    Are there any ants still in nests when you do the cast

      Sometimes there are, but some of our best castings are from vacant mounds. When a mound is disturbed, the ants start closing off the tunnels to the surface. Empty mounds means the aluminum flows deeper and makes a better casting. Thanks for watching!

    Why don't you leave it over night to cool down ??

      It's like a kid opening a birthday present. As soon as we pour the casting, we want to know what's inside. It cools fast by putting water on it. Aluminum is hardly affected by rapid cooling with water. Steel and other alloys do not cool down well with water.
