me, it's very clear and not interchangeable : RM sing with his sharp intellect, and he "talk" to my intellect and reflexion. He has this big commanding voice that demands respect. Even when he goes soft, he sounds like a father comforting his child. I respect him a lot , even if he is younger than my son Lol ! J-hope brings a very upbeat energy to his rap with an almost rhythmic singing tone. His voice is the beat and cadence his body dance on. Makes you happy just listening and looking at him. He speaks with his heart and feelings, directly to your heart and feelings. Suga’s flow and cadence are very poetic. There’s a rawness of emotion in his voice that even if you don’t understand what he’s saying, you can feel it. He spits his words with all his raw , honnest and deep innerself. He is the soul of the song, and he hits me hard with his lyrics... I hope I can explain myself well, it's not always easy for me because english is not my mother langage (I'm like Jimin, I learn english by watching Netflix Lol ! I liked your explanation on extroverted and introverted decision. Although RM here was like that, he often reciprocates and deflects the compliments to the team equally. BTS is infamous for being known for generously complimenting each other at any chance they get, but RM just accepts it here, as he should but it is funny to me, but most times he is too humble like the rest of them, but i do agree they have varying ways and amounts of how they take compliments. Like people are suggesting.. It would be amazing to the watch the festa dinner videos.. Like starting from the beginning. 2013 to 2022. They do it every year. They just sit around a table and talk about what happened during that year. During 2018 and 2022, they had alcohol on the table too... those were the two extra emotional ones.
Suga is like the wise old man of the group. He is the most street-smart of all of them, maybe because he struggled the most as a kid being more poor than the others. At a young age he had to make decisions like choosing between eating or taking the bus. If he eats he has to walk further. He ran away from home too as a teen without money from his disapproving parents. He had an accident by doing a part time job as a delivery boy, he hurt his shoulder really bad. He had surgery just last 2020 for it. So he was in pain all these years, there's a video you will see him dancing and clutching his shoulder.
Suga has called himself a genius since day one. He is also such an apt liar that unless what he is saying is so outrageous, you wouldn't be able to tell. He also cooks and feeds his brothers with love. Interesting, huh? RM hates compliments, he deflects and shifts the topic to other members all the damn time, it’s really infuriating!
This is one of their better interview. Especially noticeable there is no interviewer lol but there are tons of interviews that they look bored, uninterested and looked pissed. Some interviewers arw just plain ignorant. Great reaction!

I totally get what you mean with SUGA looking like a genius. That's probably why he is my bias, aside from the fact that I have a few things on common with him, like staying in the background most of the time and listening quietly. But, different to me, he knows when to speak up and share his thoughts. I read something recently that I thought was a very interesting take on how they work together: RM is the brain, always calculating. J-hope is the glue that holds them together strongly. SUGA is the old, wise mind of their friendship and band. Jin is the youthful backbone, keeping them upright. Jimin is the soul that provides harmony and balance. V is the down-to-earth but still a little silly human who always sees things from a different angle. Jungkook is pure manpower who helps them push through but still playful enough to always amuse his members.
Loving your reactions so far, you can tell that it isn't just superficial reactions and you genuinely want to get to know BTS. Another little interview like this is the Vanity Fair "How well does BTS know each other" I think you would enjoy it seeing as you liked this one.
JHope was deflecting the compliment, yes, but he was joking - he named RM and Jin, who are not natural dancers and have been known to struggle. (They're still very good dancers! Just in a group with excellent dancers, and it doesn't come to them easily.)

