- Changed part of one of the main segments because I changed my mind on a point I originally made. Maybe that's a silly reason to change something, but I want to make sure I'm happy with my videos. I kind of rushed this one initially because I was excited to get it out after the first one "blew up." I won't be doing that again lol

I’d really love to see your perspective on the Gotham version of the Penguin, considering that was the most popular version of the character for a while. I know you haven’t gotten around to watching the whole series yet, but I’m not pressuring you to. Take as much time as you need!

You know my only tripe with penguin in 2004 is that we dont see much reference to his time in japan, (i knew they had some concept on his art) we have the twins but apart from that we dont get much infomation, i feel like we could see a lot of good stories in this, like did he had ties with japanese yakusa, maybe he finish his hideout in japanase artwork. And maybe he has someone who comes to gothem looking for him as a form of mafia justice for leaving the family, like Kato who was originally bruce rival in the old show.
Have you read the BTAS comic, Batman And Robin Adventures issue 4? It is a BTAS Penguin story that I absolutely love.

Before the animation team worked on Batman 2004, their flagship series was Jackie Chan Adventures. The Penguin can do Chinese Opera stuff because it's a holdover from that show.
Honestly, I really dig the design for the 2004 series Penguin. He’s still a grumpy lil chubby dude, but his sharp teeth give him a sense of danger like “Oh shit I shouldn’t mess with this guy, he’ll bite my hand off”, it makes me think of how a lot of birds beaks will have many sharp ridges in their beaks or how penguins have sharp serrated needle-like spines on the top and bottom of their mouths.
I like his orange hair as it helps contrast with the other colors of his design. It also brings to mind the term “Red-headed stepchild”, which goes along well with Penguin being this unwanted, disgraced, etc.
Very much yeah, his whole design in the first part was ment to throw us off seeing penguin as harmless, since well he has two henchmen that seem way more dangerous then him, it seem they mix the two concepts of animilistic and the gentlemen.
