Happy with the buffs just got to see how they play out. Just have to feel a little worried with how overly dedicated to fixing the endgame they are right now when I wager most people are still stuck in the campagin do to how much of a slog it is currently. The ascendency trial alone is causing me so much issue do to the honor and how hard it is to avoid getting hit so much on a lot of the paths.
@ I told my friend that i cant craft good rare gear because i dont have regal orbs or maybe i had 4 regal drops, im lvl 45 act 3. You know what he told me? He told be i should trade exalts for good rares on the trading site. Now you can guess how many exalts i have dropped
I beat the campaign, it was indeed challenging, but if I ever got stuck I just farmed a zone for an hour or two and then steamrolled that wall, so it's not that bad just have to lock in
In campaign progression for poe1 you get enough of a power spike per act to get through it without requiring the need to farm unlike in poe2 where everytime you enter a new area you are required to farm cause the resources are too scarce for progression, in fact poe2 behaves more like an MMORPG whereas poe1 is more of an arpg during the campaign
They been developing this for how long? Delays? They knew all this. Focus testing and all. Your youtuber saying this is a perfect game.. so they didn't crash and every 40 minutes and find nothing during gameplay
@@ackmaster80505 years, pandemic in between. So what? You still need to do beta testing, and that's what you do on an early access. Your take is pretty bad.
I agree I think the game is kind of too easy (I’m a merc) to the point where I’m kind of bored I feel like this is is melee classes losing their minds. I’m genuinely worried the games gonna be to easy and I’m gonna quit
@@Regan4491 right?? I don’t get this reaction at all and I’ve played warrior … I’m super worried about that too but I do think ggg know what they’re doing and they haven’t done anything to make me feel like this has changed their vision for the game… if the game becomes easier like people want then making strong builds will lose all meaning …
I'm still using my LV 6 staff as a lv50 sorc ... I have spent all my currency on randomised staffs , I just can't seem to get good gear , I'm hoping this buff helps even just a bit
I think spells scale differently If you get a +4 to level and a spell damage mod. I think you can go a very long way without changing as mod matter more on spell than weapon damage. But I nvr play spell so what do I know
I played with my first freezing shard staff (lvl5) up until char lvl30 because it had a 78% spell damage mod. Eventually I switched to a lvl8 freezing shard with more stats but less spell dmg... Now that I write that I probably should figure out if the first staff isn't still better 20+ char. levels later lul
Martial weapons don't work like this, also as you level up the ranges get better on gear so I hope you're using alt when inspecting and if not at least making new gear from whites on the ground, ad long as they have a slot you can make them decently strong whatever lvl you're at
They don't want people speed running campaign like poe 1, they have always stated they wanted the trash mobs in campaign to mean something and not just be mindless props that you blast past on your way to end game, it should be rewarding making it through the campaign into maps The reason why people are mad about not completing the campaign is because of fomo, the reason people want to be in end game first is so they can charge inflated prices for endgame drops before others get there as is the case in poe 1. I understand peoples concerns on drops and melee but I hope they don't go back on their vision for this game all because a vocal minority are moaning on reddit, most people are just playing the game for what it is supposed to be and waiting for changes. There is a reason this game has better appeal for most over poe1 and its not because they want to be first to maps and ignore the campaign.
What the point of the game if you can't even enjoy the meat of the campaign? That just means the core gameplay, which will exist in the endgame loop, will suck as well.
The game is a few days old yet people complain they didn't reach endgame yet. The problem is not the game. The problem is the impatience of gamers. Game looks great, yet quite hard (which is perfectly fine).
@@JorgenPOE I'm level 11 in first act. I never played PoE1 before, and I'm completely clueless at skills etc, but I wasn't expecting to be finished with campaign either. The game is fine. Grind out some zones to get more passives if you are stuck in campaign
The problem with a long campaign is that it prevents most players from creating multiple characters since the grind is too tedious. Also, considering Poe is a seasonal game that wipes your characters, I can't see most folks with families and jobs willingly getting on every season to do the campaign for 30-40 hours which is a problem for replayability.
Perfectly fine for you. If that's the case then market it to people like you. No mention ever was said to anything going on as it is now. We all expected poe1 And got this mess of identity
It seems ggg is so worried about end game they are forgetting that we have to get thru the campaign first. Hope they instill the map buffs to the campaign next patch.
No phasing. You can walk backward and aim to avoid being surrounded. There are escape skills. There are skill that pin or block enemies from surrounding you. And now you can push some enemies out of the way. If you get pinned against a wall and killed, then you did something wrong because there is already a stack of tools to prevent it from happening. Wanting phasing is wanting automatic forgiveness for playing poorly.
What skills are talking about? There aren't movement skills in the game currently. Casters have no knock backs the only avoidance method a caster has is roll in circles to try to avoid terrain features.
That would work only if there wasn`t this problem: the game AI is designed with mobs swarming and surrounding you and the game's core mechanic, roll, doesn`t help with preventing that. You can`t always plan because there are certain areas meant to be death traps where enemies will spawn from all directions and surround you only after you reached a certain point in the room. So this planning you talk about goes right out the window. This is why they are buffing roll and address the beetles in Keth. So far the game is either Path of Rolling or Path of Backpedalling. Some classes may leap or jump out of a situation but that's not true for all.
Do y'all run weird single target builds? AOE lads! I bully the mobs. Those beetles in Keth are super easy to deal with. If you're build doesn't have a way to overcome them then I think you should rethink your build.
