Fuecoco honestly had the best glow up to its final evolution. It's midform is the worst out of the 3 imo, but its final is the best for feeling the most like a pokemon and a cool one at that.

Honestly the starters were extremely generic, The middle evolutions were OK besides the fire one and those final evolutions were incredibly disappointing. But I’m not surprised because I did not have any High Hopes from the start
I like how Fuecoco’s final evolution comes with a little fire bird friend. Also, according to the Pokédex entry, the final evolution also sings that soothes the soul. I knew I wanted Fuecoco the moment I saw him in the game announcement. This just solidifies my decision. 😊😊

I think I'm going to pick Fuecoco because while I dislike the middle evolution I think that the final evolution is the best out of all three in my opinion.
Floragato is the best design IMO, but Skeledirge is the best final evolution. Shame that Mewscarada was a downgrade from its middle evolution. And Quaxly’s evolutions are just odd. I might give Quaquaval a chance though.

I'd honestly take Feraligatr and Krookodile over this any day, despite them being bipedal. Skeledirge had big potential but was just terribly executed because of Nintendos stupid trend of giving almost every pokemon some theme, that ruins the design.
I was really disappointed with sprigatito final form, but recently it started to kinda grow on me I really like the magician aspects with the mask on and the move set actions it does while attacking.

Only just realised that Crocalor has a nest with an egg on its head and when it evolves into Skeledirge the egg hatches into a little bird that sits on its face 😅 I thought Crocalor had a Sombrero 😂😂😂

For those that haven't noticed. The starters are also representative of 3 different countries. Yes, I know the game is based off the iberian peninsula, but the starters themselves represent Mexico, Spain, and Brazil

Meowscarada and Quaquaval are too similar in design. Love them or hate them, each starter in every previous gen has offered some aesthetic variety (and I know we had 3 fire/fighting starters in a row, but I'm talking about within the gens themselves). For fans who put a great level of importance on how a Pokémon looks (myself included) then straight out of the gate you're limiting your selection here. If you like Meowscarada, you'll probably like Quaquaval, but if not, your only real option in the Fuecoco line.

Not quite, they're actually based on Spanish/Latin American/Brazilian celebrations. You've got a masquerade (which is a French word), Día de los Muertos (the day of the dead), and Carnaval.
@@jacksonbowns1087 go check the pokedex entries. The names are in fact referencing de los Muertos. However its literally a magician, singer, and dancer (all stage performers). Every generation starters have different real life themes. X and y themes were RPG characters. (Mage, tank, rouge) for example. Gen 4 was basied of Chinese mythology world turtle myth for tortera, empoleon is poseidon, and infernape os the monkey king.
I bet that they would look better if not for this dumb theme trend. 2nd stages still looked fine because they didn't have any themes going on with them (well, maybe besides Fuecocos evolution).
@@eragons1894 I disagree. Try making 26 starter lines without using a certain theme and see if any of them look alike. We have come to a point in time where making no "specific theme" is going to make them unoriginal. Especially with over 1,000 Pokémon, you can't just make a grass cat, just a grass cat... you gotta add something to make it stand out from other cats

One thing I don't understand is why people got so salty over Sprigatito going from quadraped to bipedal when a LOT of other starters do it, too. Mudkip into Swampert, Tepig into Emboar, Fennekin into Delphox, Litten into Incineroar, too!
Floragato is top tier and quaxlys line is fire it’s final evo being water fighting will be a beast in the anime fuecoco final evo is fire and and meowscrada should have changed design based on gender but I think he’s sweet too I think they’ll grow on everyone depending on how the anime uses them but I can definitely see ash catching all 3
Skeliderge isn't as bad as they are saying it is,it's definitely my favorite and the shiny is gonna be lit!!! The other two are just more rule34 material IG, it feels like most of the effort went into designing their first forms so they would be very cute and sell well but they just didn't know where to go after they made them so cute and cuddly so they decided to make one a big scary fire lizard and the other two into anthropomorphic furries. It also doesn't help that they're being extremely experimental with brand new game mechanics and new non-starter Pokemon and it probably just stretched them a little thin in all honesty. GIVE US DIFFERENT TYPES AS STARTERS ALREADY!