I feel like it would be better to begin with an older festa, like 2018, to see the progression... the 2022 festa was very emotional because they anounced they would take a break as a group, but were not able to tell the fans that the decision was made mostly because of military stuff (and I'm sure many other problems we will never know) The other festas are more relaxed and fun and help someone to get to know them better in my oppinion

So you would get to see them in pairs (for example rm interviewing suga) and in a more serious mode since they're all talking about their contribution to their BE album which they worked on during lockdown. I think that the funny group interviews are super entertaining to watch. They make for great reaction videos and give you an overall impression of their personalities and their group dynamic. You could watch the linked video a little later or even on your own time, if you want to have a little more to analyze. All the BTS members took the Meyers-Briggs test. "Despite being international superstars, most of the BTS members tested as “I” types, which stands for introverted personalities. V tested as INFP, J-Hope as INFJ, Suga as ISTP and Jungkook and Jin both tested as INTP. Yes, tho RM is the spoke person but you will notice many times suga incharge in responding to jurnalis question about serious matters, act like legal spoke person in the team. And Suga secretly good in English but choose to speak korean. Suga and Jin are 2 different persona off camera. 7 of them are brilliant, Bang PD acknowledged that since beginning.

He has this air of someone who thinks, in fact, before anything else. RM has repeatedly credited the members for helping him play the role of a good leader! He always says that the members and he fulfil each other's "lackings", and from what I understand, he is quite shy and uncomfortable when it comes to taking compliments! You will get to know, as we proceed in your BTS journey. 22:52 someone mentioned already, this interview is more playful and Namjoon is visibly playful here and just "takes" compliments, he usually always about group and he actually learned more how to "accept" compliments and credit over last 2-3 years more. And still every time someone says "you are good leader" he is like: team helps me be good leader. He attributes 5% of bts success to himself only. But still seeing him finally being able to accept compliment and not deflect it every single time is something that i loved to watch develop over last couple years. Especially it became evident since 2020 when, I personally saw how Namjoon became more sarcastic and dgaf during interviews where journalists made stupid questions, and you'd be amazed how many stupid questions people come up with even when you are given 10 min with top artist in the world🤦 i think in 2020-2021 they finally settled in their status, so you can see they are more relaxed and dont play so much in games those lazy journalists impose.
The part where Jhope was being like no RM and Jin are the best dancer he was kinda being sarcastic cause in general they are all very good dancers but in BTS, RM and Jin could be in the bottom. Plus I think it's not all just black and white, there are a lot of times when each member showed both introverted and extroverted personalities. You'll know more as you watch them.

In my personal opinion, you, who met them a few weeks ago, have gotten more about what they mean as BTS, enough about their thoughts and and what makes them different from each other, than a lot of people who have called themselves ARMY for a considerable amount of time. . I think you're doing very well. I said in one of your first reactions; that your skepticism at first showed credibility in your interest in doubting and then being interested in finding answers. That's a good thing, it's great. Take your time, do your analysis however you feel comfortable and don't feel pressured in any way.