Some of these people are just being angsty just to be angsty. It's like Stockholm syndrome in a video game. People have legitimate concerns about rolling. Simply saying "No" is stupid. You're talking about counter play to a hypothetical situation in your head that has no basis on what people are actually experiencing in the game. If a significant % of people are getting body blocked / stunned to death -- it's because there is a problem. If it's killing build variety it's a problem. Right now the counterplay to getting swarmed is to build 100% damage and kill everything before it gets to you and that's stupid degenerate gameplay too. The fix may just be as simple as "Give people better gear, so that they can A.) Kill things better, B.) Run faster, C.) Not die when they get swarmed." But just saying "No" some edgelord teenager baby shit.
Lets come together as a community. No matter if you think the game is hard or if you think its easy i think we can all agree i should still be able to use my mouse and keyboard while im playing on controller.
@@aubreyleblanc2843 your right and I think dealing with the passive tree is just as bad. To me the game feels so much better on controller with it being so dodge heavy but UI navigation is killing me. Lol
I'm going to be honest man my excitement was starting to dwindle but now I'm fully hyped again. It's not just the changes, but the willingness to change. I've got PTSD from other game devs and IPs (that shall not be named 🤐) where they do too little too late. Time to drop what I'm doing and LOGIN!
Yeah, i'm glad they are not anchoring; they need feedback though.. not people saying the game is perfect. it is not, it is an EA; there's alot to fix and tune.
@@JorgenPOE Could not agree more. A lot more folks (with platforms) are starting to speak up even if it's the unpopular thing to do. Appreciate you throwing your hat into the ring as well 🙂
Yeah i fully agree, i was not having much fun. A game is supposed to be fun and not frustrate you. Also giving some decent criticism makes sense, we want this awesome game to get better before full release. But i have trust in GGG that they will do the right thing
@royal_nemesis i am happy with the few buffs just a little worried with how endgame focused this patch is when the vast majority of people, i would wager, are still stuck in either act 2 or 3 of the campaign due the inability to gear to be strong enough to push through the difficulty.
Dude, the game is not even a week old left. It's EA. Its meant to be a BETA test. The Soul Purpose is to tune the game for Official release. We are testers first, and players second.
Huge W imo. This seems just like some quick buffs they wanted to push out. I'm expecting alot of rebalancing in their first big patch, hopefully before Christmas. At least they are acknowledging alot of the criticism and not sticking to their guns.
Early Access gonna early access, and I'm accepting of that to a degree but some of these ideas are not even half baked, like forcing players into Sanctum/Ultimatum to ascend when the power spike you get from those is mandatory. It should just be tied to the story, or the first sanctum/ultimatum you run to ascend is far easier than the later ones.
@@cashandraven2369 I ascended first try with almost full honour, this once again boils down to "git gud". The game shouldn't be too easy, it's not the same as PoE1 and it isn't supposed to be. Instant gratification culture is a plague on gaming istg
it does not, it boils down to some classes are at an advantage to others right now. i.e. warrior is designed to tank dps which the honor system punishes. This is a balance issue. it sgreat you've done well, but plenty of other players have not and its not because of 'skill issues'.
Great changes overall especially the teleport to a checkpoint. I have confidence in these devs to do smart, targeted changes. You can tell they play their game. One change I would like to see is the extreme rarity of + levels to specific elements. It took 2 characters to act 3 to finally find a +cold level on weapon even checking the vendor every single time I leveled, gambling, and upgrading white items. I saw 20+ for fire and lightning skills so I had to switch my build due to drops. My melee (warrior) had easily gotten multiple +2 to melee skills by act 3. I wish there was a better way to be more deterministic in finding that weapon with + cold skills.
the best tip i got from you today was “gear for defense, skills and tree for damage”. im bricked with out hooded one unlocked and no salvage bench unlocked with my tree all defense and level 12 with shit gear. trying to grind the levels in act 1 cemetary is impossible. some 20 hours in. thanks for the good knowledge, bro 🤘🏻
@@JorgenPOEso you think i should forget defensive passive nodes? At act 4 I started getting one shot by basic enemies and I couldn’t tell if it was from lack of good defensive gear or lack of defensive skills
@@mr.bojangles9215 pretty much. Go dps on tree and skills, and get as good of armour as you can. If you can outpace the enemy hp, this will reduce the fight times which increases your survival
@@JorgenPOE how important is armour compared to resistance? I know both are important but it’s hard to tell what’s dealing the most damage to me when I can’t see numbers
@JorgenPOE no nor yet... im pressuming that's the end game you are talking about. But to come back to the topic yeah I guess if you are a melee class that can be difficult... I play witch and I got fucked up a dew times (pretty patch) but I just tried so.ething different and fixed my issue. Question... when does mapping start? I just finished campaign on normal and it starts you on Cruel setting ... is mapping after you finish game on Cruel or unlocks during Cruel? Sorry for the essay :P
Started today and having a decent time so far in act 1 as a sorceress. Got +2 fire skill staff off the first or second boss. Now I'm stacking ES while I figure out what skills/elements I want to play long term.
Do so many people have problems clearing the campaign? Im playing a Monk full Melee and so far have been blazing trough....im now halfway trough act 2.
its not that at all. gearing drops to progress are anemic and acts 1-3 dont match the progress of acts 4-6 so the progression balance is way off right now
@@JorgenPOE I mostly had all blue equipment in Act 1 with subpar stats... Only thing i invested it was in a good blue quarterstaff from the vendors. Found one of those items that gives a Slot to Weapons, sloted in a Storm Rune and killed Act 1 boss on the 3rd try....and no..i didnt play PoE 1 (i played Last Epoch tough). Vendors are way more reliable than the drops.
I was doing horribly till I got lucky with a unique boot that explodes corpses into poison, and I instantly changed my build from minions to fire witch (with Raging Skulls). Btw, fireball and multiple projectiles is gross. I now clear areas on easy mode. So, I do agree that not getting gear early with stifle a lot of build. I feel that melee builds suffer the most, because the first ascendency trial is sanctum, and it just wrecks melees.
