Correction, Doughie isn't an original character. She's one of the UnBread Twins from the Orange Oasis, an optional area of Omori that you can completely miss without knowing it exists. She was also a boss with her brother
3:37 the reason why Sunny's appearence is like that in chapter 1 is because after the good ending Sunny has defeated Omori, and now that his evil alter ego is completely destroyed he appears as his true self in the dream world, and not as Omori.

Hmm... yeah, as interesting as that would be, I don't think being an RPG form with battles would fit though, that's for what we got in the present instead. :p And their lives before the incident would definitely be peaceful... Heck, even poor Basil secretly being unstable and seeing how his brain works would be both horrifying yet interesting to see. :O As for Kel being the seemingly normal one though... Well, it would still be nice to see him too I suppose. :p
i would also like a little spin off on after the one ending where sunny goes “i have to tell you something”-hopefully (which we all expect) sunny and maybe basil speak out on what actually happens. maybe their could be 2 outcomes with the spin off…they all turn their backs on sunny and basil for what they had done and truth goes to the world on the acts of mari death or surprisingly they act calm and say thanks to speaking out on the truth

0:36 This, so much. I don't want an official sequel at all, that would ruin the magic of Omori's ending. The ambiguous reaction to the truth and yet the hope and trust you put in the characters that they forgave Sunny, knowing that even know we don't have any idea where Sunny's life is going to go after moving, at least the future looks brighter. But at the same time, I'm all for fan-made content that tries to find its own ways to answer those questions. It's not canon, but it's cool to see how good interpretations can get.
100% agreed. When Mari talks to you , one of her important lines is "You have to have faith that they'll forgive you." It's a piece of advice given not just to Sunny, but to the player too. We have no idea what will happen to Sunny and Basil after Sunny tells them, but we have to have faith that, as Basil says, "everything is going to be okay."
I don't want a second omori game, i want a serie. Think about it, if they make another omori, has a big chance to not be in our expectations. With a serie following the end of the game we can already see a masterpiece continue
just finished this game and would call it one of my favorite games of all time, now i feel lost and this videos title is basically my situation right now
I finished the story yesterday, and I'm not able to say goodbye to the gang. I started recommending my friends to play omori just for seeing them again :(. What a masterpiece. Also, I think that an Omori with new characters and mental topics would be interesting!
Omori quickly became my favorite game. It makes me feel horrible about life when I think about it too much but that's why I love it. It causes emotion and pain in me which for some reason is fun. I can't tell you how many times I've cried listening to the soundtrack
Really appreciate you watching it! You're also welcome to join my server to get notified when the next Reverie related video goes up :) discord.gg/HBTyPM8
I got introduced to Omori cause my ex said i look and act like basil and hes sunny and i was like "whats a basil and whats a sunny" so i looked up a gameplay on youtube and boom, thats how ik of it but now after looking more into its story, the more i realize i relate to the mental disorders or struggles that the game portraits.
wouldn't be it so sad, if not literally depressing if OMOCAT or a Russian/Chinese company sent the Reveerie team a cease and desist note because of copyright infrigment?
That's what happened to the spanish translation sadly, but only because some of the members managed to make it work in a pirated version and the whole thing vanished (i think), it's probably still out there somewhere but i never felt like searching for it again
Unfortunately the pain of knowing that the creepy, mentally off baby of the group was covering up the murder of the beloved big sister of the group and that he and Basil let them believe she chose to end her life... its not going to be pretty. They might forgive them... in time.
i just finished it and now im hella mad that there isnt something after the good ending and the secret ending cutscene i hate it i want a good ending i want to know how they all reacted after sunny confesses now im depressed and its stuck in my head how bad this clifhanger made me feel
What about a sequel almost that goes into the characters that move into Sunny’s old house and they discover what happened through their perspective and we see the after math of the whole “stair” incident. It would give a good closing to the series. Maybe even include sunny in a way because hero did mention that the whole gang would visit every once in a while.
