Rice farming in Indonesia (Bali)

Whenever I used to think about rice farming I used to think about China exclusively. But then once I saw those bright green straws germinate out from water I was glad to be at the source of something I didn't know I should expect.
Indonesia is the third largest producer of rice. It is the source of livelihood for about 20 million households. That is about 100 million people across the country. The importance of Rice farming in Indonesia culture is demonstrated through the reverence of Dewi Sri, the rice goddess of ancient Java and Bali.
