I'm not saying it would be a bad thing if his wife forgives him and they get back together, IF THAT'S WHAT SHE WANTS, forgiveness is not a bad thing, but it should be told from her perspective, not a given "reward" for Alec's character development.
Women aren't trophies for men's good behavior. If anything, Alec changing to be a better father for his son while respecting his ex-wife's wishes if she doesn't want to get back together with him would be just a satisfying as him getting back with her.

How can they do everything so perfectly. The helpers are perfectly balanced for the finale, the dynamics between the characters feel so real, the writing is good(which is something I feared every total drama fan show would lack in terms of jokes and actual game flow) literally everything is so good about this show. I feel conflicted Yul is evil and isn’t redeemable whatsoever. But there was just something about Yul’s face getting burned where I was like woah wtf. Grett is 100% my favourite character and Yul deserves a lot of bad to happen too him, but just Grett crossing that line I guess, physically harming him. Yul did do a lot worse to grett so it’s totally justified but it just feels sad maybe? (not sure how to describe the feeling) to see her go to that level herself.