In reality, when looking at OMORI's REVERIE mod, i get the feeling of it lacking something. Unlike in the original game, where you literally help out 16 different people, mend your old friend group back together and allow Sunny and Basil to finally let go of their guilt, trauma and depression in the nostalgia and past memories of Faraway Town, once Sunny finally moves into the big city, things aren't the same anymore. Let me just put it shortly, It's Like That. This could be a typical American story where Sunny graduates, has a life and so on, but what about instead adding something to make it feel much more interesting? I have a lot for him. His ordeals are only the beginning. He needs all the help i can get him in the world. Wish Sunny the best of luck.
I can't wait to see what the team's planning with future real world chapters. There's a event at the end of Chapter 3 that I won't spoil, but it seems like it might be important.
You know, you could arguably say that about any given deep and dramatic story that gives your life meaning, though Omori is a pretty big one. :p I remember reading a comment about someone saying that for Elfen Lied though and that felt like the last greatest impactful thing in their life... what other good story could top that? :p Sigh... it's sad that for someone like me, fiction can sometimes feel more like reality than reality feels like reality... When you're lonely, bored, and depressed, and people in your life just come and go, or don't think of you much or have anything in common with you, or maybe even abuse you on some level... and could never be anything like the friends in this game that may stick with you forever if they could... (Slice of Life animes too like Non Non Biyori or Yurcamp too)... Sigh... yeah... I definitely wish reality could reflect fiction like this more so as playing this wouldn't just be a form of escapism. :p Just like Sunny/Omori themselves...
oh that is simple: Play jimmy and the pulsating mass it came out a few years before and has a similar vibe. That is what is next. Shares the same inspirations earthbound and yume nikki(what rpg maker game doesn't nowadays tho)
There’s an animatic series called Sayonara that I think is pretty good at showing an interpretation of what happens after the ending, it does (spoiler alert?) get a little bit unrealistic after a while but it’s still a worthwhile watch.
Me, trying to get my brother to try the game, he clicks on the nice looking thumbnail with a "oh, ok". Then he notices the "PEGI 18 Extreme violence" and goes "AYO WTF WHAT DO YOU MEAN!?" 🤣
One reason I fucking hated to finish omori, was because I know its a one of a kind game, a hidden gem, I know there won't be any other games in the same style or will make me feel the same feeling
A really good recommendation I'd suggest after omori's is Yume Nikki, I never heard of it until I played the game and after watching playthroughs of yume nikki I can see how it was inspired by it
You know, I got some ideas for how the Dream World could work all of a sudden after the events of Omori now. :p Sigh... hopefully it won't be too weird or boring... Maybe the dream world can be updated with a modern/futuristic twist with real world elements and be more like Animal Crossing in a way where it's more realistic but also in a idealistic, wishful kind of way, but not quite as childish and fantastical type of escapism it used to be. :p The space area could simply be an observatory and/or space station, the pyrefly forest/sweetheart's castle can simply be like some kind of halloween or culture festival attraction or something, the sea area could be more of a beach with some job-like area where Hero works at, and so on, idk. :p Everyone would appear as their real, modern day selves, but maybe still dream color coded, including Aubrey's friends. :p White Space and Black Space would fuse together to become Gray Space, a place that's still mostly solitary, but with some versions of Sunny's friends that say more or less the same stuff they did before the final battle of the normal route, to remind Sunny that everyone can make mistakes and that it doesn't make him a monster... In some places in the dream world, some of the characters could have a private conversation like Aubrey teasing Sunny if he's sure the Dream World isn't boring now and if he's sure if he's really okay with all these realistic changes to it, and Kel would mention that it's okay to be childish sometimes and let loose every now and than, least of all in a dream world, since real life adulthood can be stressful sometimes, but Hero would reassure him that he's proud of Sunny seemingly growing up and likes the changes. :p Oh yeah, and finally, the Vast Forest/Playground area would be updated to like... a sports area, and the Boss Rush would be more like some kind of sports tournament, whatever Humphrey is replaced with, the enemies would be based on simple animals or so and criminals, and/or simple real life problems, like... landlords or something, LOL. XD (Actually, now I'm kind of curious what a parody of the manwha Suicide Boy would look like if the main character was replaced with Sunny. XD). Oh yeah, and like... Basil could also be there to remind Sunny that whatever memories that he makes in the Dream World... their not real. :p But they CAN be real if he ever finds a way to make them happen, and it could be more like... a planner for something to do in the real world. :O And in the real, maybe he just like... studies/works as a replacement for the chores thing while still trying to find time with his friends, maybe new people in his neighborhood where he moves to, while also trying to balance like... e-mailing his friends in the game here, and stuff. :p Yeah, that's all I got so far though. :?
