This video gave me and idea for an end game Crisis. The Pact: Millennia ago, the Fallen Empires where locked in a terrible war with each other. After centuries of stalemate they agreed to a pact. They would all return to their core systems, and if any of them ever left they would all immediately go to war again. Now with the new powers growing new opportunities arise and the fragile peace is broken. ( All FE awakens at the same time, and start an all out war against anyone who wont become a vassal.) Could be amazing!
I had the fun startup where I had enough repeated tech for my star bases to quarantine the fallen empires. They went to war, but were unable to leave their respective areas.
I appreciate the Dethklok opening. It was one of my 2 favourite Dethklok songs too! Anyway, what happened during my first War in Heaven was that the empire of my vassals and mine completely surrounded both Fallen Empires, and I did not yet have the fleet power to hold them back. So if I were to pick a side, the other FE would immediately crush my empire. Likewise, if I would oppose both of them they'd both just crush me. So I had to stay out of it completely. However, this did cause a small problem: I could not end the War in Heaven event without completely destroying every party involved. You see, after I dealt with the end-game crisis that spawned in the middle of the War in Heaven, I tried eliminating one of the FEs to end the war. That did not work, because upon destroying the FE their side's leadership was just passed on to one of their vassals. So I destroyed all the vassals. Nope, that didn't work either. Sure, the actual war was over, but the War in Heaven event itself was still running. And considering that every empire but mine picked a side in the war, this meant that I literally could not end the event, and thus win the game, until literally every empire but mine was destroyed. That took a while.
Materialist AE vs Spiritualist AE presents an interesting dynamic for spiritualist empires (and gestalts). Basically, submitting to the Spiritualists makes you become F Spiritualist and authoritarian... and the materialists make you ban AI and and pay some science... a spiritualist who's already authoritarian will have no problem joining the Spiritualists, but an individualistic spiritualist empire may not want to change ethics and may in fact find it better to side with the materialists if they don't mind the loss of science... Gestalts, especially MEs may, ironically, be more tempted to join the spiritualist AE since the ethics don't change, and it essentially means no loss besides independence... So what would make sense thematically... doesn't actually make sense thematically, because most spiritualists will join the Materialist AE, and a lot of gestalts, including ME's would benefit more going with the spiritualist AE... This is a really interesting dynamic... and one that doesn't occur for Xenophile AE vs Xenophobe AE... food for the thought...
what if you open the l-gate and unleash the grey tempest and retreat into one of their systems to create a ringworld while keeping the tempest alive and swarming the galaxy there usually are systems in the l-cluster that have only a single hyperlane that you can hold and then you build a ringworld for your civilization and then you can just watch the galaxy burn and basically gtfo

With luck, you will never see our kind again in your lifetime. I know you have your orders, Captain. Detain us if you wish. But I cannot tell you where we are going. I can only ask you to trust us."
fun fact: if your currently at war with one of the awakened empires while being the head of the league of non-aligned systems, and the war in heaven event to bring the league into the war hasn't happened yet. the event won't fire. this lets you beat up one empire while not being at war with the other. leave them at 1 planet and peace out then wait for the event to fire and now you can easily finish off the weakened empire and only have to fight 1 at a time.
Awakened empires rebuild planets with their special buildings; if you are able to, take down a fallen empire and leave them 1 planet. This makes it easy to decide which systems you will give them once they awaken so they can build them up for you with tech you just don't get. From there it's a game of containment.
First game after buying most of the dlcs and The war in heaven has started by ~2420, half the Galaxy joined one side, the other half went neutral, my economy is in shambles from my new overlord taxing me for everything I have, and on top of all that, the crisis is soon to appear in the middle of all of it. Fun game.
I got war in heaven so I quickly built up my forces only for the crisis warning to appear. I stayed out of the war to crush most of the crisis (left some to divide the attention of one of the FE) but by the time I joined EVERY system (large map) had a 80k-100k+ station and fleets in every third system. I had a 400k total fleet power.😅 I didn’t win
In my experience its pretty random which of the 3 sides an empires chooses and not linked it its ethics. I once joined the FE with my ethics (materialist), and all other empires joined the other FE LOL
A materialist empire awakened and screwed up not only the hyperlanes but also glitched out my construction ships, now they're looking at me like I'm the last piece of pizza. Any help?

You see, after I dealt with the end-game crisis that spawned in the middle of the War in Heaven, I tried eliminating one of the FEs to end the war. That did not work, because upon destroying the FE their side's leadership was just passed on to one of their vassals. So I destroyed all the vassals. Nope, that didn't work either. Sure, the actual war was over, but the War in Heaven event itself was still running. And considering that every empire but mine picked a side in the war, this meant that I literally could not end the event, and thus win the game, until literally every empire but mine was destroyed. That took a while.
That was not just a Dethklok, that was Batmetal.
Fleets : " OUR MASTERS HAVE AWAKENED US !! "
Scions be like: AWAKEN, MUSTAKRAKISH! THE LAKE TROLL!
Simply a fantastic intro
HOLY HELL, THAT BABYLON 5 REFERENCE AT THE BEGINNING!
Man, you are my fucking hero for that
+1 for the B5 shout out.
All we need now is the FE to start asking “Who are you?” And “What do you want?”
2 years after the video was released i get around to watch it and dear god i did not expect a babylon 5 reference
Could have saved 9 mins by just saying this is the plot to babylon 5
Not that im complaining. Now i can be Sheridan
AWAKEN MY MASTERS
Load up on swedish meatballs and turn on the jump drives, Aspec is standing between the candle and the star on this video.
