Great review. I got that little critter in 2021 to play in our small flat at bedroom level and man does it deliver. I love the warm tube tone and now I got a Rickenbacker 4003SW and it is a perfect match. The compressor and distortion and EQ including bass, the low mid, high mid and treble give plenty of adjustment. With my 4003 I can even come close to a Geddy or Squire close enough tone, so much I gave up the idea of getting a YYZ or DI-2112. Keep in mind I play just in our living room over streaming prog or Krautrock from Spotify and not live with any other musicians... If you are lookin for a small practice amp with plenty of possibilities in one compact form look no further
Likewise - great review! I've used it a couple of times "live" in a small hall - just solo bass - and again Rickenbacker, both with and without nu-tube distortion - it sounded great!
I was so tempted to get VX50 BA as a bedroom practice amp. I like that it is so light and not too bulky. However I was able to get the Blackstar Unity 60 on sale for about $70 cheaper so I went with that. But the Blackstar is heavier and more bulky. I wish I could have tried them side by side but I am in lockdown. Still waiting for the Blackstar to arrive.
I don't use my Vox much, but when I did the light weight was awesome! If you're not planning on lugging yours around hopefully the Blackstar will be fine.
@@scott9628 For a practice amp it is great. It's not too loud for my bedroom, but the notes I play still have a solid weight to them, if you know what I mean.
Someone else would have to answer, I've never tried to use it with drums. The line out is just the dry signal, I personally would want to use a separate DI. Sorry I can't help more!
Great review! I have had my Vox for a few years. Great amp for home usage.
Thanks for the feedback! Looks like I'm not alone liking this amp
This was an excellent review! Very pragmatic and to the point.
Great demo short and concise , lovely tone , classic Ricky at low volume very nice indeed!
Great review.

Fun playing . I have this amp and it’s awesome. I can’t believe how loud it is at 50 watts
It is loud isn't it?! For 50 watts and for being plastic! Thanks for the feedback
@@hieronymous7 it kinda sounds tubeish too
Bro, can i use this amp with a drummer?
@@emergencydepartment07 it’s pretty loud dude but idk lol

Good choice. I like Blackstar! How does it sound?

IN LOCKDOWN, LOOOL
Great Vid. Nice Amp for what it's meant to do. Awesome Rickenbacker. Thanks.
Thank you!
i'd like to have 2 of these amps to play with.. i really hope vox will make a V2 of this amp or a 100w 2x8 would be awesome.
2 sounds like fun! As does a 100 watt version.
Sounds awesome!
Thanks!
Looks like it has a 19v power socket. Might be able to use a battery power bank with it?
I wish I had an answer! Would be nice to know. Anyone?
Oh, shit...that amp sounds great and the Rick sounds sweet!
Have you had a chance to compare this to the Fender Rumble 40?
Unfortunately no.
That would be a great comparion. The Rumble 40 is the market leader in this segment.
I have a rocketbass 110 amp would be interested in a side by side 👌🏼nice playing
I hear some hiss noise between playing on bass in video - is it noise from combo?
Good question - I just plugged it in and turned it on without a bass plugged in, and it does have some hiss
Is it loud enough for small gigs or jams? Can it line out for that or mic up and work?

Battery powered?
No.