I think the reason why Omori's ending Is cryptic and "unfinished" Isn't because it's fun to speculate, but because the point of Sunny's journey Is to forgive himself regardless of whether his friends would the same
Here's a neat mod concept swap the headspace and real world or have the towns headspace leak into the real world (by the towns headspace I mean like mementos from persona 5 as it reapresents the cognitive to the people)
I rather think that OMORI not revealing their reactions is kinda similar to Persona 5 Royal not confirming whether or not Goro Akechi is still alive. I've seen fanfiction, fanart, and fangames come from both games' ambiguous endings and that's possible thanks to their ambiguity, yanno?~ So yeah, I kinda agree with you on why that kinda storytelling is good~
Whats next? Prob my game. (Its an art game you cant play it on devices but there are choices in my channel where you press the vids as the options coming out in the future) I'LL BE POSTING SNEAK PEEKS OKOK
I bet many others in the comments have already brought this up, but Doughie and Biscuit are the unbread twins. They aren't new characters, but a hidden boss of orange oasis.
Misconception regarding Doughie aside, there is another aspect to Reverie that I feel like should've been mentioned. Despite faithfulness being one of the core design philosophies of the mod, that doesn't mean Reverie has some things that feel out of place. And what better way to demonstrate that than by having THREE SECRET BOSSES IN THE FORM OF THE INFAMOUS MATADOR, ALICE, AND METATRON FROM SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI!?! Yeah, those three are actually fightable in this mod, complete with adapted versions of their original skillset from SMT. They're optional boss encounters, but that doesn't take away from the fact that they even exist in the first place.

Hello there! You may know me as the artist behind the Conductor Bunny's battle sprites (cute, right~?)
... Wait, what was I supposed to say?
Not sure, but your arts really good. Thanks for answering my questions about the mod
I wish theres playable side stories about the gang's life after 'that' when Sunny isnt around for years 😔😔
I’m curious about it too
@@bossdoor YESS WE NEED MORE AFTER-ENDING CONTENT 😭😭😭👊 #cope
I don't want a second omori game, i want a serie. Think about it, if they make another omori, has a big chance to not be in our expectations. With a serie following the end of the game we can already see a masterpiece continue
I don't think will be or should be any more OMORI canon period; the drama that the game's charm is founded on is over.
@@dewroot5176 Who knows what omocat might be planning, maybe they are doing a sequel, we don't know
@@Cheesemoonhmost likely not tho

just finished this game and would call it one of my favorite games of all time, now i feel lost and this videos title is basically my situation right now
Hmm,try hello charlotte may be it make you better
right. after omori i was scared. scared that this will never be topped and i still am
go play crosscode
I finished the story yesterday, and I'm not able to say goodbye to the gang. I started recommending my friends to play omori just for seeing them again :(. What a masterpiece. Also, I think that an Omori with new characters and mental topics would be interesting!
It’s been about 3 days and I can’t stop thinking about them.
Omori quickly became my favorite game. It makes me feel horrible about life when I think about it too much but that's why I love it. It causes emotion and pain in me which for some reason is fun. I can't tell you how many times I've cried listening to the soundtrack
It's one of my favs too! tysm for watching and feel free to join the discord in the description!
very good video! can't wait to hear more about the mod!
