Fans worldwide fell head over heels for Ben Platt during his Tony® Award-winning turn in the title role of Dear Evan Hansen and on-screen in films such as the Pitch Perfect franchise. As the vocalist, actor, and performer sang life into a host of nuanced and fascinating characters, audiences embraced his voice wholeheartedly. Ben achieved superstar status as Evan Hansen in Dear Evan Hansen, originating the lead role. Signed to Atlantic Records by Chairman and C.E.O. Craig Kallman and President of A&R Pete Ganbarg, he explored his formative influences, ranging from timeless singer-songwriters such as Joni Mitchell and Carole King to legendary crooners like Donny Hathaway, Ray Charles, and Stevie Wonder. As a result, the music delivers confessional lyricism by way of soulful intimacy as part of one cohesive narrative on his 2019 full-length debut, Sing To Me Instead. The 12-track album, which was primarily produced by Jenn Decilveo, chronicles the highs and lows of a transformative relationship. Showcasing his story, Ben penned several songs solo and co-wrote the remainder of material alongside the likes of Ben Abraham, Eg White, Nate Cyphert, Michael Pollack, and more.

My wife and I saw Ben Platt in Dear Evan Hansen last Sunday (Oct. 22, 2017). Words fail to describe the immensity of this guy's talent. He has shattered all previous standards of excellence in theater performance for me. His portrayal of the Evan Hansen character was so visceral and palpable, he made the audience laugh and cry throughout the entire show. His interpretation of Pasek and Paul's music was beyond perfection. Where does he get that voice from? He scaled the high notes with controlled intensity and explosiveness that still sounded beautifully melodic. His falsetto is like raspy butter. And his vibrato is divine. Like many theater insiders say, he is a unicorn in the midst of elite talents. I absolutely agree with them. Thank you, Ben Platt, for sharing your talents. Looking forward to your album!

I don't think it's that they are bored it's that they have probably heard him sing a thousand times and are like "here Ben goes" because if he was my student i'd use him as an example many times. But they didn't know how lucky they were.

I ran into Ben's cover an accident. I had looked up this song because a couple of my friends are singing this as a duet. I was surprised to see this in my recommended when listening to a different cover cause I had no idea he did this cover. And Ben is one of my absolute favorite singers of all time.

I've watched this 25 times since I found it and I thought the song played a part in how much I enjoyed it, but I have no interest in watching anyone else sing it that many times. Ben pierces your soul.
His performance feels like he's playing a prince/king in a musical adaptation of a Shakespeare play. I can clearly imagine such character in a cape and crown singing this, the piano and his deep voice make such dramatic combination!