22:53 i would not say rm is neither of these, he just gets very shy and is quietly blushing or going 'no no no' when he is getting complimented, well obviously there are some different situations for like interviews but that is another thing, this is just him with the members
Interestingly enough, it's hard to guess their personalities all of the time based on interviews. Especially American interviews where they're hyper-aware of the fact that it's a rarity for Korean idols to be invited to such things and they need to come across as likable, entertaining and charismatic. They're all of those things already of course, but I notice they do make an effort to play it up a little. Much like many entertainers tend to do on screen vs off screen even on TH-cam. RM, for example, stays quiet and doesn't make any eye contact with anyone when they compliment him and his leadership in this video. It may seem like he's accepting it and soaking it in. Actually this may be one of the few times where he doesn't deflect, cringe, blush or change the topic when getting compliments (particularly about his good leadership). He often turns red, ducks his face away, covers his face with his hands, visibly cringe or wince, try to talk about how other people would be good leaders too, talk about how it's not hard with such a great team, or some combination of these things. I don't know if he's been working on his reactions or if he's gotten used to it enough to not react so vicerally. Over time it seems like he's practiced not reacting so overtly to such compliments and he'll just play it off like they're joking (in an "Aww shucks, thanks guys" kind of way). Or sometimes, like here, he'll just sit through it and not comment until it's all over and they move on. Jin, for another example, has an overly confident on screen persona that he uses in interviews and talk shows. He actually has a lot of social anxiety and will hide away from crowds and avoid mingling at get togethers if possible. He tends to need to have someone he knows with him to introduce him to others or he can get too nervous to talk to people. There's a clip of him getting ready for an event where he's without BTS. He is seen in a private room nervously fidgeting, sweating with shallow breathing at the idea of meeting new people. He's seen trying to practice his interactions and worrying about not being seen positively by others. His friend had to hold his hand and take him around to meet others. Jin actually is terrible at accepting compliments when he's not actively putting on his confident persona. He will accept awards and spend the entire time talking about how it's a team effort or that other people were deserving, basically doing everything but accept any solo achievements. He hides behind jokes and playfulness when he's uncomfortable or shy about things sometimes so it's hard to read him unless you do it for some time. His "Yes I'm handsome" thing is a great deflection because he knows it gets laughs and that no one thinks he's conceited but it allows him to move past things quickly after.
You might have to watch more Namjoon content to be honest, I don't think this fully represented how he handles compliments. He seems to do back and forth based on his confidence level or whether he's in full professional mode or not. Sometimes he'll get pretty shy about it. There is something very interesting in the way RM seems to think. Obviously I can only base this on what he's allowed us to see over the years but he seems to know what his strengths are, but at the same time doesn't think highly of himself. He's humble and reflective a good 90% of the time, he's very much a deep thinker. Joon is also very critical of himself and always looking to grow. And some might disagree with me, but I think he worries a lot- not just on one particular subject but just in general. Though I think that has a lot to do with how reflective he is and how his experiences have shaped him. I think the more you watch him, the more he'll be full of interesting surprises for you. As always, I really enjoyed your insights and observations. I also think the concept of personality superpowers is really interesting, I'm going to have to try and figure out what mine is.
Yes Suga is amazing. The way he can talk about everything with such a deadpan and calm demeanor is so cool though. Also, he works super hard. He's always working on something.

Your definition for extroverted response for compliments is spot on for RM though unfortunately this interview you watched is one of the few (and maybe the only one) interview where RM doesn't divert the compliments to the members and instead decides to stay silent about it. Though all of the members have this tendency to have difficulty accepting compliments and instead turn the compliment to the other members. (Though you can most likely see this in their solo interviews or inter-company interviews since they are more bare and honest in those. You can also check the Bon Voyage series or clips to see more of their personalities and dynamics!) Good luck on your journey!
I saw RM being really shy about being complimented as a leader. Here he wanted to make it fun as it was a relaxed discussion . Also J-Hope said RM is a better dancer half as a joke, cause RM and Jin were always the least talented dancers in the group (they are good, but the standard is very high in BTS)

This comment is for those who made comments about RM: Decider functions are either De (others first before self) and Di (self first before others). Saying that someone is Di does not mean he is already a selfish human being. It means he thinks/feels first on what he believes is true or values first before taking in others' reasons or values. That person may go with his De or stick with his Di in the end of his decision making process. As for RM, if we see both his De and Di constantly in his interviews/videos, then probably, he has a more balanced De and Di cognitive functions. This means, he can be balanced with people and self--- he knows when to take the compliments and he knows when to deflect them. He is more imbalanced with things and pathways (he always ponders what will happen to him/them in the future...what if he won't make music anymore...")--- that is his imbalance--the control and chaos of abstract and reality (Observer functions, Oe and Oi...which is a whole new lesson to learn in cognitive functions). So there is no need to fight among ourselves if RM is De or Di...because he is probably more balanced on his people and self issues. He can flow with both. What is Sir Cyrus is just saying is an EXAMPLE of what a Di does. And yes, we all do Di thing...and BTS is not an exemption...because we are all human. :) and being Di is also a good thing because we can't always deflect good things/success in life...we also have to own them. :)
This was a very nice explanation, thank you! I am one of the comments but I actually "got" at least half of what you explained from Cyrus' comment, and I feel others did to. Just wanted to point out that this example is not really representative of his behaviour around getting compliments, more likely is the exception. That doesn't meen the analisis is not right because of a million other reasons :). I actually enjoy a lot this type of analisis and I love learning more about this kind of stuff.