It's a start, there is a big lapse between act 4-6 and act 1-3 progression that doesn't make sense. mapping is fine, as and the bosses for the most. And the skills that are 'OP' now and carrying the git gawd players... they are gonna get balanced soon enough and opinions will start to change.
Great Video Jorgen Concern I've had issues with is regarding the gear as you mentioned is that the gear that's been dropping is not even class specific My first char I'm playing is a warrior didn't get my first rare til mid act 2 but the issue that I noise that I got more rares for a witch and mercenary char then for my class So basically what I'm saying is that you get more rare gear and better for another character then you do for the one your playing hopefully they can somewhat make a change It's almost sad that your playing one char to get gear for another Cheers
@@JorgenPOEyes ?! The point where i delete everything in my path i quit. I want to play ... farming mindlessly is what makes me tired. No challege = no respect
@@JorgenPOE Yes plus games not finished missing a bunch of skills and classes and campaign isn’t finished…. The campaign should be an enjoyable experience I don’t get peoples need to skip it and if so why not just ask for a complete campaign skip… campaign is content why do we want to race it… also power creep will happen as stuff is added to the game… and on top of that we will get better and quicker at beating the campaign etc …. Easier game will be less engaging and making strong builds will matter less.. I’m having a blast and just hope a loud minority don’t cause the game to change direction difficulty is not the issue … I’ve not had problems with gearing for power but I can see loot drops need to be reworked to solve issues but if anything I’d be making the game harder tbh at least some boss fights but that’s also probably a balance issue in the other direction certain things needing nerfing
So glad for the dodge roll change. I'm okay with getting trapped if I'm swarmed, but you have to give players some wiggle room, hopefully this is enough.
No phasing on dodge, you're just invalidating the swarmer type enemies whose role is to do that. The way you balance this is to reduce the hp or movement speed of the swarmers so that the player has the damage or time to kill them off before they surround you. Better loot also helps here. That's better counterplay than phasing through them only for them to swarm you again. The teleport change is so good, but it doesn't fix the issue that these large maps are too empty and unrewarding. Needs a lot more chests at deadends. No buffs to chest loot is strange, rare chests have the same problem that rare monsters and bosses have, too many gold drops that give maybe 1/20 the gold you need to buy a rare at vendors (even dropping a normal item would have more value as craft base).
I've found 3 rare armor pieces, built into shields with no damage buffs at all, played roughly seven hours, and currently have died ZERO times. I am playing range, so maybe that's part of it. So far, im loving it. Nice changes imo.
@@JorgenPOEi started yesterday an alt warrior just to try it out. I finished act1 with white 2 handed mace😂. Skills can be comboed really good if you willing to hit one more button instead of 1. This game is fantastic, i didn't enjoy a game like this since Witcher3. Maybe Witcher experience is a reason i dont mind the loot at all like other people. Shopping, crafting is good enough. I do really think that people mindsets around games matter a lot when it comes to why they dont like the game that much.
I think it’s the lack of gear and really undertuned skills along with no drops that cause ppl to get stuck. I just feel like you can’t really over level or over gear in the campaign. Like day 1 I got soft locked at the cemetery bosses because I invested everything into summons that would get 1 shot and do no damage. Causing the fight to go until I ran out of life flask charges. Some sorc from general chat joined my party to help me out and the dps he was doing was insane compared to me.
It's actually way more balaned than I expected it to be. Sure, there are some broken things that are either way to strong or weak, but this was very much expected for week one of a game like this. I'm honestly shocked at how few game-breaking things players have managed to find so far. This speaks volumes about their internal testing.
the things found have been pretty big and more will come with time. POE 1 players are ID'ing these interactions pretty quickly as we normally do the rush to endgame. I believe the srs one was causing server issues for GGG it was that bad.
The foundation of this game is fantastic. Even with me yelling at the trial master for 4hrs straight. I'm a fan boy, but boy do i agree "drops need to be enabled" and "mob density" need to be addressed. It's hard though bc if they walk it back top much it becomes trivial for ranged players...ggg got this though. Lock in
I think the main issue with campaign is that we weren't able to solve resist but if they change that we will be back to the poe1 standard where everything balanced around capped resistances. I definitely dont want that but the rune system only comes into play super late. Thats the only area where i see they need to improve. Items spawning with sockets more often should be good enough for early campaign. I beat it with barely anything. Bosses should feel challenging i think last thing i want is a nerf. We have a rune system but aren't really able to use it early campaign. Thats really probably the solution.
Even if they put phasing on some mobility skills, it would be nice. Especially for melee characters like monk, some moves make you feel like you should have phasing.
Buff the exalts for fucks sake.. Jesus. Amd yes, skill balance needs major work. They nerf 3 and dont buff any? Hope theyre working on it now. It is ea, but damn, who play tested this? Game has the foundation to be amazing, but while i understand as a poe1 player, they're going to lose a lot of potential new players if they dont hop on this shit quick.
So many people were saying the game is “difficult” that I thought my struggle was part of that. Then I switched to different char and was blasting. Some skill and class combos are definitely in bad shape. It’s no big deal. It’s just all the noise in the community makes it hard to discern what’s real and what’s not. You have Reddit ready to throw the baby out with the bath water, and you have folks like Talkative Tri that act like everything is amazing. It’s definitely just a work in progress with a lot of potential.
I played as a summoner and I have to say that I don't like it. First and foremost the units die too fast/live too short. The only moment when I felt powerful is where I could keep a full stack of temporary minions and of course the regular minions would be alive. Minions feels a bit useless in boss fights where you can't summon temporaries (no corpses) and the regular monsters summons revive really slowly. Additionally taunting is almost non-existent and the boss focuses solely on you.
