Pt. Sanjeev Abhyankar , a vocalist of high calibre and beautiful voice quality can be regarded as a true heir of the Mewati Gharana of Music.Taking his initial taleem from his mother Late Smt. Shobha Abhyankar and Pt. Gangadharbuwa Pimpalkhare ,he became the foremost disciple of the maestro Pt. Jasraj.Having many devotional and classical music albums and prestigious music festivals to his credit, Sanjeev Abhyankar has won a National Award for Best Singer Male for 'Suno Re Suno Re Bhaila'.
He also trains aspiring students of music at his residence in Pune.
He is also into composing his own compositions ,and has left his stamp over all the aspects of the Mewati Gayaki.