Talking about genius in BTS? They have 3, RM, Suga, and Jimin who is a math genius and had been consistent honor student in gradeschool and middle school and first honor in High School and schooling in SK os very tough.

As to JK there is no record as to whether or not he had scholastic record in schools. Unlike, Jimin who got an honorary award from his arts school in Busan for his par excellence performance both in the academe being a consistent first honor student in the entire class of entire Art Department and extra-curricular activities as he was a consistent class president from middle school to high school and, more importantly, for his contribution in making his art school not only famous but also as a tourist spot in Busan. As to RM, although he was not always on top of his class there are records to his IQ test results at his old schools and the apparent evidence is when he joined the IQ test program in SK and had it not been for their impending tour at that time, he would not have landed second. Why? Because RM has to cut short his stay in that program.. As to Suga, he won in poetry contests when he was in grade school and middel and there are accounts to that at his schools in Daegu. JHope's par excellence record in Dancing are likewise documented.. For Jin, JK and V, unfortunately we have'nt found any record about their academic excellence performance, except that the finished college despite their bsury schedule -- which is truly worthy of emulation. Besides, the 3 of them, including Suga, even admitted it in Jimmy Fallon's interview their not so good performance in school durong their pre-university schooling. But, Suga said that it was because he had to work to fund his hobby in writing music and as a result he did not do well in school.

Namjoon actually doesn’t take credit for being a great leader. I think this interview is a bit lax and fun for them so he’s playing into that but he’s said himself that he doesn’t think he’s a good leader and that it’s the other members that make him seem good in response to someone complimenting his leadership.

I do think Suga is a very special and unique person too, RM is obviously very intelligent but I think they stand out in different ways, and often even RM says how unique he thinks Suga is, and you can clearly tell how astonished he is of his abilities, they respect each other so much and have a very strong bond, its really nice to see their relationship even tho it may not be very clear to people that are just getting to know them, they been together the longest and it shows
I think you would really enjoy watching their FESTA! I would recommend, maybe starting from 2018 FESTA Dinner! It is where they sit down and chat as a whole group around their debut anniversary each year. I love hearing from them.

lol you don't know RM well enough, he's actually dying inside while they're giving him compliments. That is the face of him awkwardly restraining himself in order to let them do whatever they want. Sometimes it's not that you want to take the compliment, it's that you want to let others freely express themselves, even if it makes you feel uncomfortable. Usually whenever they compliment him, he is always thanking them instead and deflecting the praise. And when they joke around about taking the leader position away from him, he's like PLEASE DO IT. Since this interview is more of a laid back fun one, he's letting them go on and on for the humor of it. It's like letting a comedy bit run it's course. But he's not actually very comfortable with it, you can tell on his face if you know him better. That's his awkward face.

I don't agree that his method is that good and I explained why. Don't know if he'll actually read it though. At the end of the day, if his method induces negative reactions from most people, perhaps it's something he should reconsider.
While going through the comments you showed interest in the song Converse High bc it shows how their differing personalities can be portrayed through their lyrics, another good example of this is Suga and RMs song Strange (on suga’s second mixtape D2). Here they discuss their views of the world but even when they agree, they agree for different reasons. To me, Suga is more practical while RM can be very idealistic. Jhope really does balance these two. It seems like Jhope is loud and talkative but he actually is a great listener and keeps everyone centered. RM has talked about how he is constantly thinking about the future and Suga has expressed concerns that he is too fixated on the past while Jhope (Jin as well) is focused on the present. The dynamic between all seven is very interesting, they are all very different and yet similar too. I do believe that if any member was missing the balance would have been thrown off.
What i love about RM he always compliment his members and give them the opportunity to talk and express themselves laugh enjoy the moment that's why their bond as brothers show the love to each other. His a good leader which makes them famous now globally 💜💜💜
It’s funny but Rm is actually more likely to deflect compliments than take them as his due, even in the video he was more resigned (like here we go again lol) than matter- of-factly accepting the compliments. Suga on the other hand does tend to accept certain compliments about his ability and even calls himself a genius (bc it’s true lol).

