This vlog brought me to tears. I studied abroad in Sweden and fell deeply in love with Stockholm. Gamla Stan is so charming and beautiful. Felt like I was there again through your video. So happy you went!!
My favourite Swedish word is "vårkänslor" (a direct translation would be "spring feelings" - that feeling you get when spring has arrived and you're all happy inside)
I would like to add that culturally and mentally I think Swedes tend more to lean towards Anglo-Saxon Culture rather tah the german. Everybody in Scandinavia speaks English and Music is Always sung in English. A lot of Swedish sing and songwriters are big in both UK and US. You can Google Swedish Music. ABBA, Roxette, Ace of Base, Cardigans, Avicci, First aid Kit just to mention a few. Dont forget Max Martin and Shellback who writes all the Music for Taylor Swift, Araiana Grande, Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake etc.
This reminds me so much of when my sister and I were travelling in Barcelona, we decided to do our own things and I ended up just shopping and walking the streets, looking around etc, and it was the best! I don't know why people are so scared to travel alone, inform yourself and know what places you shouldn't be in and otherwise it's chill, you eat what you want, see what you want and it's a fun time!
I am from Sweden, and I am glad you traveled to Sweden and walked around! It is the best way to experience the city of Stockholm! Hope that you will come back soon and experience more! Love your vids!
I recently traveled to Iceland, Sweden and Germany and it was an amazing experience! I loved watching this video because it was cool seeing all of the places I've been again :) Isn't Sweden so fresh and clean too??
@@onizate Well ill just have to visit Copenhagen! Iceland is pretty clean too. It felt so foreign walking around a city without seeing garbage in the streets.
so ironic because i traveled alone in stockholm as well and stayed in a hostel too. loved gamla stan and the ice bar, it was so fun! i'm reliving it thru you ;)
It looks like you’re having so much fun. I’ve been watching for a while and I remember when you said awhile back that you weren’t having a ton of inspiration to travel. I’m so glad you decided to explore 💚🌎
I don't hear it often but I always loved the word serendipity. The lights on the ground outside of the store we call "marschall", I guess you would call them outdoor torches or something similar in English. We usually use them when it's a more festive occasion, but some stores tend to light them up, like you saw walking by, during the darker months of the year.
I live in Sweden and I was just in Stockholm! I'm so happy you liked it here and I hope you'll come back some day! Love your videos so keep doing what you're doing! ❤
The Ice Bar looks like it's on a totally different planet. Very other worldly. I'd also say that this trip seems to have brought you and Vanessa closer together.
Monica, I've been watching your videos on this channel for over a year now and I absolutely love them so much. You inspire me so much to be a better artist and creator
If you want the full "ice experience" I recommend you to go to the Ice hotel in Jukkasjärvi. The whole hotel is made out of ice. You sleep on a bed made out of ice and sleep in raimdeep fur. But's like 1400 km from Stockholm.
You could title your video “my car is dirty” “I washed laundry today” literally anything and I will still choose to watch it first. I love the vibes and the quality you give us.
I haven't seen any video of yours before but I can say right away that I appreciate the editing going in to this vid. I hope you've had a great stay in Sweden!
OMG when you said you talk yourself out of buying anything, I related so hard. I always do that too! I find some reason why I don't need something which is nice but also makes me feel picky even though I'm not trying to be
I just keep coming back to this video and watching it over and over again! Time fore me to subscribe to your channel. I come from Sweden myself so it's cool to see this video. :D
Going to Sweden (I also live in Washington) for 2 months starting in August!! I hope to meet someone like you while I'm up there. Trying to find myself in my time over there but also would love to try to meet some other positive people 🙏
6:11 If you're buying any wool sweathers buy them in Iceland *not* Norway or Sweden, the Icelandic ones are *so* much warmer. That said, they're slightly less durable and quite expensive so it's a bit of a give and take. I'm looking forward to seeing your video from Norway. I guess you've already been there by the time you actually share the videos. Anyway... If you ever go there again I *strongly* recommend *not* buying junk food or resturant food but to buy food in the grocery store to make yourself. Some hostels got a kitchen you can use. Use that. It'll save you *so* much money. =) By the way, if you ever head towards Trondheim, Norway let me know please. ^^
this made me feel so nostalgic. I miss Stockholm so much. I know exactly where you are and what you are buying because i did the same thing. the coffee shops are unreal there. Fika so hard
I had a really good sparkling red wine at Olive Garden once, asked for it the next time I went (at the same Olive Garden) and they looked at me like I was crazy
The Stutterheim raincoat is a good buy, great quality. If you take care of it, it will last a lifetime. (The brand itself is still too young to know that for sure, but it's an educated guess...) :)
Hi, The outside candles is called Marschaller and is directly translated by google to cressets, A very common sight here in sweden and i never knew it might be something "local" about it, they can take some seriously bad weather before they go out. This video was recomended to me, im happy that i clicked. take care.
I just wanted to say I really love your content! The cinematography and the editing are super cool and whenever you post a video I am always so excited to watch it!
awwh i just adore you. you always seem so happy and you're traveling the world. i love your videos, but ive also fallen in love with your personality. you are what i aspire to be one day
i've been binge watching your videos since yesterday, but what really won me over was your dorky moment about words, here. adorable! hahaha also, i can relate
I feel like if you're ever in England you'd really enjoy going up north to like Yorkshire and the Lake District. Full of quaint little towns and beautiful scenery and great places to hike and walk, filled with history. Perhaps not as grand as London or Stockholme and such but I think you'd enjoy it if you were ever in the area. Also ethereal. I wish I had more excuse to use ethereal.
Nooo I wish you had the chance to try Aifur!!! It’s a classic set up for a Viking dinner!! Amazing food and an amazing experience. But still great video(:
Well that Stutterheim raincoat is something that Kanye West, Lorde, Jay-Z, Natalie Portman, Selena Gomez, Cloe Moretz and other celebrities have bought and worn. Normally myself as a Swede and living my whole life in suburbs of Stockholm, I rarely purchase anything in Gamla Stan, as it's generally more expensive targeted towards tourists. You can find more original clothes, ornaments and such made in Sweden and even locally in normal shops and boutiqes when walking around in Stockholm (outside of Gamla Stan) for cheaper prices.
Stutterheim has really nice rain coats! Good purchase, both sentimental value and great quality and design. ;) As for a norwegian sweater (Marius sweater is really popular), it can be hella expensive in the tourist shop so most of us norwegians that have it knit it ourselves/get our grandmothers to knit them. They are super warm and norwegian :)

