I love the classic look of a black pen! I have many… sailor pro gear, 1911L, KOP, Pelikan M800, 805 and a M1000 on the way. A Lamy 2000 and Al-Star, Pilot custom 742 and 743…..loved me a black pen!!!
I wish I liked black pens more, but I've sold all my black and clear pens. I like idea that you can put whatever ink you want in them, but in practice, I never wanted to pick them up. I've found I really like my pens to have their own personality or character and black pens just don't grab me. I think it's fabulous that you've found a way to enjoy them in your collection.
@@seemownay I say that, and then if it's a plain brown pen, I'll love it. 😂 The only thing I can figure is that brown is warm and comforting and black does not feel the same to me.
The Lamy 2000 might be the perfect black pen. Maybe the perfect pen? It writes well and the look of it is (to me) timeless in a way that most other pens aren't.
For matte pens, I assume they will get glossy over time with use (oils in our hands)…I’ve seen someone post a comparison between an older vs new Lamy 2000…even that pen gets glossy over the years. But it’s not necessarily a bad thing…it tells a story of its full life it’s had 😊
I am bored to death of black pens, which I've bought to obtain various nibs at the best price. I prefer pure, even colors, perhaps contrasted by finials of a different color. This esthetic is well in play with both Sailor and Franklin-Christoph, my two favorite brands.
That's absolutely fair - I think the reason why I came upon black pens is because I wanted to try the nibs and found I didn't mind the black after all.
I swore I wasn’t going to buy a boring black pen and then someone let me write with their Lamy 2000 and I realized maybe it isn’t so boring after all. 😂
I love black pens, but only have a couple of them. Helps me not go so matchy matchy with the ink!
This is definitely a bonus of black pens!

That’s a great collection of black pens!

It is so interesting how people are drawn to different things, but I definitely understand that.

I love black pens. The ink color combinations are endless and I love that. Did you sell the pro gear? I’m interested if it’s still available.
No, I haven't sold it yet - want to send me an email? seemownay@gmail.com

It's definitely up there!

I agree - that's definitely a part of the charm and "story" of a pen that has been used!

Get the green version, or brown.
Well, that just doesn't do it for me. LOL. I can't spend so much more on the same writing experience.
@@ichirofakename I bought the black and THEN they came out with the green. LOL. But the price of the green was, sadly, out of my budget. .
I am still in search for my first black pen.. (sorry, it won't be the Lamy 2000)
Hahaha. Have you been able to try one yet?