Only way to fix this and trust me cause it worked for me. Use an uncut spirit gem and get raging spirits then turn that aura on and slap on firewall in your build. Trust me this made my build so much stronger. Still have to back up and roll around like a mother fucker but you will kill things. In the skill tree focus on minion damage, cast speed, and minion revive time which will help solve other issues.
Still need to get +mana, res, health, Armour and energy shield these will get you through the campaign easier (when they drop better cause I can't get the drops currently). Later on you will want spell crit and spell damage likely. Most of your armour really should focus on defense though res, armour and energy shield, health, and + mana are the main focus for armour pieces.
I don't know why no one's talked about this, but the way the passive skill tree, attribute system and classes and skill combos work now, is essentially fixing the classes to their thematic/intended builds. This isn't a problem now, because most builds haven't been explored yet; but it's kinda going in the opposite direction with the POE philosphy of your classes can be anything you build them to be. The simplest example, which I already notice during pre-launch theory crafting, is Gemling Legionaire seems great for an int/mana stacker spell build; but I have to take 10+ travel notes just to go the closest mana cluster or lightning damage cluster or spell damage cluster, previously in POE there wasn't this much excessive travel nodes, plus there are meaningful defense clusters that we can take first near the class starting location, now in POE 2 I couldn't see any possibility for me to build a Merc into a spell caster
Lvl 54 titan warrior, I do f all damage. But i disagree with alot of what you've said. Drops are fine. If you can't get past a certain point. Farm some gear. It's just people wanting instant gratification. Grow up and play the game. If they make gear drop easy then you fly threw the game and shits not fun. Im still using some lvl 27 gear and other than a few boss mechanics which feel awful (being melee) the game as a whole is great. The ONLY thing I'd say they need to do is slightly up currency drop rate. And give warrior skills other than hammer some damage. Ive gone dual two hander and it's just painful to do anything. Im at act 2 cruel currently. My friend is a freeze sorc and just breezes through every single bit of content. I think it's literally just skill gap not gear 🙄. I really hope they don't make the game too easy or it will become diablo
thats what the mapping system is for man. many people are missing the point. 90 precent of the game is in the endgame, they noted this in the reveal. Players need to be able to progress to that point with some efficiency otherwise it gates alot fo players out of the game
@@JorgenPOE The campaign can be progressed "efficiently" depending on what you mean by that exactly. (I don't think we should be expecting POE1 efficiency by any stretch.) After you've ran it once. Every other time you run it in the season it is A LOT easier if you do even the slightest bit of planning for you next character. The first time you run the campaign it is inefficient, but I think it should be that way.
@@JorgenPOE@JorgenPOE the progress is fine, you can rock through all 3 acts with gear under level 30. Making shit too easy at first would bore me. The excitement I had from beating some of the bosses after having my ass handed too me was amazing. We did the wolf boss on act 1 cruel in roughly 1-2 mins and yeah, was fun to see his health bar just go. But it wasn't a challenge. And I'm still rocking sub lvl 40 gear. Imagine i was kitted out with rare gear all my level? Would breeze though every single bit of content there is. I get people struggle, but that's when you take a step back, go Farm some gear. You can't just expect to run through everything with what you find on the floor and I think the majority of the playerbase is trying to do that. Currency sucks, but its actually alot better in cruel. I have however noticed that when you roll gear from. Act 1 cruel. Your getting terrible multipliers. As if it's level 5 gear. Like +9% armour. Etc. That needs to be changed. I played Poe1 for about 100 hours tops.so im no way near a veteran at these games, so I can progress this far with minimum issues, most people should be able to. Couple of my friends who have been struggling had there issues solved by me asking the simple question of is your gear a similar level to you. If no, Farm gear. If yes, learn boss mechanics 😂
@GregK91 you want the endgame to be the target to invest your time. If you are repeating this arc every 3 months a huge sum of the "this game is perfect" players will likely not be returning. Acts 4-6 scale correctly based on gear and are the right amount of challenge. Acts 1-3 don't make any sense based on acts 4-6 progression
They got on top of that feedback fast which is nice. Still a fair amount of things to sort out but that’s the nature of an Early Access experience. My expectation is that the game will be phenomenal by release because they will have had so much more time to iron out these issues.
One thing you said is GGG make things harder and harder. Lol wtf what a bad take they do nerf some stuff, but that's because the crazy amount of power creep they add that makes players stronger and stronger. They make the game easier EVERY League there has been. It's just people only notice the nerfs and that is why they nuked drops on launch because they knew it they every lowered them at all people would freak out and demand they change it back.
power creep happened in POE 1... but we had a huge league blow out in Kalandra. basically they introduced a system called Archnem and it almost killed the game. about 30-40 percent of the player base left overnight and GGG really tried to double down until they saw the numbers and it hit them hard financially. They are a good dev, dont get me wrong... but they focus ont eh 5 percent of things that work well without addressing the 95 percent that dont work so well. hence why we are seeing nerfs right now to skills. thinsg will get better
Respecs are way too expensive. They need to lower the gold cost by at least 80% under lvl 60 or sth. It feels punishing to just try out a new build if it doesn’t turn out to be good. That‘s why players are either holding onto their skill points way too long or just following a meta build to make sure they don‘t make a mistake. This is really annoying as it completely stops the creative process when choosing your build
I got 40 lesser flasks.and we cant vendor.recipe roll them up and I got 1 orb of alteration and some gold and no Items for my ranger. Was just absurd. And gold price instore is really odd and makes no sense
During the campaign (I am currently at act 3), I am finding very difficult to cap my resistances... not enough orbs drop to fix my resistances. And movement speed .... I am still looking for boots with movement speed. Doing those difficult/overtuned bosses in slow motion as a warrior is just self torture imho. That huge boss with a knife in a small area, in act 2 (I think) repeatedly killed me from an off-screen knife strike. Edit: Oh, by the way, is there an in-game mechanic to send general feedback from the game itself?