Sounds plausible. If you are a believer yourself, you can cope better with unbelievers than with people who adhere to the wrong faith. HERETICS!
Let me write it before you ask music at the beginning is Clair de lune
God it's fucking nice to hear Dethklok, I'm glad to see you're a man of culture as wlel.
That was not just a Dethklok, that was Batmetal.
B5 reference! You ROCK, Aspec!
Awaken my masters!
what if you open the l-gate and unleash the grey tempest and retreat into one of their systems to create a ringworld while keeping the tempest alive and swarming the galaxy
there usually are systems in the l-cluster that have only a single hyperlane that you can hold and then you build a ringworld for your civilization and then you can just watch the galaxy burn and basically gtfo
The good ol galactic lifeboat.
In claster start you can have claster of stars with one connecting hyperline.
Clair de Lune from Debussy is a masterpiece
Get the hell out of our galaxy quote has made my day. Thanks aspec.
Your overlord awakening as a Scion: *pillarmen theme starts playing* AWAKEN MY MASTERS!
Awakening a spiritualist FE via World-Cracker: Wake up you wrinkly sack of hallowed dung, either you die or I die
Play as a Scion, call it Awaken my Masters
AWAKEN
I got the message today that my grandmother has passed away. Looking to clear my head a bit, I clicked on this video. I was instantly reminded of Clair de Lune and went on to listen to that for a while, then came back here doing better. So thanks Aspec
You're more then welcome, my sincerest condolences.
@@A_Spec Thank you, it is very appreciated. Also, a very quick response. Impressive.
"Both of you, get the Hell out out of this Galaxy." Babylon 5, Vorlons versus Shadows War
"There is a storm coming, a black and terrible storm. We would not have our knowledge lost or used to ill purpose. From this place we will launch ourselves into the stars. With luck, you will never see our kind again in your lifetime. I know you have your orders, Captain. Detain us if you wish. But I cannot tell you where we are going. I can only ask you to trust us."
Once I had a fallen empire awakened. They invited me into something,so that I was under their protection. Was great :D
fun fact: if your currently at war with one of the awakened empires while being the head of the league of non-aligned systems, and the war in heaven event to bring the league into the war hasn't happened yet. the event won't fire. this lets you beat up one empire while not being at war with the other. leave them at 1 planet and peace out then wait for the event to fire and now you can easily finish off the weakened empire and only have to fight 1 at a time.
Fallen Empire : Awakens and demands my stuff
The one route into my stuff that I’ve turned into Cadia.
“Hmm… I’ll watch”
Awakened empires rebuild planets with their special buildings; if you are able to, take down a fallen empire and leave them 1 planet. This makes it easy to decide which systems you will give them once they awaken so they can build them up for you with tech you just don't get. From there it's a game of containment.
YES DETHKLOK REFERENCES BABYYYYYY. I will now be referring to all awakened empires as “musta’krakish”😂😂😂
AWAKEN AWAKEN AWAKEN AWAKEN
TAKE THE LAND THAT MUST BE TAKEN
"Giants in the background"
They can be much more scary then a crisis
It’s 2021, I’ve had the game a week and I just wanted to come here and appreciate the funny Intro 😂
one fun thing to do is if you're really strong yourself you can create the non aligned faction and leave it after everyone joins it
War in heaven: *starts*
Me, with the L-gates ready to open: "If this galaxy can't be mine, then it'll be noone's"
I thank you for this Video now if only I watched this vid before the fallen empire woke up
In my experience its pretty random which of the 3 sides an empires chooses and not linked it its ethics.
I once joined the FE with my ethics (materialist), and all other empires joined the other FE LOL
did you cleanse the galaxy of the infidel afterwards?
materialists are just spiritualists for robotics
@@SarenSoran I sure did
AWAKEN AWAKEN AWAKEN TAKE THE SPACE THAT MUST BE TAKEN!!
Loved the Dethklok song haha, it fit well with this.
This event just happened with a spiritual and a materialistic awakened Empire. I probably gonna go non aligned
A materialist empire awakened and screwed up not only the hyperlanes but also glitched out my construction ships, now they're looking at me like I'm the last piece of pizza. Any help?
TAKE THE LAND THAT MUST BE TAKEN
"Now get the *hell* out of our galaxy, *both* of you!"
FALLEN EMPIRE: "AT LAST WE AWAKEN TO....Wait, where is everyone?
DEVOURING SWARM: "*BURPS*...Pudding?"
That reference to Babylon 5 caught me off guard
Aspec what happens if you were between the fallen empires
Ah yes the war in heaven. Its been 3 weeks of trying to win and theres still noone. oming out of this galactic world war
Nice choice in music for Clair de lune to dethklok awaking lmao
I had 4 or 5 fallen empires as I was playing Extermination machines. None of the empires awaken, even with my fleet power, combined over 500K, actually I had 16 fleets with each one, almost reaching 100K with 5 being 100K... Well, Fallen Empire mistakes.
0:05 YO THATS CLAIR DE LA LUNE OR SOMESUCH IS IT NOT? MY GOD IT IS A MASTERPIECE OF A MUSIC
Neutron swept on a Holy planet of a spiritual asshats and later ended up wiping them out.
Later felt so bad that fallen empire, millennia old knowledge gone.