The fact that Suga's studio is called the Genius Lab and that he knows he's a genius and called himself that way several time🤯 He has set up his studio on his own, he's a big tech and electronics fan/ technician and a workaholic.
He definitely is a genius, he doesn't speak much in public settings but when he does he means every word! I latch onto every of his words, because it feels like everything has an intention, everything matters and that's also why I think having a conversation with him could be so enriching. He actually enjoys a lot taking on this advisory role (giving life advice to ARMYs in his lives, teaching the members new stuff, giving advice to younger producers...).
He has knowledge over such a wide variety of subjects and often busts out random historical or any facts which makes me wonder if he learned the encyclopedia sometimes😂 If there is any opinion presented as a fact he is gonna call it out, call out the bs and ask for the scientifical reason behind everything! If he doesn't want to be excited he's gonna stay calm regardless of the setting, if he wants to get loud, and goofy he gets loud but one thing for sure he's gonna keep it real😂 It took me a bit of time to understand his personality but he's so funny, unique and raw!! And the dichotomy between the way he's quiet offstage and the energy he has on stage shocked me so much for a long time at first!

When suga really said in his music video "Daechiwita": "Thank god I'm a genius ". He wasn't joking 😄. When it comes to music, he's really good at it and some other aspects too. He is actually one of my bias in BTS when it comes to rap.
Sometimes their playfulness or sarcasm and things like that might confuse you. I think you misunderstood RM's reaction. Lol. He love his brothers so much. He was just letting them mess with him. Others know he can't handle compliments and also they love him and genuinely wants to praise him.
Well another example of RM, suga and JHOPE ways of thinking and how they reflect it in a song is the song UGH (spoiler alert)
So SUGA starts with complaining about people who are just angry without a reason and mocks their way of looking for a fight even though it's meaningless to be angry.(upset about what he sees as illogical)
RM comes and say anger is human thing and it can change the world if used the right way (upset about what he sees as waste of energy when it should be done the right way).
Jhope comes and say that anger hurts people (feelings).

He has this big commanding voice that demands respect. Even when he goes soft, he sounds like a father comforting his child. I respect him a lot , even if he is younger than my son Lol ! J-hope brings a very upbeat energy to his rap with an almost rhythmic singing tone. His voice is the beat and cadence his body dance on. Makes you happy just listening and looking at him. He speaks with his heart and feelings, directly to your heart and feelings. Suga’s flow and cadence are very poetic. There’s a rawness of emotion in his voice that even if you don’t understand what he’s saying, you can feel it. He spits his words with all his raw , honnest and deep innerself. He is the soul of the song, and he hits me hard with his lyrics... I hope I can explain myself well, it's not always easy for me because english is not my mother langage (I'm like Jimin, I learn english by watching Netflix Lol ! I liked your explanation on extroverted and introverted decision. Although RM here was like that, he often reciprocates and deflects the compliments to the team equally. BTS is infamous for being known for generously complimenting each other at any chance they get, but RM just accepts it here, as he should but it is funny to me, but most times he is too humble like the rest of them, but i do agree they have varying ways and amounts of how they take compliments.

