LOL I wasn't expecting this my I fell asleep with my phone in my hand just to accidentally hit the button you just happen to be on my favorite movie director LOL
howie your the epidemy of a lawn jockey
Man I had no idea a lot of people hated this movie. I always thought it was really cool.
Cut out the redneck scenes, cut out the stupid teenage dialogue and cut out myers mom being a stripper for no damn reason and in my eyes it can be passable. The ending is strong enough to hold the rest of it up, bc its pretty damn boring outside the last twenty mins if u ask me. Just a whole lot of nothin and slow build to what we already know is coming. So whats the point? it doesnt build tension when we already know michael is gonna escape, when we already know hes finna snap. It just doesnt do much for the story wasting the first hour on the rednecks and the asylum.
He has a very brutal vision of filmmaking & it isn’t for everyone but I respect him for creating his own style
His "style" is putting his wife in every single movie and filling it with nothing but trailer trash stereotypical shit.
I agree! I really liked his Halloween.. the sequel was awful Imo but he might’ve been really done by then
It isn't that his vision is brutal as much as it is just poorly realized. All of his movies are poorly written, edited, acted and shot. One thing he does that I can't stand is the constant shaky cam close ups during his action setpieces that make everything hard to see what's happening.
@@marciabeasley8506 I don’t think he even wanted to do the sequel, judging by what he’s saying here, so now it makes sense why the sequel sucked.
@@TheSuperSaiyan4Gamer Yea I never heard him speak about it before. I love all his movies too so I was confused af as to why the second one was so terrible Imo..
I love how Rob portrays their voices like the trash rats that they are.
Saw this guy last year with Manson in concert and he was Awesome! Manson sucked, dude was on something or just didn’t care but Rob did everything he could to make the show work. Between songs he was out talking to the crowd, taking pics, signing autographs. Brought all his energy into every song and I’m glad I got to see him once in my life cause he really does have a passion for his work and it shows.
Rob's concerts are always fuckin awesome
@@tylerwatts3347Yes. Because he gives a shit.
Manson can be hit or miss, I’ve seen him many times. If he is into it it’s a great show unfortunately sometimes it’s apparent that he doesn’t want to be there. I’ve also seen Zombie a bunch of times and every single show was fantastic. He always gives 100%.
I get the sense that happened a lot... I was supposed to see them both a couple years ago and Manson just no-showed. Rob put on a very good show though.
Rob needs to learn breath control. It’s unacceptable to only sing every other word but he’s been doing it for decades.
I didn't realize so many people hated his version. I actually liked it a lot.
Yesss!!!
It wasn't bad at all. His Halloween was very different, and it had that signature "Zombie" style of filth and sleaze, but when things kicked off proper, it was actually a decent watch.
I usually don’t like remakes, however, I REALLY really love what he did with this remake. I really enjoy watching it. It holds my attention throughout.
Yeah same I always really liked his first one
I liked both of them to.
Well, Rob needs an editor and he REALLY needs a writer. He's a very stylish guy and a very good director, he just needs someone to lend him a hand with the stories.
@FortuneFinders he writes dialog like he's writing a porno. He definitely could use a scriptwriter. You can be a director and still write concepts for your plot and have a scriptwriter write out your dialog, if he could just set that aside his movies would be by and large so much better.
Writer most definitely. He should have story ideas to give a writer to better flesh it out. He is a competent director though.
*Hold his hand with stories
More like.
This is completely accurate. He has no idea how to write, and for some reason feels that making every character use a disproportionate amount of profanity somehow GIVES them character.
IT DOESN’T.
It just sounds infantile and has no impact at all.
Also, (like nobody knew this was coming) he needs to stop casting his untalented wife in everything he does.
I don’t know whether she withholds oral gratification unless she’s cast, but either way she does not need to be ever seen on screen again in anything.
I love robs movies
Rob's version is brutal and violent loved it.
Same!
I agree! The sequel.. I did not like but the first.. damn! That first kill in the woods.. man damnnn
It’s an awesome film. Definitely not for the weak of heart.
@@sugaashow The first one was absolutely genius! The second one was just… I keep thinking about the end when the mother and Michael are holding Laurie there and I just shake my hard and say WHY?!!
I wish he would’ve come up with something different
Movie was horrible stop it
I always felt that Robs version of Micheal Myers was scarier than any other Halloween I’ve seen just brutal,Bloody, a straight savage
Nah. What made MM scary was that he had a loving family and a normal life but still became completely evil, whereas most serial killers have extremely ducked up early lives. RZ just took the character, gave him a trailer trash hillbilly upbringing, and then made him into a generic, hulking killer.
@@carloszestyboy2901Michael meyers was cursed with Druidic witchcraft to come back every Halloween he wasn’t just some suburban kid turned bad and is bulletproof out of nowhere
Yeah a boring just for the shock killer
I guess for teens, it’s good
yup. Robs Michael was straight up savage. The kills were different...
@@carloszestyboy2901 we got barely nothing on MM background in the original Halloween. He kills his sister and then is sent to an institution. We don't know by that movie that he had a loving family.
He hated making it almost as much as I hated watching it.