Wayne Williams Yeah, actually they both are Germanic languages. They have the same origin, so the words are similar :)
Yes it is. German, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Icelandic ,Dutch as well as English are all Germanic languages.
I would like to add that culturally and mentally I think Swedes tend more to lean towards Anglo-Saxon Culture rather tah the german. Hi
Hello
This reminds me so much of when my sister and I were travelling in Barcelona, we decided to do our own things and I ended up just shopping and walking the streets, looking around etc, and it was the best! I recently traveled to Iceland, Sweden and Germany and it was an amazing experience!
I loved watching this video because it was cool seeing all of the places I've been again :)
Isn't Sweden so fresh and clean too??
As a Swede, yeah it's pretty clean but then i visited Copenhagen (denmark) and it made sweden look like a garbage pile. Cleanest city I've ever seen!
@@onizate Well ill just have to visit Copenhagen! Iceland is pretty clean too. It felt so foreign walking around a city without seeing garbage in the streets.

Your vlogs are the best I have watched so far! Your enthusiasm and funny nature are just so infectious...
I don’t know the exact reason but this was one of my favourite vlogs of yours ❤️
Omg same 😂
Because it’s Sweden
I don't hear it often but I always loved the word serendipity. The lights on the ground outside of the store we call "marschall", I guess you would call them outdoor torches or something similar in English. We usually use them when it's a more festive occasion, but some stores tend to light them up, like you saw walking by, during the darker months of the year.

