3 years old but I just found this video. So the rough ride isn’t just in my head! I had a 2018 from August 2018 until September 2020. Traded it for a 2020 Ram Limited because I thought my wife wanted to get a travel trailer but she ended up buying us a small farm instead! The Ram rode great but the Hemi felt like a four cylinder compared to the Raptor. This past June she surprised me with a 2019 Raptor with 32k miles. I was weary of buying a used Raptor but the dealer threw in a bumper to bumper 100k miles no deductible warranty. Since owning it a few months I have felt that it rides crappy on paved roads but thought it was in my head because I had been driving the Ram, which rides like a nice luxury car and the air suspension adjust the height and leveling based on the load. I also was sure my 2018 road much better. So watching this video makes me think it isn’t just in my head or that this Raptor isn’t worn out with 37k on it now. Of course I had a MPT 93 PRX tune loaded the first week.
traded in my 2013 6.2 for a 2019 and i am in love. the only issue i had with the 2013 was the engine. it was great on power but it felt too big. after taking the 2019 for a small desert run it was almost night and day. ya i miss the v8 sound but man this v6 is sweet. its like constant power throughout the rpm range. ill test drive the new v8 when it comes out buy if they cant keep the weight the same as the v6 then i dont know
I have a loaded 2017 super crew Raptor and the only thing I would wish to have from the 2019 is the seats and adaptable shocks but I am 50/50 on the shocks as they give a stiffer ride but improve towing.
I think the people who didn’t like the video are fans of the Ram 1500 Rebel or Ram 2500 PowerWagon . Rumor has it that the Hellcat engine may be put into a Ram truck, 1500 or 2500... I’m not confirming it.
Billy Sou That would be insane and I honestly would highly consider it. But for this particular truck purchase, I wanted the absolute best off road performance truck and those don’t come close.
Own one 2019 loaded and yes the new shocks are pretty but definitely rough on paved road!! But still worth it!! I’ve added intake, intercooler, turbo adapters and deleted resonator now getting it tuned just because I can and want to max it out as much as possible.!
Very well documented SH! Not too verbose nor overly succinct. Just the perfect temperature bowl of review porridge for our enjoyment. That said, is it time for me to park an All New Raptor to the right of a Veloster, in my garage, to achieve Jurassic automotive bliss?
The owner of my gym has a Raptor himself. I question the practicality when he got it (He has 2 young kids.); his previous vehicle is a previous generation Nissan Armada. He says that his Raptor gets better fuel mileage than his old Armada.
I disagree with the on road handling. I test drove multiple 2018 Raptors before buying the new 2019. The older Fox suspension system was spongelike and had a tendency to roll in tight turns. The new suspension corrects that, and it handles much better. As for the acceleration, the peak performance acceleration comes when you put the Raptor in Baja mode. You launch like a bat out of hell in 4H and no traction control.
Another great review Steve! the price is high, I'd definitely get a Limited instead! I heard you can't lease a Raptor? So that would be even more of a motivating factor on the limited for me. The interior of this Raptor is cool, but i'd hardly call it "spectacular". the suede on the seats reminds me of an old beat up recliner chair.. They need to offer a perforated or quilted leather like they have on previous high trim fords, or take some notes from the newest Audi "S" products.. It's a nice truck but If I had 70k cash I wouldn't spend it here. If I could lease one reasonably I probably would, just to see what it's all about. Thanks again for the second take on the Raptor!
JakeDrives a limited I’d just as much if not even MORE than a raptor, and the raptor will perfectly hold its value while a limited would plummet in price quicker than you can imagine.
@@jaredchampagne2752 Did you miss the entire post where I elaborated about how I lease my vehicles. Also, how the limited is more my taste, due to the luxury features? Yea.. I pretty much thought so. I know what both trucks cost. I also know what I want.

Personally, I like the V8, the 5.2 found in the Shelby would make for a perfect balance. I had a new 1st generation 2013 6.2 & was truly impressed. I test drove a new 19 recently & just can't take a liking to the eco boost V6. Great motor yet kept me from buying one. Just my preference.
jeff revill Lol here we go again .... just to remind you Ford doesn’t make a V8 that performs nearly as well as the Raptors V6... and because the Raptor is a half ton it’s fuel economy on paper matters to Ford ,it has to get decent mileage on the EPA test loops so Ford can get the proper EPA credits .I love the V8 sound but I don’t see one in the Raptors future, and now that the 7.3 V8 is out it’s apparent that it is a workhorse engine not a performance engine ...even less likely..
Will be interesting to see if they wanna match that dodge thing that is coming out. If so it would have to be the GT500 engine. I’m sure that would make the price jump up to nearly 90k... would be a shame. Would love to see Ford have a couple of engine choices for the Raptor

That said, I much prefer driving my 2017 Accord with a 6 spd manual than I do my current crossover. This Raptor looks much better than the average truck, however, and would probably be a blast to drive (in a way my crossover isn’t).

You are talking like this the only way the truck is configured for resale. You stated, it comes with these Ricarro seats. No it doesn't. That is an option. So I don't understand. Why can't we see a review for the cheaper versions? So it makes me think you paid by Ford and therefore only showing their high end versions. There are currently three 2019s available for less than $60k. So why did you say this truck has a price tag of what, $75K? That is only for the high end versions of this truck. Do you just sell these cars or what?
