I'd steer clear of the 5.4 unless you can get a quality remanufactured engine put in immediately and only then will it last for a very long time. I'd consider the 4.6 and even the 4.2 in the e250. I have the 4.2 with 297k miles and I absolutely love it. Yes, it's slow. However, they're built well and built to last so long as you use the V6 for what it is intended for. Light duty stuff!

Yeah the coil springs help give you some more height as well, the custom leaf springs in the rear is a deal breaker though if I'm being honest. It allows for much more articulation more towing capacity as well as give you the smoothest ride you can get. The springs are weighted specifically to your build so you can have a full camper build out and we can get you the correct springs to accommodate the weight and give you the best ride possible! 👍

I have a GM AWD Cargo van(2010 Savana H platform), and aside from a terrible front diff design(there is a reason I have 1 rebuilt and ready to go at all times), its open. Anyone make a 2wd lift kit for dodge b250? My family has a 1990 dodge b250 Roadtrek camper van. We love it. Been wanting to add a locking rear diff, winch front bumper, and a suspension lift to get us a little more off the beaten path, but cant seem to find any kits anywhere. I might be able to block the rear leaf springs and add spacers to front coils but I'm hoping someone somewhere has done this or knows where I can make it happen.....
Banks last week used car prices did go down 11.8%. I am thinking they were going to go down a lot further with all the new cars to dealers cannot sell. Sorry guys I think businesses like this will take a huge hit as people are going to have to learn to save for what they want instead of self-gratification and borrowing money putting themselves deeper into debt. are tightening up credit and also making a person have a lot higher credit score for a loan. Since the unemployment numbers have come out with still many millions left to apply people will have to decide whether they want to try to make the rent payment mortgage payment versus spending money because these conversions are very expensive.
Not hardly. I've got experience with these vans too, and you're wrong. I'm driving an Express at this very moment, and I can tell you it's garbage. When braking the 8 gear tranny clunks into a lower gear tossing the vehicle around, the engine whines (without the gratification of having a supercharger), the driving position is pure 💩 ... you're pushed up against the door and your head is shoved into the airbag, the steering wheel can only be adjusted up/down and does not telescope out like the superior Ford. The Chevy's dash is long, ugly, badly designed lacking thought or ergonomics and the steering wheel is spaced too closely into the dash ... Chevy's Express van is a lower, the previous G-Series were superior in every way, even to the Ford equivalents. But today the Ford's are superior.
I know it ain't as reliable or as cheap to fix as a chevy but I really love the econoline.. so sad they stopped making them. Guess I'm getting a chevy.. Bummer

my chevy gets gets about 12 mpg, but I do have a ton of weight due to the bumpers, rack, and rtt not to sure about the Fords because we don't convert them to 4x4
Twin I beam is the stupidest front suspension design ever conceived. Works great for a poor man's long travel but on the street it's it's absolutely awful. I've been maintaining a fleet for 12 years and I've changed so many sets of front tires on twin I beam vehicles they go thru tires like socks. Caster, camber and toe all being dependant on spring height is completely moronic
@@Maples01 it is tough as hell especially the early setup that used king pins instead of ball joints. It's strong because it's simple. I still think a straight single beam with the same radius arms and coils would've been a better choice. You'd have varying caster but consistent camber and toe
@@roncook8566 I've had several, the old trucks, them my 99 E350 and 73 E100 I have currently, you accept the tire wear, but I will say when keeping the tires on my E350 at 80 psi they have been even, no cupping, but buying Coopers, all suffer sidewall separation. Unlike the GM A-arms, you can jump curbs without fear of knocking anything loose.
Normally, when the public thinks of van conversions, they think of conversion to a camper van; in other words, interior design, bed, storage, kitchen, etc. So, the title of this video is misleading.
I just started watching you and love your videos. I'm interested in a 4x4 van how can I get a price on one. Also I'm a firefighter would you be able to put emergency lights and siren on if I buy through you.
Heck yeah thank you brother, appreciate it!! Just give us a call at (619) 596-9831 and you will speak to Alyssa, she can help you find what you're looking for!
Chevys kinda suck, but Fords are slightly above average when it comes to overall reliability, repairability, and longevity. If you're buying it new and getting rid of it before 100k it doesn't matter that much. 4x4 is a waste of money in any heavy vehicle, especially when it comes to the inevitable repairs. Get better tires + chains instead if you're planning on off-roading. I know yall are just trying to make a buck, but lift kits are a total meme. Unless you work as a logger in the Appalachians you'll NEVER find yourself in a situation where they're worth it.
"The Ford has a 5.4L, and the Chevy has a 6L" INCORRECT! You should make clear that YOUR Ford and Chevy have those engines, but both have other engine options. The Ford E-Series can also be had with the 6.8L V10 ... and the Chevy can be had with the 4.3L ... and there are more options still for both. Yeah we offer a 2" leveling spacer which will definitely allow you to run bigger tires! Here is a link to our website with some before and after pics of you want to check out the look it can give you! weldtecdesigns.com/product/chevrolet-express-leveling-spacer-2/
do you know of any Limited slip options to put into the GM 7.2IFS front diff? I have a GM AWD Cargo van(2010 Savana H platform), and aside from a terrible front diff design(there is a reason I have 1 rebuilt and ready to go at all times), its open. Every option I can find for 7.2IFS redirects to the 8.2 front end, which isn't the same...
Where are you located, Thanks
Oh wow that's crazy, thanks for sharing this info!!

