    I kept trying your ideas until I had a pretty good recipe. I worked on it until I found the right measurementsd because I wanted consistancy when I made the foil glue. My recipe : 1 tsp. Toner Powder, 1 1/2 tsp. Rubbing alcohol and
    1 Tbsp. Scotch Quick-dry Adhesive (lilquid) I made and stored the mixture in an old pill bottle like yours then used an old embossing ink pad to add the mixture for stamping. I also found that straight PH Neutral PVA glue for bookbinding and paper projects poured onto an old embossing glue pad works just as good. (i bought the PVA glue from Amazon for about $7.00 for 8 ounce bottle. I found the best results came from running my images through the MINC on setting #4, 2 times. Happy foiling. i hope this helps others get great results. Can't wait until Anna Griffen comes out with a foil ink pad; no more mixing. :-)

      The Ginger Owl should be fine with a brush. Just clean your brush right away after use.

      Are you saying that when you used the bookbinding glue, you did NOT add toner? Thank you.

    Love your videos. They are very informative. I actually visited a toner producing factory for a tour. I think the toner did not blend with the water because it is coated in plastic. To clear things up, toner is simply carbon and iron oxide blended/coated in polymer(plastic). It is not toxic to the skin and should be washed off with cool water(warm or hot can soften the polymer). It can cause trouble if breathed in LARGE quantities. Asthma and bronchitis was talked about. But, only if inhaled very regularly or in LARGE quantities. I would not worry about it while crafting. Common sense should prevail when using any crafting supply. Also, toner is electrostaticly charged, so do not vacuum if spilled...wipe up with a moist cloth. Otherwise you will ruin your vacuum. I love your work, and am thankful for your videos. I just wanted to comment because there seems to be a question about what toner actually is and if it is safe. I am no expert, but I am informed. I will use the toner powder, and like with any other material that is made of a fine "dust" I will be careful not to breathe it in. Easy solution! Keep the awesome videos coming! And I hope this info helps.

      JMertens Great information! I hope everyone reads this. Wow, and you had a tour - that's great. I love being informed as well and you really broke it down. Yes, toner has unique qualities so I can see whytoner tours exist. I never worked with anything like this. Please come back. Blessings...

    I thought I would never find this! My grandgirl was playing with my foiling things yesterday, and I got to thinking about making a toner inkpad for stamping. I was pretty sure that I remembered alcohol, but had forgotten about the glue. You are now bookmarked! And I feel a serious playdate coming on😉

    Hey, black toner is carcinogenic, you really should be wearing gloves and a mask, and you'll probably get itchy after messing with this stuff, I know I am... I'm starting to make ink and paint with toner powder aswell, very useful, Thanks.

    Hi Anna, can you use "used" toner for this - ie the toner that goes into the disposal unit of a photocopier?

  • @charsbabushka
    @charsbabushka 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thank you. The original video that I had watched, I cannot find again. This person said that she had done a lot of research and that the toner would is not harmful. I don't know. I did not do the research but I would still be very carefull, just in case. I sure wish I could find that video again. any way. Thank you for your video. I had bought my toner on ebay and since I can't find the video, I figured it was a waste of money. I am glad that I still have it. I will definately give this a try. Now, I have a tip for you. I bought some of the fuseable web at Joann's. The kind used in sewing. I used one of my dies and cut it out of this webbing. Put it through my laminator and it turned out beautiful.

    • @biblescraps
      @biblescraps  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Joyce B That's interesting. I will try that. I have a lot of stabilizers and i think i have some fusible webbing too. So you die cut the fusible webbing, then send the die cut piece through the laminator?

    • @charsbabushka
      @charsbabushka 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      biblescraps Yes mam. I just place the die cut piece on the card where I want it to be, cover it with the foil, put it in the carrier sheet and send it through. I hope this will work for you. I use this instead of buying the transfer sheets that Deco Foil sells.

    • @biblescraps

      I think I'm missing a step. If you don't mind can you provide me the steps again. Blessings....

    • @charsbabushka
      @charsbabushka 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      biblescraps I first take the die that I want to foil, and cut out the webbing with it. Leave the protective paper on it at this time. You will end up with a very thin piece of webbin cut out in the shape that you want. Take the protective cover off and lay the webbing where you want the foiled immage to go on your card. Place the foil over it and put it into the carrier sheet. then run it through your machine. I hope this helps.
