Right on! I was going to kill myself back in like 95. I drove around listening to train o consequences over and over! I was looking for something I could get up to a high rate of speed and hit! I was hoping it would be dead on so I would die! Listening to that song over and over and not finding that special place landed me in AA! That’s where I read the train of consequences in the big book right around the fourth step! I was floored! Literally that song kept me going and I kept saying oh well I’ll wait till tomorrow and try again! In a way it saved my life! I really like Dave Mustaine. I remember getting into Megadeth back in the mid 90s as a young teenager. Having now been a long time fan, it's still really refreshing to see how humble and low key he is.

Dave is a pretty intelligent guy, and calls things as he sees them. There are many out there who do not like that about him, or anyone for that matter. It makes them uncomfortable for a host of reasons. I personally find it refreshing. As far as the President goes, I think we will find out droves of information after he leaves office, for years after.

After the deadly accident of Panic in a car crash for most of the band and his father death at 18 years old after refounding him again after grew up without him .. i think it was pretty devastating . I respect Dave and think he's a great musician, but he came off as poorly informed about Obama in this interview. If you're gonna argue politics, at least bring a solid defense to the table. In order to cater to the tastes of the masses, they must dumb down their music to such a degree that it becomes easily accessible. The more technically proficient and creative a band is, the less well known they are. Most people cannot handle anything of substance. It's too much for the brain to calculate, which is why Metallica stays very simple.

Had both bands released those albums been released 2 years later, they would have been disasters thanks to the rise of grunge music, which was one of the most mediocre and unskilled genres of music ever to emerge. Yet, both of the albums were more commercial in sound and much less technical. The response? Commercial acclaim and massive record sales, taking the Billboard 1 and 2 spots. The music was dumbed down.
Generally, the more popular a band is, the less musicianship they show. This is the fact of mainstream music, and Metallica are a mainstream band. In order to cater to the tastes of the masses, they must dumb down their music to such a degree that it becomes easily accessible. The more technically proficient and creative a band is, the less well known they are. Most people cannot handle anything of substance. It's too much for the brain to calculate, which is why Metallica stays very simple.

You're speculating based on personal opinion. I only deal in facts. As I recall, you posted a video and made a comment stating that Dave Mustaine never wrote any of the songs on Metallica's debut album.
Yet, he did, and has received full songwriting credit for them on the album in question.

AFJA more complex than Rust In Peace? Sorry, but you don't know your music, nor do you have any clue what goes into musical composition. Nick Menza ran several circles around Lars Ulrich on that album (which isn't hard, everyone runs circles around him), and Hammett's guitar solos were completely blown to smithereens by Marty Friedman, who is obviously (come on, let's be reasonable) light years ahead. If the guys in Metallica tried to play RIP back then, they would have died of heart attacks.
Who cares if Dave was wrong about the President of the US? One, it's Dave Mustaine. He can say whatever the fuck he wants, and people have to just live with it. No one in the world has more say than Mustaine does. And two, I'm Canadian. I could give two shits about American politics. I just enjoy watching Dave talk. He's such an interesting guy...