Suga is like the wise old man of the group. He is the most street-smart of all of them, maybe because he struggled the most as a kid being more poor than the others. At a young age he had to make decisions like choosing between eating or taking the bus. If he eats he has to walk further. He ran away from home too as a teen without money from his disapproving parents. He had an accident by doing a part time job as a delivery boy, he hurt his shoulder really bad. He had surgery just last 2020 for it. So he was in pain all these years, there's a video you will see him dancing and clutching his shoulder.

I totally get what you mean with SUGA looking like a genius. That's probably why he is my bias, aside from the fact that I have a few things on common with him, like staying in the background most of the time and listening quietly. But, different to me, he knows when to speak up and share his thoughts. I read something recently that I thought was a very interesting take on how they work together: RM is the brain, always calculating. J-hope is the glue that holds them together strongly. SUGA is the old, wise mind of their friendship and band. Jin is the youthful backbone, keeping them upright. Jimin is the soul that provides harmony and balance. V is the down-to-earth but still a little silly human who always sees things from a different angle. Jungkook is pure manpower who helps them push through but still playful enough to always amuse his members.
Loving your reactions so far, you can tell that it isn't just superficial reactions and you genuinely want to get to know BTS. Another little interview like this is the Vanity Fair "How well does BTS know each other" I think you would enjoy it seeing as you liked this one.
JHope was deflecting the compliment, yes, but he was joking - he named RM and Jin, who are not natural dancers and have been known to struggle. (They're still very good dancers! Just in a group with excellent dancers, and it doesn't come to them easily.)

I feel like it would be better to begin with an older festa, like 2018, to see the progression... the 2022 festa was very emotional because they anounced they would take a break as a group, but were not able to tell the fans that the decision was made mostly because of military stuff (and I'm sure many other problems we will never know)
The other festas are more relaxed and fun and help someone to get to know them better in my oppinion

It's a long video I know. I'm recommending it because each member is getting interviewed by one of the other members. So you would get to see them in pairs (for example rm interviewing suga) and in a more serious mode since they're all talking about their contribution to their BE album which they worked on during lockdown.
I think that the funny group interviews are super entertaining to watch. They make for great reaction videos and give you an overall impression of their personalities and their group dynamic.
You could watch the linked video a little later or even on your own time, if you want to have a little more to analyze. I myself tend to enjoy that to, so I've rewatched these one on one interviews several times.

Yes, tho RM is the spoke person but you will notice many times suga incharge in responding to jurnalis question about serious matters, act like legal spoke person in the team. And Suga secretly good in English but choose to speak korean. Suga and Jin are 2 different persona off camera. 7 of them are brilliant, Bang PD acknowledged that since beginning.

I don't think I have the same power as you, but for me you always reminds me of Suga.. for 3 reasons...you two don't fake it when you're not feeling something (it shows on your face when you don't like a video 😆)....You don't talk to talk ( if you don't have something interesting to say you just sitting there watching...unlike most reactors).....and finally the way you say "I love you" awkwardly at the end 😂 ( it seems that is hard for you to express your feelings)
I would love to agree but You have to trust Armys RM really doesn’t know how amazing he is. He just have to handle his members compliments becouse they never hestitate to give him those. 22:52 someone mentioned already, this interview is more playful and Namjoon is visibly playful here and just "takes" compliments, he usually always about group and he actually learned more how to "accept" compliments and credit over last 2-3 years more. And still every time someone says "you are good leader" he is like: team helps me be good leader.
He attributes 5% of bts success to himself only.
But still seeing him finally being able to accept compliment and not deflect it every single time is something that i loved to watch develop over last couple years. Especially it became evident since 2020 when, I personally saw how Namjoon became more sarcastic and dgaf during interviews where journalists made stupid questions, and you'd be amazed how many stupid questions people come up with even when you are given 10 min with top artist in the world🤦 i think in 2020-2021 they finally settled in their status, so you can see they are more relaxed and dont play so much in games those lazy journalists impose.
The part where Jhope was being like no RM and Jin are the best dancer he was kinda being sarcastic cause in general they are all very good dancers but in BTS, RM and Jin could be in the bottom. Plus I think it's not all just black and white, there are a lot of times when each member showed both introverted and extroverted personalities. You'll know more as you watch them.