I like to imagine its akin to a komodo dragon. Out of all starters, it looks like my placement of them haven't changed. Fire, Grass, then Water. With exception to Mudkip and Pipplio's final evolutions, majority of the water starters have been 'mediocre' just like their subpar stats. The best has always been Grass and Fire, alternating b/w phys and sp atk every generation. Although they suddenly made grass moves go from sp to phy atk in later gens. Prob cuz they were kicking butt cuz most mons didn't have high sp def.
Meowcarada was my favourite she looks the most appealing for me. because its stays cute and still more on the animal side. Skeledirge is cool but a little too different from fuecoco. but Quaquaval.... QUAXLY WAS MY FAVOURITE😭😭😭 I thought he was gonna be like the cool sailor man. but a samba dancer, its not even a peacock.
I said it when I first saw the starters in their base form and I'll now say it again now that I've seen all their forms... THEY LOOK MORE LIKE DIGIMON THAN POKÉMON😂
I usually pick a fire type as my starter but this time I'm going to break tradition and go with the grass type and the water type is a close second choice and what ever it's final evolution is but definitely going with the grass type on this one.

Meowscarada and Quaquaval are too similar in design. Love them or hate them, each starter in every previous gen has offered some aesthetic variety (and I know we had 3 fire/fighting starters in a row, but I'm talking about within the gens themselves).
For fans who put a great level of importance on how a Pokémon looks (myself included) then straight out of the gate you're limiting your selection here.
If you like Meowscarada, you'll probably like Quaquaval, but if not, your only real option in the Fuecoco line.
Not really. I still think that Meowscarada has bearable design but Quaquaval just looks gross and its unsettling animations make it look even worse.

Not quite, they're actually based on Spanish/Latin American/Brazilian celebrations. You've got a masquerade (which is a French word), Día de los Muertos (the day of the dead), and Carnaval.

Every generation starters have different real life themes. X and y themes were RPG characters. (Mage, tank, rouge) for example. Gen 4 was basied of Chinese mythology world turtle myth for tortera, empoleon is poseidon, and infernape os the monkey king.
I bet that they would look better if not for this dumb theme trend.
2nd stages still looked fine because they didn't have any themes going on with them (well, maybe besides Fuecocos evolution).

We have come to a point in time where making no "specific theme" is going to make them unoriginal. Especially with over 1,000 Pokémon, you can't just make a grass cat, just a grass cat... you gotta add something to make it stand out from other cats

I LOVE THEM ALL! Also, I don’t even care Sprigatito’s evolutions are on two legs. I didn’t care from the start if it was bipedal or not. What mattered to me is that they pulled off the design and they totally did! I’m still sticking with Sprigatito.

Well now.... From all the fan made designs, the possibility of all the evos they could have, all pretty damn disappointing. I literally imagined Quaxly to evolve into something more of a Mariner style... nope totally opposite. Many hoped that Sprigatito would be on all 4 cause why not? it's the only starter of the 3 to be on 4s... right? EHHH WRONG! Just like Fire fox... Make them stand, however for fuecoco, i never imagined his second evo to have a weird sombrero type thing on his head but his last evo is the closed to all the fan made designs. Glad my choice was him.

One thing I don't understand is why people got so salty over Sprigatito going from quadraped to bipedal when a LOT of other starters do it, too. Mudkip into Swampert, Tepig into Emboar, Fennekin into Delphox, Litten into Incineroar, too!

The other two are just more rule34 material IG, it feels like most of the effort went into designing their first forms so they would be very cute and sell well but they just didn't know where to go after they made them so cute and cuddly so they decided to make one a big scary fire lizard and the other two into anthropomorphic furries.
It also doesn't help that they're being extremely experimental with brand new game mechanics and new non-starter Pokemon and it probably just stretched them a little thin in all honesty.

I like to imagine its akin to a komodo dragon. Out of all starters, it looks like my placement of them haven't changed. Fire, Grass, then Water. With exception to Mudkip and Pipplio's final evolutions, majority of the water starters have been 'mediocre' just like their subpar stats. The best has always been Grass and Fire, alternating b/w phys and sp atk every generation. Although they suddenly made grass moves go from sp to phy atk in later gens. Prob cuz they were kicking butt cuz most mons didn't have high sp def.
we also have two monkey, turtle, lizard, and cat starters so…?

I usually pick a fire type as my starter but this time I'm going to break tradition and go with the grass type and the water type is a close second choice and what ever it's final evolution is but definitely going with the grass type on this one.