Really appreciate you watching it! You're also welcome to join my server to get notified when the next Reverie related video goes up :) discord.gg/HBTyPM8
Really well done video! Good job man!
That means a ton. It really does. Tysm :)
Feel free to join the discord in the description too
I got introduced to Omori cause my ex said i look and act like basil and hes sunny
and i was like "whats a basil and whats a sunny"
so i looked up a gameplay on youtube and boom, thats how ik of it
but now after looking more into its story, the more i realize i relate to the mental disorders or struggles that the game portraits.
wouldn't be it so sad, if not literally depressing if OMOCAT or a Russian/Chinese company sent the Reveerie team a cease and desist note because of copyright infrigment?
That's what happened to the spanish translation sadly, but only because some of the members managed to make it work in a pirated version and the whole thing vanished (i think), it's probably still out there somewhere but i never felt like searching for it again
I guess that Omori takes you to a particular destination. The story isn't over, but the rest is a story for another time.
"THE GREAT GATE stands firm because it's a door" came to me way funnier then i would have thought it would.
This mod will be… interesting, also I like how you put Terraria Calamity Mod music at the end.
Unfortunately the pain of knowing that the creepy, mentally off baby of the group was covering up the murder of the beloved big sister of the group and that he and Basil let them believe she chose to end her life... its not going to be pretty. They might forgive them... in time.
Wow thats great, my friend is actually working on this game its nice that its getting talked about more
Thats sick!
It's so nice to finally see Sunny smile! It's funny that Sunny and Basil are smiling at each other in that condition though!
i just finished it and now im hella mad that there isnt something after the good ending and the secret ending cutscene i hate it i want a good ending i want to know how they all reacted after sunny confesses now im depressed and its stuck in my head how bad this clifhanger made me feel
I thought this video would be about the future of omori and omocat's games
I really like the the end, but I really need to know what happens next
You know, you could arguably say that about any given deep and dramatic story that gives your life meaning, though Omori is a pretty big one. :p
I remember reading a comment about someone saying that for Elfen Lied though and that felt like the last greatest impactful thing in their life... what other good story could top that? :p
Sigh... it's sad that for someone like me, fiction can sometimes feel more like reality than reality feels like reality...
:p Just like Sunny/Omori themselves...
i played many games, but omori was in the 1% games that actually made me cry while playing/finishing the game.
oh that is simple: Play jimmy and the pulsating mass it came out a few years before and has a similar vibe. That is what is next.
Shares the same inspirations earthbound and yume nikki(what rpg maker game doesn't nowadays tho)
I'm a new subscriber but I just want to say nice video
here is a comment for yt recommendation system
Agreed
Reverie likely takes place while Sunny rests in the hospital, that’s why he has two eyes instead of a bandaged socket
OMORI is one of those games that you forget about a week after finishing it, but it will always be there at the back of your head.
Nah I never forgot
honestly, because of the multiple possible endings, I dont think a sequel will be possible for OMORI.
There’s an animatic series called Sayonara that I think is pretty good at showing an interpretation of what happens after the ending, it does (spoiler alert?) get a little bit unrealistic after a while but it’s still a worthwhile watch.
omoris the new undertale a fan base that goes crazy and wants more but the devs are tired
what happened after OMORI's ending:
"HERO tagged SUNNY"
"AUBREY tagged BASIL"
FunFact : Doughie and Biscuit is Maverick's brother that is Baker
after omori youre now sad
Me, trying to get my brother to try the game, he clicks on the nice looking thumbnail with a "oh, ok".
Then he notices the "PEGI 18 Extreme violence" and goes "AYO WTF WHAT DO YOU MEAN!?"
🤣
One reason I fucking hated to finish omori, was because I know its a one of a kind game, a hidden gem, I know there won't be any other games in the same style or will make me feel the same feeling
“After omori? Hmm..”