All his movies, (with the exception of The Devil's Rejects), we're all utter crap.
@@erikasmith8894 I'm not even kidding.....I like "The Munsters". I know it wasn't good and I'd never try to say it was but for some reason I got a kick out of it. But what you said was pretty on point.
Yes, but everyone likes destroying great movies with crappy remakes 😅
It's a Masterpiece compared to😅 his Munsters Movie.
Always thought Rob should’ve tackled Texas Chainsaw Massacre. He’s the perfect choice.
Literally the one horror franchise that Rob couldn't mess up with his sick and twisted Southern fried shit 😊
He did , it's called house of 1000 corpses 👍
@@Woke_Fascismfr. Otis even cuts off ole dudes face and torso and wears it.

he's actually a giant prick to people that work around him lol
He's an absolute asshole. Worked with him multiple times. Dudes insufferable.
So he sucks lol
just please don't work on any more of my Halloween movies...
His music is fantastic
I love his Halloween movies. They're super not for everyone and that's okay. Most of his fans are pretty aware of his shortcomings as a filmmaker. We like style just as much (and sometimes way more) than substance. The trashy aesthetic just works for me. One-note writing and all.
it was so terrible. just like his munsters reboot.
but i still like him as a person and musician.
Outside house of 1000 corpses this dude has never made a movie where i go "man i really enjoyed that and want more of his work" 98% of his movies end and I go "really? thats it? thats how youre gonna end this? wtf man" 😂
@@Mclovinit8171 You didn’t like Devil’s Rejects?!
Then it's not for you. I absolutely love his Halloween remake and tout it as one of the best in the franchise.@@whodatninja439
@@maselm It was pretty decent too. I will lump that one in with house, everything else hes made is kinda meh. He just idk, Im just as someone who grew up in the south not a fan of the fact this dude has a weird obsession with gross over the top redneck characters. Its cvery one note and predictable, I could lit make a checklist of all the shit needed to make it a rob zombie movie. 1. Gross over exaggerated redneck characters. 2. No likable females to speak of. 3. An overuse of darkness, grunge or metal music, and gore. 4. Everyone in society but our main character is usually an unlikable piece of shit. 5. Nobody really gets developed. Thats the one thing I can praise the first halloween he did for, michael had an identity and a character and he was actually developed.
Zombie’s Halloween 2 (director’s cut) is a classic. I love it
“You only have so much energy in your body and you waste most of it dealing with chaos and very little of it making a good movie.”
This is a great descriptor of the obstacles you face trying to do the things you want to or love doing but need to reconcile if the effort you put in is worth it. The chaos can be the people/friends/family/coworkers/distractions are around you that you need to cutout to be successful at what you want.
Yes truly a great statement to the reality of making art in this stupid antiverse
I’m probably the only one who’s into his movie by the looks of things. Halloween (by rob zombie) is my favourite Halloween. There’s a collection of things I’d maybe change, but in terms of darkness; mood, and atmosphere.. I was really drawn into his world he created for it. I loved those movies. Mainly the first!
I liked the first one but thought the second was pretty much garbage. Loved, Devil's Rejects and House of a 1000 corpses though
The first one is good until like an hour in when it decides to just become an almost shot for shot remake of the original. He's got a unique style though, you gotta the respect the guy for becoming a legit original filmmaker when he probably could've just coasted on the rock music.
I love his movies. They are so throwback to me. Reminds of the films I watched as a kid.
I love them
@@iinemesisii8964 love those movies too! :)
i loved this movie🥺 very nostalgic and reminds me of a very special person bc that person used to be my best friend in high school (i was 15 in 2007) and now “Love Hurts” reminds me of us, and all the time we spent together and how our friendship developed/evolved. 🥺🖤
You need to go outside more
Gay
After The Munsters, he needs a really good horror movie.
If Rob had a filter in between him and the final product, he’d probably make some pretty great shit
he'd also have to stop casting his talenteless wife in EVERY MOVIE
100%
I actually enjoyed his version of Micheal. Brutal, intense bloody.
I'd love to see a Silver Bullet remake by Rob 👍
Adult Michael was brutal, Kid Michael wasn't needed
@@Blasko86YeeeeOoo.
Fam...that right there.
@marvingonzalez8586 Getting the back story with him as a kid was one of the things I loved the most about it. Lol 🤷♂️
@@BlinkptxThe backstory takes away the mystique of the character for me. It took him from this potentially-supernatural entity that is the embodiment of evil and turned him into a hick with mommy and daddy issues. If I wanted to see a hick with mommy issues I'd go visit my Uncle Joe.
I think his vision for the Halloween franchise was great. It was the beginning of the non supernatural Michael movies, but i love how he still used him brutally. Both his movies were great, but misunderstood to some or most i should say. I loved how they brought out his entire origins story then killing his family without remorse. It's like he just let's their victims drag out to die or brutally stabs them to death slaughtering them all. That's what i love about Rob Zombie's version. He shouldn't be upset at all about making them. They're just different. It's like Friday the 13th 2009.
It was still supernatural. There is a quote in the beginning of the film that hints that myers is possessed by a demon.
i think left a room for interpretation more than just saying it was a demon@@sugaashow
Could never match the pain of watching it for the first time, how carpenter copes knowing his film is tied to that is beyond me
Halloween kills and ends were worse
Halloween Kills was awesome.
I love Rob Zombie but he's indeed a very self indulgent story teller. He uses the characters in his movies as props for playing out his own perverse fantasies, but none of it ever congeals into anything solid. It's always very choppy and disjointed feeling.
I loved his Halloween, but nothing will ever beat the OG JC.
Robs Halloween did bring us the best intro to a movie ever - ‘my name is Joe Grizzly bish’
The Devil's Rejects and its soundtrack is pure gold!
My honest opinion the first remake was great to me I was about 7-8 first saw it was my first horror I I was just to curious about it plus the mask looked so awesome to this day I still love it
In all the behind the scenes footage I’ve seen Zombie seems to have a “yeah, let’s get this over with” attitude on the sets of all the movies he’s made. Really shows in the finished products.
If he had a writer he could make a masterpiece .
No lol
I think he would be good as someone else’s art director.
He’s bad at directing and writing - but he does have an eye for sets and lighting.
Completely agree I think he has a lot of talent as a director but the scripts have always been the weak point
@@josephmayfield945 what the hell happened with Munsters then, it looked like someone threw up over the screen

