Happy new year matt🙌🏻 im currently starting my journey on trading and trying to understand what the market mostly does so i wanted to ask if you found a reason for certain price movements, so the moves back to the „lines“ or areas.
I’ve been experimenting with some AI tools for market research, planning etc. I initially discounted its significance for discretionary traders but it’s been a real eye opener. Will continue to research and experiment and share my findings.
Globex opens at 6pm ET Sunday night. I consider the day session from 9:30-4. The TradingView daily charts have a 4pm close, but the 24hr charts still have a 4:15 close at settlement time. I prefer using the 24 hour charts to see the gaps. The closing price is fixed at settlement time though isn’t exactly the same as the calculated settlement price, rather it’s the close of the 4:14 candle. Close enough for me.
Welcome back Matt, can you share how you manage funding/withdrawing AMP futures from Canada? I'm also from Canada and looking to start trading, but having struggles to find best options to transfer & exchange currencies (USD/CAD)
Thank you! I make a monthly(ish) withdrawal via wire transfer. You do it online but have to pay a fee on both ends. They hold it in CAD though in a CAD account in a Chicago bank, and adjust your internal USD balance monthly for the exchange rate. Withdrawals are sent CAD, and you can deposit in CAD as well via wire. It’s pretty simple, but costs around $80 CAD to make a withdrawal between broker and bank fees, depending on your home bank. As long as a withdrawal request is submitted in the morning you’ll get it the same day.