Where you located at
Having ample experience with both platforms, i’d say the Chevy is built to a slightly higher standard
Most definitely!!
Chevy Express 3500 6.0 all the way 🚚🚚🚚🚚🚚🚚
Good choice!
Does the Chevy need to be converted to 4x4?
No you don't need to go 4x4! You can get a 2WD kit! 👍
How reliable are the newer eseries cutaway? I'm thinking about getting one and putting a box on it
I know it ain't as reliable or as cheap to fix as a chevy but I really love the econoline.. so sad they stopped making them. Guess I'm getting a chevy..
Bummer
I need rain gutter to gutter measurements off the Chevy express anyone can help? (I need Width)
Hi Jeremy another great video, know you're always looking for suggestions so how about more information on Ford E-Series front/rear sway bars for our lifted vans/ RV motorhomes. And also would love to have you do a video on a locker rear end build out on a Ford E-Series. That's my next project on the #b190 #liftedvan I'm trying to figure out what type would work best for me. thanks again #Lakeboy_BS
You got it Brian. I will work on putting that together. Stay tuned....
How's the mpg on those if they're covered to 4x4? I wanna get one, one day. I haven't heard good things about the transits
my chevy gets gets about 12 mpg, but I do have a ton of weight due to the bumpers, rack, and rtt not to sure about the Fords because we don't convert them to 4x4
Thank you
The Chevy Express I drove at work was a P.O.S.
1500 2500 or 3500 ?
Twin I beam is the stupidest front suspension design ever conceived. Works great for a poor man's long travel but on the street it's it's absolutely awful. I've been maintaining a fleet for 12 years and I've changed so many sets of front tires on twin I beam vehicles they go thru tires like socks. Caster, camber and toe all being dependant on spring height is completely moronic
Yet it is more durable that the others, keeping adjustment is impossible, but you can beat on it without it falling apart.
@@Maples01 I don't mess with either my truck has a king pin Dana 60 infinitely superior to bull shit A arms or beams
1) rotate tires regularly
2) dont corner too hard
3) id bet the sway bars are in desperate need of new bushings.
Where are you located I’m in Inglewood ca and want to check you guys out. Send the info
El Cajon, Ca about 20 minutes outside of San Diego
Are there any plans on offering us e-series owners the opportunity to trade in the 2wd lift for a 4wd kit?
Not currently. We are not doing 4x4 conversions on the Ford E-series.
If you do, I'd be online to convert my E250 as well.
Normally, when the public thinks of van conversions, they think of conversion to a camper van; in other words, interior design, bed, storage, kitchen, etc. So, the title of this video is misleading.
Can I turn my. 98 RV E-350 class C. 23 ft into a 4X4 link that van
We don't offer a 4x4 lift for the class c rv's just a 2WD lift, I belive U-Joint offers 4x4 for the class c! 👍
Yep u-joint offroad does it
I just started watching you and love your videos.
Can anyone please tell me what the difference is in interior dimensions between the chevy express extended and the ford e series extended?
What about the awd express?
I want to build a lift for them but need one to do it.
My son has an awesome Eline
That rad, they're great vans!! 🤘
I have 99 Chevy Express
SHOW MORE OF THE PRODUCT ..AND LESS TALK.
Turn the audio off then you don't have to hear the talk haha
Fuck it, who is gonna pay for gas.
What's the name of the green van in the intro 0:25
Sandstorm Van. By Darude motor company
Enseña la camioneta y ya deja de hablar
I hate fords because they have done stupid shit in the motors
Chevys kinda suck, but Fords are slightly above average when it comes to overall reliability, repairability, and longevity. If you're buying it new and getting rid of it before 100k it doesn't matter that much. 4x4 is a waste of money in any heavy vehicle, especially when it comes to the inevitable repairs. Get better tires + chains instead if you're planning on off-roading.
I know yall are just trying to make a buck, but lift kits are a total meme. Unless you work as a logger in the Appalachians you'll NEVER find yourself in a situation where they're worth it.
Those winds are too wild for me
Crystal Run I agree from Jay Cook
Chevy needs to get there head out of there ass with the Torino system it was done away with it in the 1970s and back to stupid.
You talk Too-much and show less. .
Too much FLUFF in this video
"The Ford has a 5.4L, and the Chevy has a 6L" INCORRECT! You should make clear that YOUR Ford and Chevy have those engines, but both have other engine options. The Ford E-Series can also be had with the 6.8L V10 ... and the Chevy can be had with the 4.3L ... and there are more options still for both. BAD EXPLANATIONS 👎 Talk about what you know or stimmy up ... or ... how about bother to do some research and learn.
