Yes I am a HS varsity coach. The seams are definitely different, along with the core, and leather..not to mention they are sooo expensive but you can tell the second you hit one of those out of a pitching machine compared to the other standard cheap BP ball!!!!
I was playing D-2 ball in 2015 when the NCAA switched to a baseball with seems modeled after a pro ball. I personally can confirm from that point forward they flew MUCH further.
How about for pitching. In the 90's we used Diamond balls in HS, Legion, and D1 (the 3 variations were very similar). They had higher tighter stitches that gave incredible grip and made them feel smaller than Rawlings balls. Anyone remember these? You could throw nasty at all levels w/ those balls, but many like myself couldn't throw nearly as well with Rawlings like the Cape Cod ball.
Kinda makes sense about the pro balls being formulated for the differential to really stand apart on the wood bats at a higher rate than the BBCOR bats. Awesome video as always, fellers!
Sport check where im at mislabeled a box of the expensive balls and I have never pulled out my debit card so fast. Just the way the leather connects with the bat feels better
I got 2. One that hit me in the arm trying catch it, someone returned it to me after they showed me crying at the jumbotron and a 2nd from when Mark McLemore made the last out and came over and gave it to me
Now check the hits in different temps. I went to a coldish night game at fenway and the pitchers where having trouble putting zip on the ball. The catcher were constantly shielding, expecting wild pitches out of frustration. I could tell a fast ball was coming just by the change in stance. I goal tended soccer (turf indoors, outdoors, futsal) for a decade and cold days were very different vs playing in the summer heat. Ball curves way more in the denser, cold air vs straight lasers in the summer. I rather know where the ball is going but the heat also fatigues me. So there are trade offs .
I recently started working alot with 14yr old nephew whose a freshman this year and will be trying out for his highschool team. We mostly been using juggs pitching machine balls with and without a machine and some 14u baseballs. I just ordered 4 dozen fsr100-p balls online to use for BP with my nephew. I am really interested in knowing how they will carry in comparison to the jugg dimple balls. A few guys I know that played said they always felt like they hit regular baseballs further than pitching machine balls but I'm not sure I agree..It has been years since I played baseballs. Right now though between the 14u bb and the jugg pmb I feel like it's not even a comparison when it comes to distance. I sent a few jugg balls into orbit because they have so much bounce. We do hit alot more of the dimple balls because we have 50 of them and only 5 baseballs but I'm curious to see how the college bb compare. I searched online but I can't seem to find anything that confirms or denys which will fly further. Maybe a video idea you guys would like to explore?
In my opinion. The Wilson 1010 was the best for me 35 years ago. lol. We also had a Wilson 1012. It was flat seamed and you could literally make dents in it. The 1010 was also my favorite in pitching. High seams and slick. I could really torque my curveball and my fast ball would "cut" in on a right handed batter naturally. I could also throw my knuckleball better with the 1010. The 1012 was a marshmallow. lol
i want to see the difference between a baseball and a cricket ball. not only how its hit but i think a baseball pitcher would be able to make the cricket ball swing/curve more
Hey I have been watching you guys for a while now and I think a review that would be very cool and fun. Would be to review the 2018 DeMarini cf zen drop 3. It is a very good bat and I have swung it for a long time and it just recently broke/died. I hope you can read this comment and think about it. But if you don't then keep making amazing videos :)
Bud!! My phone is listening and communicating with that Baseball Bat Bros!!! I saw something about making sure when you are measuring exit velocity use college balls. I coached my son from 9u to 12u, so like most Dad’s that coached I have buckets of balls that I have had over the years. Got to get some college balls!!
For real. Test a lemon peel ball and a 1900s deadball vs modern. I have a link for both and from experience lemon peel balls may come off the bat softer but they float pretty far with little effort
And don't forget those MLB balls seem to get hotter during Playoffs. Major Leaguers always complain about how those balls are changing every year and travel in bigger stage games
Sup will! Quick question, I am a 5' 5" high school player, I want a good one piece that can last quite a while, but I don't want to pay a giant amount of money lol. Any suggestions? I am a solely contact hitter. Preferably less than $300.
bat bros Louisville Slugger is releasing a repaint and new taper version of the atlas which i guess is gonna be the 2025 atlas but i might get it and i wanted to see how it performs compared to the 2024. thanks for the awesome content! yall have helped me a lot on my journey through baseball.
Can you do the different High School NFHS sanctioned baseballs? They might be similar, but the different manufacturers might have slight variations on their model of baseball.
Quick questions here, did I miss something or was there a falling out with Bruce Bolts gloves? Why the switch to Franklins? Also, where's our homie Zak these days?
Watching this part of me wants to know how much speed you could get off the old "no sting" pitching machine balls. I dunno if those get used anymore, but those might be fun to test out in a wildcard "just because" video. I remember them stinging like a motherf--uhhh, yeah, if they hit you. Also, for pitching machines that threw curve balls they were hilarious. Legit had no idea where the ball was going out of the pitching machine. Maybe a better idea for Sim than this channel, but could be entertaining all the same. Good work, as always.