10:00 Oh, don't worry so much! haha I think it's totally ok for you to draw your conclusions based on what you know about them so far. Everyone has their time. In my personal opinion, you, who met them a few weeks ago, have gotten more about what they mean as BTS, enough about their thoughts and and what makes them different from each other, than a lot of people who have called themselves ARMY for a considerable amount of time. .
I think you're doing very well. I said in one of your first reactions; that your skepticism at first showed credibility in your interest in doubting and then being interested in finding answers. That's a good thing, it's great. Take your time, do your analysis however you feel comfortable and don't feel pressured in any way.
You see SUGA as genius and his studio where he produces BTS'albums is called GENIUS LAB.

22:53 i would not say rm is neither of these, he just gets very shy and is quietly blushing or going 'no no no' when he is getting complimented, well obviously there are some different situations for like interviews but that is another thing, this is just him with the members
Interestingly enough, it's hard to guess their personalities all of the time based on interviews. Especially American interviews where they're hyper-aware of the fact that it's a rarity for Korean idols to be invited to such things and they need to come across as likable, entertaining and charismatic. They're all of those things already of course, but I notice they do make an effort to play it up a little. Much like many entertainers tend to do on screen vs off screen even on TH-cam.
RM, for example, stays quiet and doesn't make any eye contact with anyone when they compliment him and his leadership in this video. It may seem like he's accepting it and soaking it in. Actually this may be one of the few times where he doesn't deflect, cringe, blush or change the topic when getting compliments (particularly about his good leadership). He often turns red, ducks his face away, covers his face with his hands, visibly cringe or wince, try to talk about how other people would be good leaders too, talk about how it's not hard with such a great team, or some combination of these things. I don't know if he's been working on his reactions or if he's gotten used to it enough to not react so vicerally. Over time it seems like he's practiced not reacting so overtly to such compliments and he'll just play it off like they're joking (in an "Aww shucks, thanks guys" kind of way). Or sometimes, like here, he'll just sit through it and not comment until it's all over and they move on.
Jin, for another example, has an overly confident on screen persona that he uses in interviews and talk shows. He actually has a lot of social anxiety and will hide away from crowds and avoid mingling at get togethers if possible. He tends to need to have someone he knows with him to introduce him to others or he can get too nervous to talk to people. There's a clip of him getting ready for an event where he's without BTS. He is seen in a private room nervously fidgeting, sweating with shallow breathing at the idea of meeting new people. He's seen trying to practice his interactions and worrying about not being seen positively by others. His friend had to hold his hand and take him around to meet others. Jin actually is terrible at accepting compliments when he's not actively putting on his confident persona. He will accept awards and spend the entire time talking about how it's a team effort or that other people were deserving, basically doing everything but accept any solo achievements. He hides behind jokes and playfulness when he's uncomfortable or shy about things sometimes so it's hard to read him unless you do it for some time. His "Yes I'm handsome" thing is a great deflection because he knows it gets laughs and that no one thinks he's conceited but it allows him to move past things quickly after.

You might have to watch more Namjoon content to be honest, I don't think this fully represented how he handles compliments. He seems to do back and forth based on his confidence level or whether he's in full professional mode or not. Sometimes he'll get pretty shy about it. There is something very interesting in the way RM seems to think. Obviously I can only base this on what he's allowed us to see over the years but he seems to know what his strengths are, but at the same time doesn't think highly of himself. He's humble and reflective a good 90% of the time, he's very much a deep thinker. Joon is also very critical of himself and always looking to grow. And some might disagree with me, but I think he worries a lot- not just on one particular subject but just in general. Though I think that has a lot to do with how reflective he is and how his experiences have shaped him. I think the more you watch him, the more he'll be full of interesting surprises for you.
As always, I really enjoyed your insights and observations. I also think the concept of personality superpowers is really interesting, I'm going to have to try and figure out what mine is.

