Im in colorado bro . Starting up in commerce city on tuesday ! . I was driving semi trailers out of town and i wanted to do something local and the whole hiring process took about 3 weeks man thanks for the video
I’m proud to be a trash driver. I’m ASL now but I started in FL. 5’10” and only 170 pounds and I had no issues doing FL . I’ve seen big dudes that can’t handle it
That’s what I love hearing! I’ve had dudes from elite teams in the military that throw the towel in. Jobs definitely not for everyone. Thanks for commenting!
Thanks for this helpful info. I have been working in different career for 17 years. I am considering getting a cdl and applying to be a garbage driver. I dont understand why people would choose to haul fuel/ a bomb when you can do garbage for similar pay.
It’s hard work I’m out of a branch in So cal . Just started training . You’re out of the truck all day moving bins in the heat . For 10-12 hours . Rarely are you able to pull up and stab the bins . Just know it’s not easy but it’s a great career with awesome pay and benefits. I can only speak for the commercial side. If you’re on the fence you should try it out but it’s not for everyone .
Im glad i found your videos. Im in process of becoming a garbage truck driver for Recology in California Bay Area and i wanted to know how garbage truck drivers feel about the job. The pros and cons. Like you said the only con i see is the early start. Lol. But im willing to hustle.
Hell yeah! That’s makes making the videos worth it seeing comments like this, thank you. You get used to the early days for sure I think you’ll love it! Good luck. Let me know how you like it when you start!
I enjoyed watching your video, thank you. What are the working hours? Do you work on Saturdays as well? Also, is it possible to apply for a position as a roll-off truck driver?
Yoo I just applied as a trainee, do you recommend it? Or should I get the cdl A and apply straight as a driver. Not sure which would be best to start making 🤑 asap. Ty and hope to hear from you soon.
I had a phone interview with waste management as a front loader. I have a class A with OTR flatbed experience. Im waiting to hear back. Hoping the pay is as decent with them out here in Houston
Hell yeah! Good luck. Front load is so fun I think you’ll love it. When you land it update me please! I’m curious to hear what the wages are down there
I'm near you here in Pasadena TX. Debating on going to WM or republic. What's the pay starting off for you at WM? I got nearly 3 1/2 years of dry van tractor trailer (CDL-A) experience.
There is 3 departments: Rear load, Front Load and Roll Off. Rear load is where 90% of people start off at which is the lowest paying. Right now they are starting at 24/hr. Front load pays the most that ranges from 27-40/hr. Roll off pays in between and is the easiest job. I wouldn’t necessarily say there Is a max pay.
@@TrashyButClassy1776 they actually don’t have a number for me to call them… I applied onto waste management, I was surprised since I’m a Class A with experience but I guess that’s not my luck lol also republic service I have applied but haven’t got a recruiter to call me back either.
Head over to their actual shop that you applied to. Ask for the hiring manager and just see what your application update is. Hope that helps! Good luck my brother!
I just got my phone call today and have my scheduled in person interview in a few weeks. My one question is, since I have my med card already (I am an OTR semi truck driver) which is good for another year, will they make me do another actual DOT physical as well, or will they just honor the card I already have and have me do the "can you push and pull 50 pounds" little deal?
@@TrashyButClassy1776 Ahhh okay that makes sense, I know some companies will honor your existing card (which I was kinda hoping cause I don't feel like waiting in line for another physical haha) but good deal. Fingers crossed the interview goes well, I've heard nothing but good things about Republic and they service my own neighborhood at home so I see them all of the time. Hopefully in a few weeks you'll have one more driver joining your ranks, up here in Michigan 💪🏾
@@TrashyButClassy1776 Update! Just had my interview yesterday. They said they are union in my area, I'd start as a bulk driver at $22.65 an hour (I'm from Michigan but the terminal I'd be out of services the Toledo, Ohio area). Definitely a bit of a pay cut to what I make now driving OTR, but with the benefit of being home every day and getting a mandatory 12 hour paid workout daily lol so I don't mind it. And apparently they're at the table with the union or whatever right now trying to get a "significant pay raise" by some time next year for the residential drivers. Not sure how true that is but that's what I was told! He also said that they'd honor my current medical card! Just have to do the drug test and the motor vehicle record stuff (which I know I'll pass both with flying colors cause I don't do drugs and my driving record is clean). He said depending on how well I do as a bulk driver I could move up to ASL within a few months, but obviously moving from that to commercial or roll off will take longer since they pay so much better and nobody wants to leave 🤣 And with it being unionized it all comes down to bidding and all that. They had about 3 or 4 open positions for drivers but like 10 or 11 people applied so they're going through all of the interviews now and seeing who they want, I should know if I got it or not within the next week so fingers crossed!
To be honest this day and time is surely easy bcs they have Asl now!! Back in the day we had to be on a rear loader and junp out to throw cans..1200 houses a day and take everything....lazy days i say
Exactly!!!! For us swing/lead drivers we go and do rear load every now and then and seriously it’s not even hard anymore lol. Makes you appreciate the days we’re in now.
Hey I’ve been watching your videos I appreciate you, I’m moving to Colorado Springs next month and want to drive for republic.
Very nice thank you for reaching out! If I could help in anyway feel free to reach out again!

Thanks my brother, cheers!
I have 5 years cdl b driving experience. Ive applied to republic recology and WM in the bay area. No luck on getting an interview unfortunately
Dang it man sorry to hear that! From what it seems like positions out that way in California are pretty hard to get!
Thank you bro im looking forward to working there.
You’re welcome. Hell yeah that’s exciting!

What is a toter driver? What type of truck
It’s probably a side load automated truck. Google that and it will pop up, they’re really cool
Can you go over the pay scale? Starting pay and what you can max out as? Also the different positions with the company?

Hey are you allowed to have a headset in?
If you are driving technically speaking no
How many hours a day do you work
You don’t need an osha?
WM shock market is at 210
Hey dude where do I apply? I’m trying to look online but I can’t find anything atm
Where are you located? Give me a city and state and I’ll send you the link
Do they accept people with DUI #6 years old?
They do actually. I know a lot of drivers with dui on their records.
WM as a program for cdl students
can you leave me the information
Yes of course. What exactly would you like to know?
Had no luck in the in person interview any tips?
Have you called them to get an update?

Monday thru Friday and every other Saturday. Usually anywhere from 9-12 hours