Funny. I had a miserable experience watching his Halloween. The worlds align!
YOU SHOULD HAVE DID THE 3RD INSTALMENT!!! I LOVED YOUR HALLOWEEN MOVIES
Remember seeing it in 07 at 6 years old best brutal rob zombie favorite Halloween by far
Rob Zombie NEEDS a good editor. He just does. He's a mad genius who can't seem to focus his creativity. He needs that right-hand man (or woman) who is not afraid to tell him to stop huffing his own farts. And from what I've seen, he doesn't really have that.
I agree I don’t like his Halloween movies but they have some sorta decent ideas
Basically he needs someone who will make his movie for him.
Thank you for being inclusive to women lol
@@sweepingdenialNo. He just needs someone to reign him in. Why is that so difficult to understand?
No editor can save his schlock when it’s terribly written in the first place. You can polish a turd but it’s still a piece of shit
Rob Zombie is really good at 3 things-
1. Creating that trashy, trailer park aesthetic
2. Adding brutality & gore
3. Conveying dread & terror
His movies might be lacking in overall script, but he makes up for it with casting, visuals, sound design, & camera work. 💯

It's kind of funny how all this comes out after:
1) The Weinsteins fall from grace
2) Zombie's career as a mainstream filmmaker is basically over.
I get what you’re saying, it is reasonable to assume that this is being exaggerated because RZ is less popular now and the Weinsteins can’t defend themselves, so he’s just talking to talk. My perspective is that Rob just feels like enough time has passed and that Bob & Harvey don’t have any real clout anymore to harm him for telling everyone what it was really like to work for them.
@@ethanadamrose580believe it or not but he has some said stuff about them before the scandals ever happened when it came to them meddling during the Halloween films
The first one he did the best one imo I like how in depth he went into the up bringing of Mike
Rob made HIS version of Halloween, although it’s certainly not my favorite I still understand that he did what he could with what he had and I’m glad he was able to get out when he was unhappy and it suck’s that he had to deal with all of that. He did his thing and it was still pretty fun to watch
The last 20 minutes of this Halloween were good. The first 20 minutes of Halloween 2 were good. That’s about the best thing I can say about them.
Nailed it. 👍 👌
Hope you have the same energy for the new trilogy, that shxt was ass
The last 20 min was a straight copy of the classic
@@fpa5001 Agreed and poorly. The first twenty might be the most annoying 20 mins in cinema history. Just constant yelling and over the top BS to justify why he's a bratty killer. First one didn't have to do any of that and you got it. Rob could learn a little SUBTELY once in a while.
@@Kasigi03 the whole reason Myers is scary is because we don’t know why. Making him a cookie cutter serial killer from a white trash broken home was a terrible idea. I love his Halloween movies. Mainly the first. The second one was cool too!
The 1st Halloween was awesome the moment it became Halloween and the 2nd film was essentially a Director making a grudge art film with an established product.
To be fair to him, Halloween 2018 was marketed as this deep exploration of survivor trauma that was invented by Jamie Lee and David Gordon Green, but his entire interpretation of Laurie in Halloween 2 was exactly that, so he doesn’t really get the credit for exploring certain themes because the big anniversary movie with the returning star did it and acted like it was the first time lol
I assume you mean the FIRST Halloween from the 70’s??
Not as a remake, but I liked the grimey modernized adult version of Michael.
It was brutal and in your face, but had a lot of stuff that didnt necessarily need to happen.
The origin of Michael being half the flick and the dialogue being spotty made for a bit of mess...
But even then, loved the overt violence and the aura of smut in the movie.

Harvey was known for letting a filmmaker make the movie they wanted, then would step in after it was done and re-edit the film to his taste. That's why he was known as 'Harvey Scissorhands'. Billy Bob Thornton never directed again after working for Miramax.