Your definition for extroverted response for compliments is spot on for RM though unfortunately this interview you watched is one of the few (and maybe the only one) interview where RM doesn't divert the compliments to the members and instead decides to stay silent about it. Though all of the members have this tendency to have difficulty accepting compliments and instead turn the compliment to the other members. (Though you can most likely see this in their solo interviews or inter-company interviews since they are more bare and honest in those. You can also check the Bon Voyage series or clips to see more of their personalities and dynamics!) Good luck on your journey!

I saw RM being really shy about being complimented as a leader. Here he wanted to make it fun as it was a relaxed discussion . Also J-Hope said RM is a better dancer half as a joke, cause RM and Jin were always the least talented dancers in the group (they are good, but the standard is very high in BTS)

This comment is for those who made comments about RM:
Decider functions are either De (others first before self) and Di (self first before others). Saying that someone is Di does not mean he is already a selfish human being. It means he thinks/feels first on what he believes is true or values first before taking in others' reasons or values. That person may go with his De or stick with his Di in the end of his decision making process. As for RM, if we see both his De and Di constantly in his interviews/videos, then probably, he has a more balanced De and Di cognitive functions. This means, he can be balanced with people and self--- he knows when to take the compliments and he knows when to deflect them. He is more imbalanced with things and pathways (he always ponders what will happen to him/them in the future...what if he won't make music anymore...")--- that is his imbalance--the control and chaos of abstract and reality (Observer functions, Oe and Oi...which is a whole new lesson to learn in cognitive functions).
So there is no need to fight among ourselves if RM is De or Di...because he is probably more balanced on his people and self issues. He can flow with both. What is Sir Cyrus is just saying is an EXAMPLE of what a Di does. And yes, we all do Di thing...and BTS is not an exemption...because we are all human. :) and being Di is also a good thing because we can't always deflect good things/success in life...we also have to own them. :)

I am one of the comments but I actually "got" at least half of what you explained from Cyrus' comment, and I feel others did to. Just wanted to point out that this example is not really representative of his behaviour around getting compliments, more likely is the exception. That doesn't meen the analisis is not right because of a million other reasons :). I actually enjoy a lot this type of analisis and I love learning more about this kind of stuff.

Talking about genius in BTS? They have 3, RM, Suga, and Jimin who is a math genius and had been consistent honor student in gradeschool and middle school and first honor in High School and schooling in SK os very tough.

@@bee12117 i did not say thst JK or the other are less intelligent than Jimin, RM of Suga. That accounts about the 3 being geniuses were just based on documented research. As to JK there is no record as to whether or not he had scholastic record in schools. Unlike, Jimin who got an honorary award from his arts school in Busan for his par excellence performance both in the academe being a consistent first honor student in the entire class of entire Art Department and extra-curricular activities as he was a consistent class president from middle school to high school and, more importantly, for his contribution in making his art school not only famous but also as a tourist spot in Busan. As to RM, although he was not always on top of his class there are records to his IQ test results at his old schools and the apparent evidence is when he joined the IQ test program in SK and had it not been for their impending tour at that time, he would not have landed second. Why? Because RM has to cut short his stay in that program.. As to Suga, he won in poetry contests when he was in grade school and middel and there are accounts to that at his schools in Daegu. JHope's par excellence record in Dancing are likewise documented.. For Jin, JK and V, unfortunately we have'nt found any record about their academic excellence performance, except that the finished college despite their bsury schedule -- which is truly worthy of emulation. Besides, the 3 of them, including Suga, even admitted it in Jimmy Fallon's interview their not so good performance in school durong their pre-university schooling. But, Suga said that it was because he had to work to fund his hobby in writing music and as a result he did not do well in school.
