      Randy, I guess your right in a way lol, I was mainly talking about people who show cars to win some plastic trophy but don‘t use the
      cars and enjoy them for waht they are if that makes any sense! Cheers Dave

    With you all the way on the seats Dave. It’ll be the most comfortable XK150 on the road - certainly more usable than as standard. Cars are for driving!

      Thanks! I have been told on numerous occasions from owners that the original seats don‘t support very well and there quite upright, I have been told that they can be bleached and redyed another colour which is something i need to look in to. Cheers Dave

    Dave I’d prefer the original seats, but guess what, it’s your car and you can do exactly what you want and it will be gorgeous. So enjoy
    Cheers 🍻 John

      John, Thanks, I will hang on to all of the original parts that came with the car even though there past there sell by date. Hopefully
      will not sell the car in my lifetime but what they do with it after i‘m brown bread is an another matter lol. Cheers Dave

    I agree if the seats make the car more useable for you then fit them and enjoy it. Kind regards, Richard.

      Richard, I want to spend more time driving the cars than restoring them in the future so seats has to be high on the list of
      creature comforts along with being able to take some luggage unlike the E Type lol

    Dave, if those seats don’t work out for you for some reason, I believe Mazda MX5 seats are a popular upgrade for E Types and might be a suitable alternative for your XK150. Great stuff as always.

      The MX5 seats have been used by Nigel the E Type shell we rebuilt and they look great when there re-upholstered, Cheers Dave

    I agree with you dave... I love going to shows but the thought of spending 00000's to compete for a £5 trophy doesn't do it for me

    Dave I know what you mean about (some) car show people! I’ve come close to decking a few! The guy who accused me of having a ‘cheque book restoration’ came closest, it was only the leering faces of a couple of my buddies who expected the worst from me that pulled me from the brink! I only go with my daughter occasionally now as she can control with a look. If you knew me you would understand that check book is unfortunately not in my grasp. I like your channel and also do everything my self - it’s that or nothing!
    I also like the way that people talk to me about her car like I do all the work - then I have to pull her off!
    But the real question is why do this to ourselves? Perhaps I should have taken up gardening!

    • @ClassicCarCave
      @ClassicCarCave  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Colin, I know what you mean i had a guy say to my wife once about my E Type Oh! you restored it yourself is that so you could afford one! I came back with No i restored myself because i can lol, I have heard of some Mini shows where the tyres have been wrapped in cling film absolute BS and then they get some 4.99 plastic trophy for best car what a joke. Cheers Dave

      Colin, I do agree there are days when i think why the fuck i‘m i doing this at my age but i guess it‘s rekindling your youth
      in a way as we couldn't afford the time and money when your working and briniging up a family lol. Cheers Dave

      Peter, I‘m talking about the Anal set that that polish them all day long and the only light they see is when they open the garage door lol. I had to go back and check what you meant it‘s a plastic bag or a condom for an elephant lol, Cheers Dave

    I guess you already have the SNG Barratt XK150 Catalogue . If that might give you some clues.

    • @ClassicCarCave
      @ClassicCarCave  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Malcolm, I am using SNG in Holland since Brexit and i don‘t have to pay and extra taxes but the issue of getting stuff from the UK
      is not likely to get any better soon, Just had a big issue with the post office over 50 washers & Whitworth bolts, Cheers Dave