I dont mind the campaign being hard and a grind right now cause I'm learning the game and its new content... The problem is every league i have to play through the campaign. All i want to do is get through the campaign as fast as possible and get into the (what should be) 99% of the rest of my time playing that character. At this point I'm still in act 2 cause its so grindy I'm like, i dont have it in me to do more than an area or 2 at a time. Could be because I'm not following a real build like i normally would be, but everyone else is saying this is just ruthless which would make sense why the bs never went away
Trouble i have had, is killing a rare monster and actually getting a rare item to drop and then dying, losing it completely, Is this really a thing or am i missing something. Being able to evade better will help i think but it happen so much i was actually turned off the game a bit. To work so hard to kill one considering how underpowered i am and to lose the gear i was fighting him for was upsetting.
Yeah im level 71 warrior, the clear in maps is so slow, my basic attack does way more damage than the majority of skills. The animations for anything with decent aoe takes far too long comparatively to other ranged classes. gearing is getting better but my main issue is im not tankier than a ranged class and im certainly not clearing as quick. So whats the point in playing melee right now? and 3rd and 4th ascendancy is bugged and not granting points....
@@JorgenPOE the only decent speed clear on Warrior is Boneshatter but it still requires some setup. Let's hope Axe and Sword skills can really turn the tide, along with some much needed rebalancing of skills scaling
I love the fact that this early access has been open for 4 days and people are already saying they are going to quit because their OP 1 button build got nerfed. I like the increased drops, but the best ones should still be a reward for playing and grinding. Games are allowed to be challenging
merc is currently the top pick because you're not forced to get up int he face of enemies and the skills scale better. That's 100 percent a balance issue that will likely be resolved sooner than later.
What we all need to remember is that PoE1 isnt even balanced 100% and its been out how many years now ? So yea, we are in the very early days of PoE2, so expect things to be broken, unbalanced, unrewarding and hard.. This will change over time, as we learn new mechanics and GGG gets things tuned in better. Basically we are Guinea pig and as much as i may be frustrated i am honestly loving every moment of it..
Im new to poe, played the first one a few hours to get an idea of things before release of poe2. Honestly really enjoying the game atm. Im a few quests into act 2. Had 1 eggs orb from disenchanting. I like the difficulty of the campaign. Rather than changing mechanics, mobs etc. I think drop rates need improving, crafting needs improving from currency drops to jst in generally more ways to alter gear like poe1. Vendor prices seem very high for certain items but i know thwy want vendors to mean something not sure what they can do there. With gear though i think we jst need ways to tailor it to our builds better. Even from early campaign. Maybe make the items a little rarer like eggs orbs. I also think that once people have played more things will get easier. Its way way to early to start addressing the difficulty imho people are learning what works and dosnt. Fine tuning builds etc... it they dumb the gane down now then itll jst become the walk in the park like poe1 that becomes boring after a while. I honestly think more poe1 players have issues with the game than new players. It isnt the blast through everything all of the time game that poe1 was. Would i wanna do this every league? Now that is a very good question. Im not sure honeslty, but they could always have a league setting thay improves the level and pacing speed of the game once uve finished the campaign 1 time.
They need to give console mnk compatibility, it’s a ARPG, nearly 2025, mnk based game, with two separate UI’s… there’s no excuse others than the devs being lazy, the compatibility is there from the console side the devs simply need to enable it.
Ive been sitting around 10-20 all res and I've had no issues in the campaign. Most of my gear has been crafted and don't sleep on venders sometimes they have decent gear so check every level and eventually you get ahead of the curve. melee is all around very strong I hit 28 created a good wep and that power spike has taken me all the way to maps easy.
On my second playground and I'm not sure why noone is talking about the insurance hero that is x% increased item rarity. After mildly investing 2-3 mid on gear for this my income is vastly different from my first playthrough. Anyone else notice this?
Well nobody wants to die and ggg is not excluded. I am working the whole week but will give it a try when I get the chance. I left at the executioner after taking him down to 25%. Sad that I need to farm back and improve a bit, but in early access I don't mind. This is the biggest red flag for arpgs otherwise. If you don't have a linear story experience and you get stuck the game is bad. No problem with the player skill level just the low dps is making it feel bad. We need to give credit where credit is due and this is a step in the right direction. ❤
yep. thats exactly what I said and what most players are doing. POE 2 is front load DPS. As simple as that. TTK is gonna be a thing and that's not a good thing
Picked mercenary cuz I wanted to make a doomguy build, saw grenades and got even more excited, forgot about doomguy the second I saw poison and just knew it had to be good, saw gas grenades and went all in on poison, ended up making almost the optimal best merc build on accident 🗿 I only know this now cuz I looked up tips to improve my build and realized I already had one of the best builds in the process of being made minus like 3 perks I put into armor and evasion. Probably gonna refund them to go all in on dps, fuckin love this game
It seems like feast or famine, just like Souls and Elden. On the one hand, you see players (even melee) that smash the content. Even after a bit of figuring out. They ultimately smash it and now they are in maps dumping time into their builds. But on the other hand, there are a whole host of players asking for easier fights and dialed back monsters. But the gitgud concept is a more rewarding route imo. Drops and layout is another thing entirely. Monster scaling: Everyone should play the same difficulty, and the difficulty should be the same as those who have proven the game can be conquered at the current monster tuning.