Didn't know that you had been to Sweden. So fun to see! Lot of love from south of Sweden
The Ice Bar looks like it's on a totally different planet. Very other worldly. I'd also say that this trip seems to have brought you and Vanessa closer together.
Sweden is my favorite country and I’m loving these vlogs!!
I live in Sweden so when I saw the title I literally screamed " Monica is in Sweden!" For like 10 minutes 😂❤️
I enjoy the word indubitably, I don't really know why, I just do!
That raincoat you got is super nice! I used to work at Nordstrom and they sold the brand Stutterheim and the raincoats costs like $200+
What I love about your videos is that it's very interesting to watch, you're always traveling and have good taste in music.
you’re the real MVP for providing the information of where you’re staying/transportation!! Can’t wait to go myself
Loving these vlogs!! Yay for another one!!
Aaah Monica! I'm currently on exchange in Vilnius, Lithuania and i'm going to Oslo next week! So exciting!
I love waking up every morning and watching your vlogs :) puts my day off to a good start

Visco, abundance, multitude, cherry... so many!!!
You could title your video “my car is dirty” “I washed laundry today” literally anything and I will still choose to watch it first. I love the vibes and the quality you give us.
honestly I wish I could just name it millennial life crisis #1, #2, 3, #99, etc.
I haven't seen any video of yours before but I can say right away that I appreciate the editing going in to this vid. I hope you've had a great stay in Sweden!
OMG when you said you talk yourself out of buying anything, I related so hard. I always do that too! I find some reason why I don't need something which is nice but also makes me feel picky even though I'm not trying to be
also i love the word sophisticated! it just feels so good to say
Yes sweden i great. Hope you come back some time.
I have been following you for some time now, and I can tell you that you always make my day. I love your content! So inspiring...

I love this soft vlog, it just feels pleasant and relaxing to watch. 😍

Monica the ice bar is very cool❤️❤️❤️ i love your Videos i am looking Forward your new videos
Glad you enjoyed Sweden! You picked a great time to come here too, the fall is beautiful in stockholm :) Ha en bra dag!
That icebar looked a bit like a miniature of the ice hotel up in the north of Sweden, built by ice from the river.
That sparkling red wine is called Lambrusco, it's typical to the Emilia Romagna area in Italy. I personally love it!
I just keep coming back to this video and watching it over and over again! Time fore me to subscribe to your channel. I come from Sweden myself so it's cool to see this video. :D

Ayyyeee! Love seeing my country through other people's eyes! So interesting!
I haven't been to many but the word cathedral always sounded nice, as pretty as the builds themselves.
You should check out the ice hotel they have in Quebec City. It's pretty neat! I've always wanted to stay a night at it.
it was so weird watching you in my hometown. hope you enjoyed your stay!
The Stutterheim raincoat is a good buy, great quality. If you take care of it, it will last a lifetime. (The brand itself is still too young to know that for sure, but it's an educated guess...) :)

My favorite english word is serendipity😍
Cellar-Door, it a really pretty set of words
I love the French word for cucumber, it’s comcombre, it’s so fun to say
I really like the word ‘inadequate’
You should visit Halmstad as well, Monica! Small beautiful city on the west coast of Sweden.
Love your editing of Stockholm! Looks so pretty through your lens.
Did you know that there is an ice hotel I Kiruna?
Very nice city
Existential and interstellar are pretty words. Kaleidoscope too. And omg throwback to VMK I played that when I was a kid too
Nooo I wish you had the chance to try Aifur!!! It’s a classic set up for a Viking dinner!! Amazing food and an amazing experience. But still great video(:
Synchronicity, versimilitude, and ululate are some of my favorite words.
If you like pretty words you would love the horse's names at hunter/jumper shows!
