    Thanks so much! Had the same issue; reset the gap. First pull --- it starts! Over and over and over. Husq 445 for me. I set the gap using a sheet of paper as the gap. thanks thanks thanks

    Thank you so much! I have a 455 Rancher that was doing the same thing. I put a.006 gap in there and it fixed it right up. Worked perfect! Thanks again!

    Thank you, thank you, thank you it works now 10 years messing with this saw every now and then. It starts and runs great. Carried it to chain saw shop today and they wouldn’t work on 240s. But thank you friend it is fixed now

    Great explaination, short and sweet! Hoping this may help with my cheap McCulloch (after Husky bought em) that has hot start issues. I've got just about everything else gone through. 🤔
    Edited the next day to say, I cleaned up this area and set the gap with a business card (need to pick up some new feeler gauges) and my saw is running perfect today, thanks a ton!!

    Yep my 120 did the exact same thing yesterday.
    And adjusting the gap down fixed it straight away.
    Cheers mate that saved a lot of swearing

    Wow brother Husqvarna needs to give you an award or at least acknowledge their ignition was out of whack, thanks!

    It's a good idea to check manufacturer specs for the air gap, but a general rule of thumb is to use a business card to set the gap.

    Wow I’m going to try this. I have a Husqvarna 240 that I was diagnosing. Carb is brand new, I have spark ⚡️, fuel filter and gas lines are all good. I started it and it died after a couple of minutes and like you said in the video I pull and pull and pull and it doesn’t start. This should fix the problem

    Air gap card is about 50 cents. I use it on every saw I touch. You would be amazed at how many new saws are out of spec.

    I'm looking at buying a little Ryobi 38cc saw to get rid of a few trees here at home and while most of the reviews I've looked at are positive, a few people have said that they returned the saws within a day or two because they wouldn't start once they were hot/had been used for a while - I wonder if this could be the problem with them too. Certainly something to keep in mind!

    Going to try it. Had one 240 that kept doing this. Not starting after it ran a while. Returned to store for exchange. New one did the exact same thing. Hushvarna is usually better than this. I’m surprised.

    Thanks so much for your video, my 240 begin to have hot start issues recently, I knew it wasn't carb related and was leaning towards the coil but makes total sense the pick up is in need of adjustment. Thanks again.

    I hope this will work on my Husky 235R Brush Cutter. I can run one tank through it refuel and never get it going again.

    That gap is still to big I bet that saw runs like crap. Take painters tape put 2 layers of tap on flywheel magnet then set coil on top of the 2 layers of painters tape the magnetic force will hold coil in place. Tighten coil screws. Rotate flywheel to reveal the tape now peal the 2 layers of tape off. Your coil gap is now set. The gap you have I’d bet the saw is gutless

    Most 2-strokes have a . 010-.012 coil/flywheel clearance.

      Both of the screw holes in the coil are slotted so you can adjust up and down to make adjustments

    Husqvarna saws are very fussy about fuel. They need consistent 50;1 mix. That's it.

  • @Wdthyfdo
    @Wdthyfdo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Unfortunately that's only one of the many problems this model saw encounters . It's simply a pos saw.

  • @unknownpresident
    @unknownpresident 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    In the manual on mine it's .3 mm ,
    The spark plug gap is .5 mm
    Reading manuals is something utubers lack the intelligence to do. Then say they solved an unknown problem , but it's back n white on the trubble shooting page of the manual.

    • @matthewshat
      @matthewshat 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If all else fails read the manual which I always do, but it’s a lot to remember after a couple years or more and then I can’t remember where I put the damn thing. Sometimes TH-cam is faster!!!