That roll change is the best thing in all of this. Small monsters trapping you in is some BS. I’ve beat the campaign but I broke a mouse over that crap. It’s not a good design to be swarmed and pegged to death. It should be a mechanic to not get yourself into bad situations, but some of it is unavoidable and that’s not fun at all. So I’m really liking that change.
you shouldn't need to over level in the campaign when that is 10 percent or less of the game. That should be for endgame to progress the mapping system. This isn;t a campaign game like your normal game. Endgame is where the meat is. lack of early progress is highly problematic
They should dodge roll move to monk, and monk-only. Dodge rolling with a hvy armored fighter is stupid. Also given that hvy classes are slow as fuck. Movment speed needs a general +100% increase. Walking past 1 (ONE) screen edge to edge takes like 10-12 seconds. I fall asleep while walking/exploring.
i cant even get past act 2 becuse some passives dont seem to do anything atleast for Ranger and drops in campign sucks becuse i farm 5 hours still no gear
We get 0 exalts until late game in poe 1 but we get shit tons of items and a bunch of alchemy orbs and crucially vendor recipes and crafting bench so that making upgrades that are kinda decent is piss easy in poe 1. After lvl 40 I barely had to use under level gear. In poe 2 I have 0 currency, 0 item drops and while the damage of every class seems to be extremely overtuned, defences are very bad due to bad gear in campaign. I hope this patch rectifies this somewhat.
They absolutley can not add phasing to dodge roll. You can infinietly dodge roll. Adding phasing would completely destroy combat. The answer would always be dodge roll through enemies. Getting surrounded is 100% on the player. Jorgen, they buffed campaign drops too. Monk feels great. But i have seen warriors struggle. There is a segment of POE 1 players that will never like this game. While many will come around, there for sure those that hate its goals.
The game right now doesn't feel like Poe is the issue. We keep comparing to Poe 1 or dark souls... But there's more to it. Alot of non Poe 1 players are struggling indicating a flaw with the game mechanically right now
I'm now at 60-70% light/fire/frost res. I have 50%+ armor and almost 55%+ block. Wearing a shield as a warrior. I'm still giga squishy to trash. Bosses I can facetank and like 3-5 shot. But the trash mobs are kicking my ass like crazy. I'm only in the start of act3 but damn. My defensive stats are pretty big rn. And its still this hard to stay alive on trash packs. Seems way overtuned. Also the trials honour stuff. I mean... Getting hit a few times in 8 trials and you're done. It's kinda ridiculous. Step in 1 trap, get hit by 1 boss attack and a few small hits here and there and that's it. Restart. Overtuned
Reminds me of the bug with the first season of D4 where Druid's unique drop pool also had Barbarian's drops included in it so it was 2-3x harder to get anything for your own class. That was a fun one... lmao.
PoE 2 is balanced around there being an economy, just like PoE 1 - you're supposed to trade for gear. I've been exclusively SSF for so long now that this actually didn't occur to me until I saw your comment.
It's not early access. That's like saying fortnite is early access. This game is built off poe1. It's not new. Lots have changed but this is what? 10 years in the making? Diablo 4 for all it was and is broken dropped loot and was fun and empowering

I loved opening Yellow chest and receiving 5 gold 😅.. so hopefully they will change that
haha yeah, the whole loot system needs and overhaul
@royal_nemesis not overhaul but a slight increase. I have noticed a slight increase in act 2 but that could be because it's act 2 :)
@ I told my friend that i cant craft good rare gear because i dont have regal orbs or maybe i had 4 regal drops, im lvl 45 act 3. You know what he told me? He told be i should trade exalts for good rares on the trading site. Now you can guess how many exalts i have dropped
Sometimes it gives you absolutely nothing!
@@royal_nemesis lol i cant even get past act 2 end boss no gear is drops for me
I beat the campaign, it was indeed challenging, but if I ever got stuck I just farmed a zone for an hour or two and then steamrolled that wall, so it's not that bad just have to lock in
Yes, i dont understand why people are saying its hard when most of the time they are just underperforming or underlevel/geared
Well when you have no life you can just do that in which you suggested.
@americanshah5041 Grinding for an hour or two is not nolifeing... If you need constant stimulation, play D4

while the game does need changes, i think people need to calm down a bit , we are like 4 days into early access there is a long way to go
agreed. This is a good comment. Both sides have gotten out of hand tbh.
I think spells scale differently
If you get a +4 to level and a spell damage mod. I think you can go a very long way without changing as mod matter more on spell than weapon damage.
But I nvr play spell so what do I know
I'm 60 and still using a wand I found level 5 or so.
I still can’t find any legendary staff 💀
Martial weapons don't work like this, also as you level up the ranges get better on gear so I hope you're using alt when inspecting and if not at least making new gear from whites on the ground, ad long as they have a slot you can make them decently strong whatever lvl you're at
They don't want people speed running campaign like poe 1, they have always stated they wanted the trash mobs in campaign to mean something and not just be mindless props that you blast past on your way to end game, it should be rewarding making it through the campaign into maps
The reason why people are mad about not completing the campaign is because of fomo, the reason people want to be in end game first is so they can charge inflated prices for endgame drops before others get there as is the case in poe 1.
That just means the core gameplay, which will exist in the endgame loop, will suck as well.
game starts at endgame, even ggg made that comment. basing a game like POE of any form on the campaign is not consistent with the genre.
The game is a few days old yet people complain they didn't reach endgame yet.
The problem is not the game. The problem is the impatience of gamers.
Game looks great, yet quite hard (which is perfectly fine).
its not about reaching endgame, its about balance. its has a ways to go. Potential yes; but its not there yet.
My first Poe 1 campaign was around 10 hours
Now take around 5 hour max
So yea, I think subsequently you won't take that long. On campaign
Perfectly fine for you. If that's the case then market it to people like you.
No mention ever was said to anything going on as it is now. We all expected poe1
And got this mess of identity
It seems ggg is so worried about end game they are forgetting that we have to get thru the campaign first. Hope they instill the map buffs to the campaign next patch.
They probably just have different teams keeping watch of campaign experience and end game experience.
get good and try to enjoy leveling
Ppl need to learn if the campaign is hard you need to upgrade your gear
Yea I hope they keep it hard
The lack of the base res rings on vendor were rough.