You guys need to test out the difference between new vs game used balls. I use those A1010HS1 balls in my Sunday league, and we use 6 balls per game total. By the end of the game, they're all caked up in dirt and scuffed from foul balls landing in the parking lot before being re-used.
I wonder if it's a case like in slowpitch, where the USA bats hit the softer balls a little better. The BBCOR bat hit the NCAA ball within 1 MPH of the MLB ball, but the wood bat was well above the NCAA ball with the MLB ball
I threw the little league ball only 82mph... the ncaa was 87mph and the mlb was 93mph. Smaller=less wind in the way. Also the smaller the seams the more the curve will move. The knuckler... I made mine drop 2.5 feet. It was hilarious to watch.
Due to high schoolers not having as much power, why wouldn’t they use a ball similar to college or mlb? Wonder if the thicker laces for high school results in a big decrease in velocity
Hopefully you see this comment but I think you should retry the vapor review. I use it and it’s a lot better in warmer weather and it was super cold when you used it. I think it might be better if you retry
What up what up! Ok I have a request for the next video - use the mlb balls and the hottest softball bat from the hottest bat video and let’s see just how high we can press exit velo and distance. Maybe even do it in the mountains and let’s really see how far it’ll go 🎉🎉
Yes I am a HS varsity coach. The seams are definitely different, along with the core, and leather..not to mention they are sooo expensive but you can tell the second you hit one of those out of a pitching machine compared to the other standard cheap BP ball!!!!
give me a chance coach
I was playing D-2 ball in 2015 when the NCAA switched to a baseball with seems modeled after a pro ball. I personally can confirm from that point forward they flew MUCH further.
My men’s league just went to pro balls and they fly with that reduced wind drag
You guys are correct. But the pitchers missed those high seams
Give Giancarlo Stanton a hype fire, 2019 MLB Balls, and high elevation to hit like 600+ feet
Doubt it
@@michaelmiller4105he def could with that set up
The thing I fear is... the bat doesn't survive after one barrel.
@@Nunnayadambiness give it good ol layer of duct tape to keep it together
I bet he'd hit worse with that bat to be honest, way too small and light his swing would be fucked
This was a great test, glad you decided to do it. There is no argument regarding the drastic difference between each ball. Thank you!
Kinda makes sense about the pro balls being formulated for the differential to really stand apart on the wood bats at a higher rate than the BBCOR bats. Awesome video as always, fellers!
I’m glad that you did this experiment. I knew that there had to be *some* difference in performance between each baseball. This just proved it!
"Frickin rocks bro!"😂 Never heard that before to he totally honest.
Can you send me a bat im swinging a rawlings plasma
Thanks for being honest!
@@DjDino-or7dgis ur name Brock? I may know i
FINALLY! do more of these but compare the most commonly used youth balls which is the wilson 1010s, diamond dol-A, and the Rawlings ROLB USSSA.
Sport check where im at mislabeled a box of the expensive balls and I have never pulled out my debit card so fast. Just the way the leather connects with the bat feels better
$25 for a baseball is crazy...😬
Great video! Congratulations on a great season JT. I love watching the way you and the Cajuns play ball.
This is the review I have been waiting for. Thank you!
Y’all should hit 2019 mlb baseballs with the -5 hype fire 😨
I believe they tried that in the second guiness attempt
They just used normal MLB baseballs with the juiced bats. Hype fire, icon, and some of the gorilla era bats from the 90's.
More like softball bat
We have some of those balls for our travel team. At 12U the kids kit 15’-30’ further.
Can we get a bat madness with JT and Cam this summer
That would be nostalgic
Yes please!! Bat madness
That would be something I would pay to see lol
JT HACK!
Not many things more satisfying that the feel of a new game ball..
wish you can find a late 90's/early 00s MLB baseball
Even if they did, it wouldn't be a fair comparison. Sitting around for 20+ years is probably going to affect the ball significantly
I got 2. One that hit me in the arm trying catch it, someone returned it to me after they showed me crying at the jumbotron and a 2nd from when Mark McLemore made the last out and came over and gave it to me
It probably wasn’t really the balls that caused the power surge during that era.
@@michaelsteffany5039the balls were juiced up…lol
When I was playing the Diamond D1 was the Pro-V1 of baseballs
Right on. 👍
Have you tested any old skool titanium bats on your channel?
And yes we use the Wilson A1010
What state are you in?

I’d like to see Wilson vs Rawlings vs Diamond vs Marucci using all their version of a high school ball.
First time on this channel and it’s amazing. Is the field model on the tracker Charles Schwab?

Nice vid Bro keep up the good work!
Finally!! Please make more comparison videos like this. 👍
Next, the pecos league balls
Now you guys just need to do this same test with the Japanese balls 🥲
I always believed that we had a variety of juiced baseballs in the Majors since 1994. It was so obvious compared to seasons prior to 1994.
Nice video you have inspired me to play baseball❤

Would the difference between baseballs affect pitching velocities when throwing?
Do a comparison with batted ball velo off a progression of lower to higher pitched mph

Will you cut them in half to see what the difference between the balls are?

So you are indeed using high vis balls. I could never tell for 100% sure watching on my phone. Cool choice. Love those yellow balls.