“Aubrey.”
“You can be in a real jam”
HA get it
After OMORI, depression is next
There’s no after omori it is only omori
A really good recommendation I'd suggest after omori's is Yume Nikki, I never heard of it until I played the game and after watching playthroughs of yume nikki I can see how it was inspired by it
You spend a week and some change. Coping. That is what is after Omori.
6:23 GREAT GATE stands firm because it is a door.
Made me laugh a lot.
nice, reverie
Everything is going to be okay...
Damn the good ending really left us hanging (Like mari)
The answer to the title is "Depression".
The space area could simply be an observatory and/or space station, the pyrefly forest/sweetheart's castle can simply be like some kind of halloween or culture festival attraction or something, the sea area could be more of a beach with some job-like area where Hero works at, and so on, idk. :p
Everyone would appear as their real, modern day selves, but maybe still dream color coded, including Aubrey's friends. :p
White Space and Black Space would fuse together to become Gray Space, a place that's still mostly solitary, but with some versions of Sunny's friends that say more or less the same stuff they did before the final battle of the normal route, to remind Sunny that everyone can make mistakes and that it doesn't make him a monster...
Oh yeah, and finally, the Vast Forest/Playground area would be updated to like... a sports area, and the Boss Rush would be more like some kind of sports tournament, whatever Humphrey is replaced with, the enemies would be based on simple animals or so and criminals, and/or simple real life problems, like... landlords or something, LOL.
And in the real, maybe he just like... studies/works as a replacement for the chores thing while still trying to find time with his friends, maybe new people in his neighborhood where he moves to, while also trying to balance like... e-mailing his friends in the game here, and stuff. :p
Yeah, that's all I got so far though. :?
You’ll be in a real JAM…
I think the reason why Omori's ending Is cryptic and "unfinished" Isn't because it's fun to speculate, but because the point of Sunny's journey Is to forgive himself regardless of whether his friends would the same
Yoo sick, found this in the omoricord
I found it by clicking on my notifications lmao.
Here's a neat mod concept swap the headspace and real world or have the towns headspace leak into the real world (by the towns headspace I mean like mementos from persona 5 as it reapresents the cognitive to the people)
legit love this!!
Would like to see a story told by Hero's point of view after losing Mari... Might be interesting
depression. next is depression.
Yes
I rather think that OMORI not revealing their reactions is kinda similar to Persona 5 Royal not confirming whether or not Goro Akechi is still alive. I've seen fanfiction, fanart, and fangames come from both games' ambiguous endings and that's possible thanks to their ambiguity, yanno?~ So yeah, I kinda agree with you on why that kinda storytelling is good~
I rlly wanna see Hero’s POV as a game🤝🏼 Also maybe more info moorish and maris parents
Wait, So then what could be another fangame? Hikkiomori where its hero that died?
Whats next? Prob my game. (Its an art game you cant play it on devices but there are choices in my channel where you press the vids as the options coming out in the future)
I'LL BE POSTING SNEAK PEEKS OKOK
I bet many others in the comments have already brought this up, but Doughie and Biscuit are the unbread twins. They aren't new characters, but a hidden boss of orange oasis.
Whats next indeed
help i finished the game and i dont know what to do now
Omori takes place in the same universe as Half-Life. Change my mind
After Omori, you lose your sanity.
2:58 i twitched when you said fan favorite.
Is my voice that nice?
@@bossdoor quite possibly
Omori literally gives you an affect that lasts 2-3 months.
after omori, there is LISA.
depression.
Dope asf video, so cool to see my music used in a video essay
tysm that means a lot :) you're welcome to promote your songs in my own server too! discord.gg/HBTyPM8
After omori there will be sunny
therapy
Its really not hard at all to get it out of your head at least for me. When I complete games I move on to another and thats it
Now that’s left is for someone to make an Omori but voice acted mod (if that hasn’t already been created)
Look up dubspace on Twitter
i just finished it. 100/100