The fix may just be as simple as "Give people better gear, so that they can A.) Kill things better, B.) Run faster, C.) Not die when they get swarmed."
But just saying "No" some edgelord teenager baby shit.
@@derpataur1162Looks to me like you are one of those edgelord teenager baby ragers from what you commented.

@@owenklijnsma fr thank god there’s still some people that share my perspective:))
it does not, it boils down to some classes are at an advantage to others right now. i.e. warrior is designed to tank dps which the honor system punishes.
No worries man. I spent 30 hours figuring that out. Front load damage. Gear def stats.

not mapping yet I'm assuming?
Good luck!!
Do so many people have problems clearing the campaign? Im playing a Monk full Melee and so far have been blazing trough....im now halfway trough act 2.
Yea. It's insane how unwilling people are to learn how to play.
its not that at all. gearing drops to progress are anemic and acts 1-3 dont match the progress of acts 4-6 so the progression balance is way off right now
@@JorgenPOE I mostly had all blue equipment in Act 1 with subpar stats... Only thing i invested it was in a good blue quarterstaff from the vendors. I've seen ppl 1-shotting bosses. That should not happen. :)
100 percent agreed
I was doing horribly till I got lucky with a unique boot that explodes corpses into poison, and I instantly changed my build from minions to fire witch (with Raging Skulls). Btw, fireball and multiple projectiles is gross. I now clear areas on easy mode. So, I do agree that not getting gear early with stifle a lot of build. I feel that melee builds suffer the most, because the first ascendency trial is sanctum, and it just wrecks melees.
Look at this, 3-4 days in and they're already addressing a lot if not most of some people's issues. What a company GGG is.
It's a start, there is a big lapse between act 4-6 and act 1-3 progression that doesn't make sense. mapping is fine, as and the bosses for the most. And the skills that are 'OP' now and carrying the git gawd players... they are gonna get balanced soon enough and opinions will start to change.
Great Video Jorgen
Concern I've had issues with is regarding the gear as you mentioned is that the gear that's been dropping is not even class specific
My first char I'm playing is a warrior didn't get my first rare til mid act 2 but the issue that I noise that I got more rares for a witch and mercenary char then for my class
So basically what I'm saying is that you get more rare gear and better for another character then you do for the one your playing hopefully they can somewhat make a change
It's almost sad that your playing one char to get gear for another
Cheers
Thank you.
I didn't realize that defense only in Armour.

So glad for the dodge roll change. I'm okay with getting trapped if I'm swarmed, but you have to give players some wiggle room, hopefully this is enough.
Don't let Reddit change the game. It's great.
No it's not, don't be stupid
@@drumcorpful It is great, needs some slight finetuning but it is great having a blast so far
Don't let TH-cam comments keep the game in the current state. It has issues.
Ranged is fine, but play melee and you'll know exactly what a large number of players are providing feedback over

Maybe Witcher experience is a reason i dont mind the loot at all like other people. Shopping, crafting is good enough.
I do really think that people mindsets around games matter a lot when it comes to why they dont like the game that much.
I played Witch and Monk. The bosses while playing on Monk are far harder to deal with.
Thank god for some currency buffs
Beggining of act 3 still havent dropped a single jewellers , alchemy or chaos orb
Hope they dont stop there
It's actually way more balaned than I expected it to be.
GGG needs to fix Chaos damage and make it viable against Bosses. I feel like my AOC Monk is useless against bosses.
Also need to better get chaos res lol I haven't found a single piece with chaos res lol.
Feel like campaign drops have been pretty good. And improved yesterday compared to before.
There was a patch at about 4pm from what I could see.

It’s definitely just a work in progress with a lot of potential.
its all balance right now. far from perfect and alot to be done but it will get there
I played as a summoner and I have to say that I don't like it.
At the moment only SRS is a functioning minion build unfortunately. Nothing else is playable.
@@JURITO1000 But thats not true? gas arrow archer + fire + debuffs is also very good
I don't know why no one's talked about this, but the way the passive skill tree, attribute system and classes and skill combos work now, is essentially fixing the classes to their thematic/intended builds. This isn't a problem now, because most builds haven't been explored yet; but it's kinda going in the opposite direction with the POE philosphy of your classes can be anything you build them to be. The simplest example, which I already notice during pre-launch theory crafting, is Gemling Legionaire seems great for an int/mana stacker spell build; but I have to take 10+ travel notes just to go the closest mana cluster or lightning damage cluster or spell damage cluster, previously in POE there wasn't this much excessive travel nodes, plus there are meaningful defense clusters that we can take first near the class starting location, now in POE 2 I couldn't see any possibility for me to build a Merc into a spell caster
all we can do is wait. because they did say the tree was not going to look anything at all like what it does currently on release
I have noticed this as well and I think am overall decrease of pure stat travel nodes is warranted. I'm sure they would be receptive to this.
So you disagree. That makes you wrong then, clearly since the Devs themselves are addressing LOOT drops.
Tool
I really hope they shorten some of the Act III areas. They felt like crazy long...
Crafting is currently unless. You can't roll for what you want just brick your gear.
11:07 well said. Great video.
cheers man
Respecs are way too expensive.
Gambling for gear really helps in Act 1
but very expensive when players dont have much gold
The shared loot in parties feels awful.
The campaign will need some adjustment tho because people not gonna do a 30h+ campaign every league
Yep. That's where my issues come from. It's great the first time... But the subsequent times... That's the issue.
AND.THEY.ARE.LISTENING! Rly good Patch and reaction on Feedback. Love GGG for that
no worries man. I like to assess fairly. I'm defs not a shill. the game needs good feedback to be the best it can be
Teleporting to checkpoint will it be part of the risks of PC freezing big issue ?
Rarity on items doesn't seem to be working that great either, got it on 4 items and still get mostly blue items.
Either it's a broken stat or they are just so low on the loot tables that it isnt really noticeable.
This notion of "just skill damage" is so fun to me. So many good nodes on the tree that certainly increase your survivability.
I don't know why they didn't fix the ascendant trails either . Trail 3 is impossible to do.
its just the start. There is ALOT of balance that this game needs to be good
I’m barely on the Mist King lol getting my ass handed to me so I tried my luck with the Executioner. No dice. I don’t give up easily though
When I did my ascendancy, I finished with a silver key and a gold key silver have me a relic and the gold key gave me 2 useless blue items..
Fun while it lasted, hype is totally dead for me, just make it a poe1 reskin.
it'll get better; its a beta
Yeah im level 71 warrior, the clear in maps is so slow, my basic attack does way more damage than the majority of skills. The animations for anything with decent aoe takes far too long comparatively to other ranged classes.
gearing is getting better but my main issue is im not tankier than a ranged class and im certainly not clearing as quick. So whats the point in playing melee right now?
and 3rd and 4th ascendancy is bugged and not granting points....
yeah, I switched to minions and just blast everything and bosses just melt. Melee has a lot of balance required right now
@@JorgenPOE the only decent speed clear on Warrior is Boneshatter but it still requires some setup.
This blows my mind. I’m a merc and I’m kind of bored how easy it is. I feel like they just need to mostly buff melee. I might genuinely quit haha
merc is currently the top pick because you're not forced to get up int he face of enemies and the skills scale better.
100 percent. but feedback is needed for them to know that. people sayings its perfect will only hurt the game in the long run
Definitely need more magic and rare gear in Act 1, also occasionally buff other skills instead of nerfing the new meta builds
Sounds like a dev is listening for once! I''m stuck on act 2 lol so hopefully this will help me out!
Which part are you stuck on?
@@efabiano82 Some gas ghost thing! I will just keep levelling up and I will eventually beat it :)
I said for weeks melee aka warrior is left in dust. DM build will also get nerfed
Are GGG playing the same game? There is NO loot in this game.
They are for sure smoking something cause game is trash for now
Ive been sitting around 10-20 all res and I've had no issues in the campaign. Most of my gear has been crafted and don't sleep on venders sometimes they have decent gear so check every level and eventually you get ahead of the curve. melee is all around very strong I hit 28 created a good wep and that power spike has taken me all the way to maps easy.
I'm glad mate, cheers!
100 percent agree. the game needs to respect the players time at the end of the day
Says the games too hard, also says don’t put points in defensives on passive skill tree, gotcha…
yep. thats exactly what I said and what most players are doing. POE 2 is front load DPS. As simple as that. TTK is gonna be a thing and that's not a good thing
Picked mercenary cuz I wanted to make a doomguy build, saw grenades and got even more excited, forgot about doomguy the second I saw poison and just knew it had to be good, saw gas grenades and went all in on poison, ended up making almost the optimal best merc build on accident 🗿
I only know this now cuz I looked up tips to improve my build and realized I already had one of the best builds in the process of being made minus like 3 perks I put into armor and evasion. Probably gonna refund them to go all in on dps, fuckin love this game
It took me 6 hrs to beat the first boss. 😮
Nice very good buffs
It seems like feast or famine, just like Souls and Elden.
On the one hand, you see players (even melee) that smash the content. Even after a bit of figuring out. They ultimately smash it and now they are in maps dumping time into their builds.
But on the other hand, there are a whole host of players asking for easier fights and dialed back monsters.
But the gitgud concept is a more rewarding route imo.
Drops and layout is another thing entirely.
Monster scaling: Everyone should play the same difficulty, and the difficulty should be the same as those who have proven the game can be conquered at the current monster tuning.
I honestly think better scaling in acts 1-3 to match acts 4-6 is really the best improvement they could make right now. I like the pace of act 4-6
There was more than enough bases and crafting currency to be geared in Act 1 before these changes. Expensive yes, but doable.
you shouldn't need to over level in the campaign when that is 10 percent or less of the game.
I fall asleep while walking/exploring.
i cant even get past act 2 becuse some passives dont seem to do anything atleast for Ranger and drops in campign sucks becuse i farm 5 hours still no gear
spec into all DPS and stack defense on your gear only. Right now you need to front load DPS which means; every point into hitting really hard.
Alot of non Poe 1 players are struggling indicating a flaw with the game mechanically right now
focusing on endgame when most players cant finish the campaign is a bit of a miss.
We have more rare drops for disenchanting and more regal orbs. Seems enough for me besides some under,- and overperforming skills.
Restart. Overtuned
The game has been "okay" thus far for me, just finished act 3. But holy hell the chaos trial is literally impossible for me/my character.
yeah, i did it 25 levels higher, there are alot of balance issues right now which was to be expected.
It literally says beta on console, why does everyone keep trying to spin around the fact that it still is a beta at the end of the day
yep, 100 percent. its a beta, alot is gonna change.
They bricked so many peoples builds with this hotfix
Yeah. Mine is still fine, I'm now using skeleton archers and smashing the game
@@JorgenPOE I feel like this was over nerfed. Why not just remove the amulet interaction with srs?
Oh hey… good stuff there
I hope they make it so the rare loot is for our class now. Feels like I get "rare" drops for every class but my own.
No this isn't the way
This will never happen. One, it doesn’t make sense because there are no “class gear”. This aint wow.
terrible idea that railroads classes into specific builds.
It's not early access. That's like saying fortnite is early access.
This game is built off poe1. It's not new. Lots have changed but this is what? 10 years in the making?
Diablo 4 for all it was and is broken dropped loot and was fun and empowering
yeah, the progression arc is whack right now for acts 1-3. 4-6 are fine i found.
